The undertaking three years ago of partnering with the Healey Education
Foundation and the Connelly Foundation to form a new governance model for
Saints Peter and Paul School has come to a close. It is with great pride that we emerge
from this partnership better equipped to face the challenges of sustainability. We are
now armed with the keys to success. We have taken ownership, installed leadership,
and reached out to the members of the community for support. We have a valuable
Board of Limited Jurisdiction that is mission driven, data-informed, and family
centered. I thank the Board and the people who have given their support to Saints
Peter and Paul School as we continue this journey to strengthen our foundation.
The success of the 2013-2014 Annual Fund Campaign and the attainment of our
2013-2014 enrollment goals have positioned us as the finest school in Chester
County. These achievements are testaments to the generosity and the commitment
of the families and friends of Saints Peter and Paul School.
As stated by United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, the future of the Church
depends on the strength of Catholic education. As Principal, it is my duty to ensure
that Saints Peter and Paul School is preparing each student for the academic rigors
of high school and college, as well as instill a love of the Catholic faith. I cannot do
it alone. Each page of this Annual Report is evidence of the many individuals who
have demonstrated support of our mission of Hearts to Love and Hands to Serve.
Together, we will continue the tradition of academic excellence, rooted in Catholic
values for generations to come.

On behalf of the entire board and school community, I want to thank you all for
your generous support of Saints Peter and Paul School over the past year. Your
gifts make a real difference in the lives of every student in this school and
allow us to continue to provide an authentic Catholic experience in a world class
academic environment. Our students, faculty, staff, programs and facilities are
all enhanced by your generous contributions and continued support.
In the past year we have pursued new development opportunities while at the same
time solidified our financial aid program to an unprecedented level. I am proud to say
that through a combination of EITC funds and our own financial aid reserves, we
have aided a record number of families in their goal to participate in the abundant
opportunities to learn and grow offered at Saints Peter and Paul. We are striving
to continue to operate more efficiently and reach out to our community more
effectively. We remain aware of the challenges of operating a successful, sustainable
educational institution in 2014 and we remain proud of the experience each student
receives in our school community. We pledge to continue to aggressively pursue
academic excellence, faith formation and the notion of service to others in our
efforts to educate the whole person in the Catholic tradition.

BRINGING ENTREPRENEURSHIP
TO MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS
On April 11, 2014, Saints Peter and
Paul School proudly announced
the Grand Opening of the Saints
Peter and Paul Hall Mall, a student
run and operated school store.
Over the several months, middle
grade students met weekly to
learn the logistics of a starting up
a retail business and preparing for
daily operations. From naming the
store, to the selection and pricing
of merchandise, to inventory
control and cash management
procedures and marketing to their
schoolmates, these students are
making the decisions.
The Hall Mall garnered the support
of some prominent local busin­
esses, including Brennan’s Office
Interiors. Brennan’s Office Interiors,
partnered with the SSPP Hall Mall
team to create a functional design for

ALUMNI DATA

Alumni Profile: Dani Doran ’10
The Miss United States Organization promotes the intellect and moral character of women
and provides a platform of community service. Therefore, it was no surprise when SSPP
alumnae, Dani Doran ’10, was named Miss Teen Pennsylvania United States 2014.
Since Kindergarten, Dani has been an active
participant of Girl Scouts of the USA and has put
forth tremendous effort into volunteer work that
benefits those in need. Her journey with the Girl
Scouts inspired Dani to take leadership roles in
community service projects that included making
more than 100 meals for Aide for Friends, making
toys and coordinating donation drives for SPCA,
making more than 100 pillow cases for Dupont
Hospital and as part of her Gold Award project,
Dani led an initiative that made more than 100
mastectomy pillows for The Cancer Center of Paoli
Hospital.
Most recently, Dani wrote and illustrated My
Mommy is Sick with Cancer. This book was written
as a reaction to the relationships that Dani has with

breast cancer survivors. In her book research, Dani
interviewed four women who have experienced
life as a mom battling cancer. This is an important
message that will help other families as they learn to
live with this terrible disease. Dani donated copies
of the book to The Cancer Center of Paoli Hospital,
as well as other local non-profit organizations.
Dani’s path was not always easy. She was diagnosed
with ADHD and Dyslexia while attending Saints Peter
and Paul School, and had to work hard to achieve
academically. “I might have to study twice as hard
to get it and it might take twice as long to get it, but
it is all worth it in the end.” Dani graduated from Villa
Maria Academy in 2014 receiving highest honors in
art and computer science. She currently attends
Kutztown University majoring in Education.

The Gift of EITC
The Educational Improvement Tax Credit allows
Pennsylvania businesses to donate to non-profit
scholarship organizations to receive a tax credit
up to 90 percent during the year in which the gift
is made. It is an easy way for business owners
in the state of Pennsylvania to make a tax-free
contribution to Saints Peter and Paul School. These
contributions provide need based scholarships
to enrolled families. This year, Saints Peter and
Paul School received EITC contributions totaling
$165,518. Every dollar will be allocated to Saints
Peter and Paul School families to provide tuition
assistance during the 2014-2015 academic year.
If your business is an S corporation, a general
partnership or a limited partnership and pays
taxes in Pennsylvania, ask your tax adviser if
those taxes can be transferred instead to the
EITC fund. EITC is the easiest way for Pennsylvania
businesses to support Pennsylvania schools.

Saints Peter and Paul School’s operating budget reflects our priority
of program excellence. Like most Catholic Schools, tuition does not
cover the cost of a Saints Peter and Paul School education. We rely
heavily on our Parish and individual donors for financial support.
The Annual Fund provided necessary financial support to the 20132014 operating expenses. The Fundraisers, such as the Golf Outing,
Spring Auction, Scrip and other fundraisers provided financial
support for projects that enhanced the classroom experiences
for students. EITC and Scholarships provided financial support to
individual families in need of tuition assistance during the 2013-14
academic year. Miscellaneous Income indicates revenue received
from the after school program, C.A.R.E.S and from the school
cafeteria.
The operating expenses are heavily skewed toward support for
the academic program. This includes: salary and benefits, books,
materials, equipment, technology hardware and infrastructure. Like
all institutions, SSPP must maintain the physical plant.

ANNUAL FUND
EITC
The purpose of the Saints Peter and Paul School
Annual Fund is to support the growth of the school
and narrow the gap between what we charge in tuition
and our actual operating expenses. Tuition covers
approximately 56 percent of the operating budget and
Saints Peter and Paul Parish has historically made
up the difference between the cost of tuition and the
actual cost of educating each student. The Annual
Fund will provide vital unrestricted funds that will go
directly into the operating budget of Saints Peter and
Paul School and allow tuitions to remain affordable for
our families.
The Educational Improvement Tax Credit provides
a tax credit on the Pennsylvania’s corporate income
tax for contributions to schools which give tuition
assistance scholarships to eligible children.
Whether you are a parent, alumni, faculty or staff
member or friend of Saints Peter and Paul School,
the Annual Fund is a significant way to show how
much you value the curriculum of excellence and
the community of faith Saints Peter and Paul School
continues to provide.
SUPPORT OUR EVENTS
Saints Peter and Paul School hosts two major
fundraising events each year.
The Monsignor Foley Golf Outing is held each
September and 100% of the proceeds are dedicated
to benefitting our School Faculty.
The Spring Auction is held each spring and 100% of
the proceeds are dedicated to the enhancement of the
classroom experience. Recent years have allowed the
classrooms to make major upgrades in technology.
