Goran Dragolovic
Goran serves as Sr. Vice President at Surgical Care Affiliates where he is a member of the company’s
seven member executive team. He serves in two distinct roles within SCA having responsibility for
the day-to-day operations and finances of 51 of the company’s 180 surgical facilities, and charge
over the company’s new strategic initiatives. He is an articulate champion of the ASC healthcare

issues. This presentation will focus on the basics from hiring the right person to dealing
with a problem employee. Managing staffing costs affects employees, often in negative
ways. How does a manager control costs and keep employees happy? This presentation
will offer some suggestions to make this easier.

Learn how to develop and write quality improvement studies that include the appropriate
elements to meet accreditation standards. Describe the purpose of quality studies and
identify steps to include in studies that will achieve accreditation parameters. Learn what is
and what is not an appropriate QI study. Take away tips to promote your next QI study.
Managed Care Contracting
Stephen Kinsley, SCA
Participants will learn ways to be more efficient and effective when negotiating and
working with payers. Proven negotiation strategies and tactics will be discussed, to include
ASC center staff preparation and prioritization activities, “must have” contract provisions,
payer objections and how to overcome them, and the out-of-network option.

In the past 12 months, health care providers have paid record-setting amounts to the Office
for Civil Rights (OCR) to settle alleged violations of the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules.
This session will discuss in detail the common violations that were the basis of recent HIPAA
settlements and how ASCs should address the same HIPAA compliance concerns. This
session will conclude with a fun and challenging HIPAA Wheel of Fortune game to allow
attendees to compete in teams and show their knowledge of the HIPAA rules.
