LaClique, Camille O’Sullivan enjoys a
formidable international reputation for her
intensely dramatic interpretations of the songs
of Brel, Cave, Waits, Bowie and more.
The multi-award-winning singer has stunned
audiences around the world with her 5-star
sell-out performances, including Sydney Opera

Later with Jools Holland and recently won the
coveted Herald Angel award for her RSC solo

First taken to Brighton hearts in 2004, Camille
subsequently won the award for best music act
and best international performer in 2005. For
these concerts Camille will be performing old
favourites and hidden gems selected from the
last 10 years of her performances.
Dark, sexy, fierce, amusing and mesmerizing
she transforms each song she performs into an
intense, emotional and theatrical experience,
inextricably drawing her audience into a world
illuminated by the dark and the light. Expect
joy and pure passion.
When she sings it’s as though her breath is
soaked in paraffin - one spark, and the whole
room would ignite.
– Daily Telegraph
She treats every song as an intense emotional
journey; hypnotic; such an outpouring of
passion you can’t resist being drawn into her
web.
– The Independent
A cross between Sally Bowles, Patti Smith & PJ
Harvey… a major star.
– The Scotsman
Ravishing; a superb performer and great singer...
The star is her singing voice: a deep, sultry
instrument that might have been created to
express desolate love.

topical comedy. Performed by Christopher
Green.
Following a couple of late-night Channel 4
shows, Hoyle spectacularly killed the Divine
David off during a show at the Streatham Ice
Arena in 2000 and retreated to Manchester
for “a period of reflection”. He returned to
TV screens in 2005 in Chris Morris’ Nathan
Barley, then began performing live again,

Hoyle’s biting satire,
bravura costumes,
wicked comic timing and
compelling charisma

he’s performed at the Soho

After last year’s fantastic visit to the Spiegeltent,
Le Foulard swooshes in from the continent
bigger, better and more artistic than ever.
Fresh from their Australian tour where they
played to sold out crowds and 5 star reviews,
Head First Acrobats are presenting their show
Elixir for the first time in the UK.
Three enthusiastic and acrobatic scientists
attempt to create the elixir of life. The mayhem
that follows is a perfect mix where physical
prowess meets physical comedy.

10/10 – Talkfringe
Elixir will take you on a journey into the realm
of impossibility, with some of the rarest and
most dangerous circus apparatus in the world.
These three have mastered circus skills thought
to be impossible,
they will make you
question the limits of
the human body.
Watch & be amazed
as they spin upside
down in the mesmerising roue cyr, jump
meters into the air
and perform backflips on the teeterboard and balance
upside down on

acrobatic show, with
hard tricks, sweat

timing. More action

laughs then a standup show and way
more fun than you
can imagine.

Our Perfect Child follows the making of a
psychopath through the journey of a young
boy’s life; observing how you and the people
around you carry psychopathic traits. The piece
acknowledges how the smallest things in the
process of growing up can influence psychopathic behaviours. Questioning qualities that
you the reader and the audience have and
exploring the morality into how anyone on this
planet may indeed, perhaps unknowingly, be a
psychopath. Heavily influenced by experimental
and Avant Garde theatre, Our Perfect Child will
take you on a complex journey as you explore
the evolution of the psychopathic mind.

Chumbawumba vocalist Dunstan Bruce
delivers an illustrated talk, full of humour,
irony and politics that will explore, dissect
and illuminate the rollercoaster ride that
took the band from anarcho-squat gigs to
Madison Square Gardens and back again.
He will tell a ridiculous, hilarious but

mainstream with their anarchist politics.
Dunstan will also take you on a journey into
the belly of the music industry beast, sharing
tales of Chumbawamba’s subversive pranking,
asking big questions like, “did we actually
achieve anything?”, “can you ever hope to
change the world with music?” and “just
why did we soak John Prescott at the Brits?”

BRIGHTON’S
’COUNTER’ CULTURE:
INFINITY FOODS AND THE
PUBLIC HOUSE BOOKSHOP
At The Bosco Theater
£10/£8 conc | 14+ | 90 Mins
Wed 13 May 19:30 - 21:00
The Public House Bookshop ran for over
twenty years, hidden away down a tiny side
street in Hove and described by Ferlinghetti
as ´Brighton’s answer to the City Lights Bookshop. It attracted the likes of Alan Ginsberg,
Wiliam Burroughs and Ivor Cutler, was a portal for ‘subversive & dangerous’ literature and
was often the target of violence from the far
right. When the bookshop closed its doors in
1999 it was a tragic loss for the town.
Infinity Foods began in 1970 as a macrobiotic café on the university campus. 45
years later it is a Brighton landmark with a
workforce of a hundred, countless awards
under its organic, meat-free belt and selling
every flavour of tofu known to man. Brighton
simply would not be the same without it.
Tonight the stories and early history of
these iconic shops are recounted by their
co-founders (and excellent raconteurs), Peter
Deadman and Richard Cupidi, but beware
– this night may contain subversive tales of
explosions, narcotics and facial hair.

THE ROAD TO
UTOPIA
At The Bosco Theater
£10/£8 conc | 14+ | 90 Mins
Wed 20 May 19:30 - 21:00
Imagine a world without government, crime
or pollution. Imagine a world where energy
is free to all and our streets and cities feel
like real, sharing communities. Imagine a
world where men finally take a back seat
& women are in charge. Hippy nonsense,
a mad utopian pipe dream or could it be
entirely achievable in our lifetime?
Robert Llewellyn (best known as Kryten in
Red Dwarf), Stevyn Colgan (QI elf), David
Bramwell (author of The No9 Bus to Utopia)
and Nicole Pohl (editor of Utopian Studies)
have explored their own ideas of utopia
through their novels, memoirs and journals.
Tonight they will challenge the popular
notion that the world is destined to go to
rack & ruin, in favour of a more optimist
vision for the future.
Mixing stories, philosophy, humour, minilectures and debate, Robert, Stevyn, David
and Nicole will share their research into
everything from free energy and a sharing
economy to a world matriarchy. In doing so,
they will re-invigorate your soul and send
you home in the knowledge that it’s going
to be ok after all (especially if you buy their
books at the end).

The
What is light, this invisible vibration that
informs us of the world it both creates and
powers? The more we know of it the more
profound is its mystery.
Polymath Gregory Sams is author of the book
Sun of God, natural food pioneer, creator of
the original VegeBurger and founder of the
world’s only shop ever dedicated to chaos theory. Tonight, however, Greg will be melding
the vision of the ancients with the discoveries
of quantum physics to help us understand why
light infuses all spiritual practice.
We will look at light through the eyes of Persian prophet Zoroaster, Egyptian pharaoh
Akhenaten and Plato – through spectacles
that have been clouded over for millennia.
When we explore our modern understanding of light, it becomes clear that these
ancients were speaking the same language
as today’s quantum physicists. And they
too recognized light to be beyond human
comprehension, in line with Richard Feynman’s famous quip that anyone who says
they understood quantum mechanics doesn’t
understand quantum mechanics.
Tonight you will understand why it is beyond
understanding, and that will make sense and
possibly blow your mind...

Crap Music Rave Party guarantees a wild night
out that will leave you voiceless the next day.
– Rip It Up Adelaide
From 1992 until 2009, the dazzling & dynamic
trio of Boogaloo Stu, Dynamite Sal & Dolly Rocket ruled Brighton clubland with their riotous
and playfully anarchic club night Dynamite
Boogaloo. Now, the legendary pop’n’cabaret
knees-up returns after a 6-year hiatus, for one
night only!
You might end up bearing him onto your shoulders through the pub onto the street, with joy in
your heart. – Time Out London
Expect a Greatest Hits set of party anthems
from DJ Sal, and of course inimitable smutty
cabaret and gameshows with Stu and Dolly.

When Dynamite Boogaloo launched way back
then, it was very much an alternative to the
bland house music clubs of the era.
Worshippers at the Church Of Boogaloo every
Thursday night at The Joint were dressed up
and drenched in sweat, whilst working the
pole to a wildly eclectic mix of pop bangers,
disco classics and indie smashes. Remember Too Much Is Never Enough!

Guilty Pleasures is London’s biggest, boldest,
brashest and best night out. Packed with
relentlessly-energetic DJs, acrobatic bedazzling
dancers, live bands and speciality performers
galore, for ten years it has established itself as
the capital’s number one top spot for a P.A.R.T.Y.
Playing the greatest musical smashers from
the pop and party spectrum, joining the dotes
between past & present. Depeche Mode to
Daft Punk, Buggles to Beyoncé, Wild Cherry
to Katy Perry, Hanson to Haim, Whitney to
Winehouse... all played with unabashed joy
and passion that’ll have you bouncing off the
walls and head over heels with excitement. It’s
what Saturday nights were invented for!

Traumfrau’s queer disco for the unusual
crowd makes its Fringe debut in style(ish)
at the Spiegeltent. For one night only the
most colourful crowd in town takes over
the Spiegeltent for some uncompromising,
unashamed, glittery, imaginative, gender
bending and beyond dancing. It’s going to
be outrageously fun, disgracefully fun, seedy
and sordid.
@PleasuresGuilty
This unique party is a blend of disco, live
performance and art: get ready to enter a
parallel dancefloor reality, party time will
never feel the same again.
Dress Code: break all fashion rules – and
remember that more is in fact more!
Relax in our marvellous mirrored & velvet
booths – ales, fine wines and cocktails available until 2am. Decadent splendour, drinks
and dancing, who could ask for more?!
