The San Bernardino flying squirrel is one of the
most distinctive nocturnal residents of Southern
California’s high-elevation conifer forests. Like
spotted owls, flying squirrels thrive in mature forests
with big trees, large snags and plenty of downed
logs that foster the growth of the truffle fungi
they eat. But this squirrel is in danger of being lost
forever from the landscape. The San Bernardino
flying squirrel is thought to have disappeared
from the San Jacinto Mountains in the past few
decades. The remaining population- which is
restricted to the upper elevation forests of the
San Bernardino Mountains, faces numerous
threats. With climate change, the squirrels’ forest
habitat is moving upslope as temperatures warm,
and drought threatens its truffle fungus food,
which depends on wet, cool conditions. Forestmanagement practices that remove canopy
cover, snags and downed logs are degrading
the squirrel’s habitat, while ever- increasing
urban development is encroaching on its
mountain home.

Interscope recording artist Jasmine V is one of the most prolific new talents within the land of music. This diamond
has had some harsh times, but has constantly managed to prevail. Taking off at a very early age, she has hurdled
many challenges, from shaky record deals to first-hand encounters with domestic violence. This year, she turns
21 in December, and no longer wishes to be in the shadows of her erstwhile love interest, Justin Bieber, well, at
least as the lead girl in his “Baby” music video. She’s been featured in Teen Vogue and shared the cover of
Latina Magazine with Becky G. More recent accomplishments include releasing her single “That’s Me Right There”
feat. Kendrick Lamar as well as being named “Latina of the Year” by Cosmopolitan, alongside Demi Lovato and
Perez Hilton.

In October, Sam Smith swept the MOBO Awards,
taking home awards for “Best R&B/Soul Act,” “Best
Male,” “Best Song” (“Stay With Me”) and “Best
Album.” Additionally, the 22-year old British sensation
walked away with a Q Award for “Best New Act” –
earning five awards in just one day.
Smith teamed up with Disclosure to write “Latch” – a
song that would prove to be one of 2012’s biggest
singles. (“We wrote that song the first day I met them!”
he says.) This success was matched a few months
later when Smith’s collaboration with British producer
Naughty Boy – the infectious “La La La” – immediately
became a #1 single in the UK. With his popularity
suddenly and rapidly on the rise, in late 2013, Smith
released Nirvana – a four-track EP that gave a glimpse
of Smith’s considerable range, both as a singer and a
songwriter. As 2014 dawned and Smith busied himself
with the business of writing and recording his proper
debut, he found himself nominated for the BRIT’s Critic
Choice Award and listed for BBC’s Sound of 2014 poll,
both of which he ultimately won.
Produced by Jimmy Napes and including
collaborations with the likes of Ben Ash and Eg White,
In The Lonely Hour gives Smith the platform to finally
exercise the full range of his abilities. Whether it be
taking a jab at commercialism in “Money On My
Mind” or the wrenching plea of the album’s smash
single, “Stay With Me,” the record eschews false
sentimentality and aims for something bigger, darker,
and ultimately way more beautiful.
“I didn’t want to overthink things,” says Smith of the
record. “I basically just decided that I was going to go
out and live my life…and then write songs about it. As
simple as that. I want to look back on this record when
I’m older and have it be a reminder that I really lived.”
G-Eazy
Raised in Oakland, CA, G-Eazy made the decision to enroll at Loyola
University New Orleans because of their strong music industry program
where he started to cultivate and craft his own inimitable style while still in
college. For the budding artist, the partying wasn’t nearly as important as
creating. He missed more than a few keggers so he could lay down tracks
in his dorm room for a series of buzz-generating mixtapes culminating in his
2011 breakout, The Endless Summer.
With the release of The Endless Summer, G-Eazy started to garner attention
from both the backpackers and the mainstream. MtvU nominated him for
“Best Music on Campus,” while he played to packed houses opening for
superstars such as Drake and Lil Wayne.
Diploma in hand, he hit 2012 running. During that summer’s
Warped Tour, he produced, wrote, and recorded what
would become his full-length debut, Must Be Nice.
Blending elegant production with a sly, slick, and smooth
flow, the album landed at #3 on the iTunes Hip Hop Chart,
completely independent of a label.
That next chapter is already unfolding. 2013 saw
G-Eazy complete his first headline tour, selling out
shows everywhere from New York, Milwaukee, and Salt
Lake City to Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles –
eventually, Lil Wayne tapped him to join his America’s
Most Wanted Tour.
The response has only grown more fervent, with
G-Eazy’s second nationwide headline tour leading to
the release of his highly anticipated new album These
Things Happen, which topped the Billboard Hip-Hop/
R&B and Top Rap Albums Charts, also earning the
#3 spot on the Billboard 200 and the Top Digital Albums
Chart. “I hope to connect with people,” he concludes.
“If the music inspires someone, that’s incredible. It’s
about a deeper relationship with the listener that
hopefully lasts a long time. You’re with me now.”

Tokio Hotel
Tokio Hotel have sold 7 million records worldwide, performed for 500,000 people in front of the Eiffel
Tower and gone Platinum in 68 countries.
But they traded it all for total anonymity in Los Angeles, where founding members Bill and Tom Kaulitz
were anything but the biggest show in town.
“When we first moved to America, I couldn’t even hear the name Tokio Hotel. I was so over it,” Bill
Kaulitz says. “We needed to figure out what we wanted to do, step away from the music and the
career to clear our heads and start fresh.”
“I would say, ‘I’m not sure I even want to do this anymore, the price we had to pay, all the craziness,
maybe it’s not what I want to do for the rest of my life,’” Tom Kaulitz echoes. “But here, we were
able to discover that we want to do music again.”
The end result is their new album, Kings of Suburbia (including the single “Love Who Loves You
Back”), a relentless collection of songs that burn bright and never fade away.
“I feel like it was the first real life we’ve ever had. We had come out of school at 15, started the
band, and from that moment on, there was no private life, only Tokio Hotel,” Bill says. “We were
running away from the success, we were trying to get away. We just wanted to live.”
“With this album, everything is exactly the way we want it, and I feel like this is the first time it’s that
way,” he adds. “We did everything we wanted; it’s not like somebody wrote a song that I have to
sell.” With Kings of Suburbia, they’ve rediscovered their lust for life – and their passion for music. Away
from intense spotlight of fame, and immersed in a world of simple (and occasionally audacious)
pleasures, they’ve created a new world for themselves.

Geoff Barrow and Ben Salisbury for Alex Garland’s
Directorial Debut Ex Machina score – Geoff Barrow is
a founding member of Portishead and producer/label
owner of Invada Records UK. Ben Salisbury is a soundtrack
composer with over 200 film and TV credits to his name,
including the last three of David Attenborough’s Life series
as well as the Beyoncé documentary/ hagiography Life Is
But a Dream.
Barrow and Salisbury previously worked together on an
unused score for the 2012 movie Dredd (adapted for the
big screen by Alex Garland). When Barrow and Salisbury
revisited and started expanding upon this early material,
they decided to continue writing what was essentially
soundtrack music. The album was eventually released
as Drokk: Music Inspired by Mega-City One, an album of
Carpenter-esque dystopian electronica. This was released
on Invada Records in the spring of 2012. The love of
sparse, electronic soundtracks that has manifested itself
in the “Drokk” project has also led Barrow and his team to
license Cliff Martinez’s much-acclaimed Drive score for a
special vinyl edition on his Invada label.
Geoff Barrow says, “It’s been great for Ben and me to be
working with Alex Garland again, and hopefully we have
written the kind of score [that] an intense sci-fi thriller like
this needs.”
Barrow and Salisbury met over 10 years ago when they
both joined a Bristol football team for old men. After many
disastrous games, however, they decided that they might
be more productive working on a music project together.
Other work commitments kept them apart until late
2010, when the pair met up with a screenwriter to discuss
some possible work on a feature film project, and their
collaborative writing relationship has since begun.

The smoothness of power comes from the naturally aspirated V12, and together with Dynamic Stability

The Land Rover Series I, built after the WWII, were
vehicles loosely inspired by the Willys Jeep utilized by the
US military forces. They were powered by a 1.6 Liter in-line
4-cylinder engine developing 50 bhp at 4,000rpm and 80
lb/ft at 2,000rpm. Many of them were pressed into utility
service, and images of them were the main vehicles
behind a safari team or used by National Geographic
explorers going where no one dared to go.
The 2015 Range Rover Autobiography Black is a far cry
from those days and shows how history can change the
world we live in. A little shorter than a 2015 Chevrolet
Suburban, it’s still a huge vehicle but nothing could be
as different because it is the showcase of what the most

The 5.0 liter V-8 engine produces 510 hp with 461 ft
lbs torque, and is mated to an 8-speed automatic
electronic gearbox with full-time four-wheel drive, 2
speed electronic transfer box with electronic center
differential and four-wheel electronic traction control;
you don’t have to do anything but just let the ECU
decide everything for you unless you want to go rock
climbing, in which case it will tell you on the monitor
what to do manually.
On paved surfaces, the ride is supple and comfortable,
and if need be in the Sport mode, the Range Rover
tightens up and the suspension becomes a tad firmer,
and overall feel of the road is a little bit more sensitive.
With Dynamic Response and Adaptive Dynamics,
Electronic Traction Control, Dynamic Stability Control,
Roll Stability Control and Cornering Brake Control,
you are in command of the road. The super-charged
engine is quiet and powerful enough that highway
on-ramps, over-taking and plain spirited driving are a
complete joy.
Of course, the Range Rover is at home off road; the
permanent four-wheel drive with the Terrain Response
2 System with Electronic Cross Linked Air Suspension
(with variable ride height) as well as Hill Descent Control

“When I was younger, like, I was little, I’d always
be singing but I didn’t think I could make
it to a career,” says Jasmine Villegas (aka
Jasmine V) who recently released a five-track
EP called That’s Me Right There (including the
spectacular title tune featuring Kendrick Lamar,
of course). Currently working towards her
debut album release in 2015, the 21-year-old
songstress is surely gearing up for another big
year to come.
Villegas originally started acting and modeling
at age 9 (“I was just so hyped to get into all
of that”), but the seemingly gorgeous career
choice came with sacrifices. “I’m originally from
San Jose, and LA is 6 hours away from my home
so I had to travel back and forth all the time. I
had to become home-schooled because my
school wasn’t allowing me to take off certain
days. I was away from my dad, and then, my
family slowly started staying in San Jose while I
was in LA. Then I eventually moved to LA, and I
was away from my family,” she opens up.
“If I could talk to my 9-year-old self, I would
warn her about so many things. I’d be like,
‘Don’t talk to that person,’ ‘Don’t date that
person,’ ‘Don’t do this,’ ‘Don’t say that,’”
Villegas adds with a laugh. “But at the same
time, every mistake and everything you’ve
done this far have gotten you to the point
where you’re supposed to be.”

being able to perform in front of
such a big crowd,” she recalls.
“At that time, I didn’t have an
album out or anything, I was just
performing my own songs that I
had but I had the opportunity – it
was mind-blowing.”
A turning point came when she
performed the national anthem for the
Los Angeles Clippers at the age of 11;
around that time, a video of her singing
was sent to Gabriella Mosci – who would
become her manager – when Mosci was
working for Dame Dash (most famously
known as Jay Z’s ex-manager). Dash
subsequently signed Villegas on her 12th
birthday. “A year after I got signed, things
got a little shaky, and Dame Dash and I
parted ways but I’m still in contact with
him and his family,” she says. “I have a lot
of respect for him. He definitely believed
in me when I was 12, and I don’t know
anybody who would really do that.”

however, Villegas found herself
in an abusive relationship, which
inspired her to create 2012’s
“Didn’t Mean It,” and its video,
vividly depicting her experience
as a victim of domestic violence.
“I was in the studio, and it was
when I was with my boyfriend
at that time that I was going
through domestic violence with.
And, I went outside real quick
before he left, and we got into an
argument,” she says with a pause.
“It got crazy, and I was really
upset. I went back to the studio,
and the songwriter was like, ‘What
do you wanna put to a song?’
And, I was just like, ‘I’m so mad
and people say stuff that they
don’t mean, and if they didn’t
mean it, they shouldn’t have said
it.’ And, she was like, ‘Perfect.’”
“Didn’t Mean It” has encouraged
many of those who have gone
through abusive relationships,
especially young women. “I was
definitely scared to speak out
when I was in the situation, and
I thought that I was gonna be in
the situation forever, so I was like,
‘I don’t wanna say anything,’”
says Villegas. “So I just wanted to
be a voice for those people and
be like, ‘You have a voice, you
can say no, you can tell people
– you can get out of the situation
before it’s too late.’”

asserts. “For a young woman to be really happy
in life, we’ve just got to have really good people
around us, and set goals for ourselves and we
should always work hard at them every day. And,
we have to stop comparing ourselves to other
girls. If you’re insecure with yourself and you see
another girl who’s beautiful, you start to just hate
that girl. Instead of fighting and comparing, we
can always work together because we girls should
stand together, we can’t have a competition; it’s
not how it’s supposed to be.”
When it comes to setting goals, her to-do list goes
on: more music and acting; her
own clothing/makeup lines;
being in a movie; and her own

Healdsburg, a town founded by the Pomo Indians is now home to some of California’s best
harvested wines and olives in the Sonoma County wine country. Just weeks ago, 360 was
invited to frolic throughout the quaint town staying in the most charming suites. Our press tour
itinerary included: wine tasting, bike riding, a picnic, a manageable hike in the Armstrong
Redwoods and a cooking demonstration at Relish Culinary Institute.
We lodged at the Dry Creek Inn (a Best Western franchise partner) located nearby the
Russian River and Lake Sonoma. To give you a brief history, it is said that the Russian River
was once heavily populated by the Southern Pomo Native Americans – which were later
displaced by Russian settlers just a few decades before the Gold Rush. Dry Creek Inn
matches the charming aura of the city with a Tuscan-style feel and rooms adorned with
Native American-influenced decor. We stayed in a suite equipped with a Jacuzzi tub,
electric fire place and a private terrace. The Camellia Inn, located on 211 North Street in
Healdsburg, is a decadent bed-and-breakfast. The interior is a blend of modern luxury with
southern appeal. Grape Leaf Inn, at 539 Johnson Street is a restored Queen Anne Victorian.
This spot has been awarded as one of the “Top Five Most Romantic Hideaways in North
America” by Condé Nast Johansens, and for the “Golden Grape Reward” repeatedly
by NBC-11.
One of our favorite eats in Sonoma
County is the Spoonbar (spoonbar.
com) located at the H2hotel,
right there in Healdsburg. Leading
the cooks is Top Chef finalist Louis
Maldonado, who has created a
menu stacked with a wide range
of mixed drinks and an eclectic
arrangement of seafood entrees
that have keen Japanese elements

with Healdsburg’s harvested Pinot
Noir. We visited several wineries
including Dry Creek Vineyard

The team got a little adventurous when our hosts
took us on a mini hike through the Armstrong
Redwoods National Park. It is as colossal as it
sounds, not to be misconstrued by the description
of our “mini” hike. In fact, the Redwood species
remains one of the tallest and oldest trees in the
world and are mostly found in California and
Oregon. While these species are considered
endangered due to natural disasters such as
fires and earthquakes, they still reign over the
West Coast. We were able to witness them at the
National Park standing tall in all their glory. The
bike riding occurred in tandem with educational
based wine-tasting; that was multitasking.

Fresh eats are always a favorite. This school takes
advantage of the rich resources the surrounding

are considered joyous among wine enthusiasts.
Though, not the popular town of its class,
Healdsburg is Sonoma’s sweet romance that is
not much of a secret now that 360 has occupied.

Arkansas
Emily Mistretta + Stella Dugall
Our 360 team was invited to visit the generous
land of Arkansas. We stayed at the Village Creek
State Park (arkansasstateparks.com/villagecreek)
in a charming cabin where we had to ignite logs
in our fireplace every night. The entire trip was
a surprisingly transformative experience. Every
morning, we were greeted by a pack of deer on
the hillside of our comfy cabin. This visit marked
our first-time stargazing escapade of the Taurus
constellation that is proven to be a magical,
astrological awakening that touched the entire
team. The constellation displayed itself clearly
in the night sky. We sought out the unity with
nature as we cruised around in a golf cart, a night
safari-like activity, in search for disgruntled wildlife.
The cold front incited us to bundle up in tight
layers. The park was filled with warm autumn
colors that surrounded and distracted us from
our chilled bones.
One of the best excursions was when we started at the Blanchard Springs Caverns located within the
Blanchard Springs Recreation Center in Sylamore Ranger District of the Ozark National Forest. We were
just in the vicinity of the perfect view of the Ozark Mountains; these are truly a sight for sore eyes. They
rule the northern part of the Delta on the west side. Standing fairly tall, they are called mountains,
however, this region is merely a very high plateau.
One of the most transformative experiences we encountered was the opportunity to hike up the
infamous Trail of Tears in Arkansas. The energy of the Native Americans was preserved in the dirt that
slapped us with each gust of wind, and the emission from the tired rocks was felt from us all. The Trail of
Tears is a crucial period in American history when a hardship presented itself to the Native Americans
with the Indian Removal Act of 1830. This law was passed by the Andrew Jackson Administration that
forced the displacement of many Natives of the land, including the uprooting of the Cherokees that
migrated most of the population West. The path of the trail was expansive, haunting and very spacious.
Additionally, the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center included a barn studio
associated with Ernest Hemingway and the family home of his second wife, Pauline Pfeiffer:
hemingway.astate.edu - there, we learned about literature of the period, 1930s world events,
agriculture, family lifestyles and relationships, and development of Northeast Arkansas during the
Depression and New Deal eras.

Johnny Cash’s childhood home is restored as a museum by Arizona State University Heritage
Sites, where tours give curious eyes a glimpse of the “humbling” day in the life of one of
country music’s greatest legends. This house had no electricity and relied on an ice box system
equipped with a sign outside the dining area that would inform the ice delivery service of how
much was needed for the Cash home. Arizona State University also powers the Southern Tenant
Farmers Museum (stfm.astate.edu) that aims to convey the legacy of Clay East’s founding of
the Southern Tenant Farmers Union throughout the agricultural labor movements along the
Mississippi River Delta.
The Hampson Archeological Museum (arkansasstateparks.com/hampsonmuseum) showcased
various artifacts specific to the region, much of which were of Native American ancestry. One
of the most provocative pieces was a human head effigy by a Native American group. We
even had the opportunity to string an ancient bow. It may have taken us three tries to launch a
single bow, but we got the hang of it. The Boden pottery were also gorgeous and some of the
only ones discovered right here in Northern America.
To top it off, our favorite restaurant to grub was Greg & Jim’s (facebook.com/pages/GregJims/167217366640864). 360’s tip: Try the Smothered White Gravy sandwich. This delicacy is
complete with bacon, sausage and tattered tots. MeMe’s Cafe (arkansas.com/attractions/
detail.aspx?id=95820) has the best chicken steaks ever known to man. Their peanut butter cake

Gustavo Schmidt’s work begins with the same elements as
the best Renaissance artists: strong drawing and composition,
an awareness of Sacred Geometry, and a mastery of
perspective and proportion gathered from years of arduous
study and observation. His brilliant use of color and fastidious
attention to detail and surface pays homage to traditional
painting. Yet, it is beneath the aesthetic surface that
Schmidt’s uniqueness begins to emerge. As we contemplate
his compositions, the images seem to emanate an almost
mystical presence – which engages the viewer on a deeper
level. The objects and their interrelations seem to make
suggestions, both psychologically and emotionally. They

and many other critics have given it rave reviews. Chris Rock and

Gugu Mbatha-Raw turns in an award-worthy performance as a
Rihanna-esque troubled pop star – and that’s really Mbatha-Raw
singing all those R&B/Pop songs and killing a rendition of Nina Simone’s
“Blackbird.” Minnie Driver should be nominated for an Oscar for her
portrayal of a mother willing to sell her daughter’s soul to the highest

Recently, we had the chance to drop in on the ER track at Auto Club Speedway in
Fontana, California (a new facility open to the public on Saturday and Sunday). As
soon as you pull into your parking space, you are immediately taken by the harmonic
sound of high-end sports car engines.
After entering the white circus-like tent, we were greeted by a swarm of professional
staff members. Unfortunately, we had to bypass our racing class for a private instruction
inside a Porsche Cayenne SUV due to tardiness. No worries though, because we
learned all of our “racing jargon” during the test drive.
Once on the track, we were drawn to tears (of immense joy) as this SUV was pushed
to its limits. If properly driven, this car managed to corner at top speeds of 60+ mph.
The driver’s precision was extremely impressive. Moments later, we were in our helmets
and seated behind the wheel in our white and lime-green respective Lamborghini.
Even though we rode in tandem with instructors in our passenger seats, we were
encouraged to hit the apex at top speeds. After just 3 laps, we were floored and ready
to pull over. Adrenaline pounded through our veins at levels never experienced before.
Very reminiscent of our skydive expedition in Johannesburg, South Africa, where we
jumped out of a plane at five to six thousand feet.

These four spring collections will be available starting January 15, 2015,
and will be sold at the brand’s more than 2,000 retail partners worldwide
