• 40% allowance for the first million € of the budget and 38% tax rate deduction for the rest of the
production budget
• Maximum deduction will be 5.4 million €
• Producer and investor must reside in the Canary Islands
• Canaries Audiovisual Work Certificate, Spanish Nationality and cultural test are required
• The Spanish film incentive 20-18% deduction with a limit of 3 million € is improved in the Canary
Islands thanks to the Canary Island Economic and Tax System

- TV Series: 20% of the season to be filmed in the Canary Islands

Work Certificate
• Hire local professionals: Minimum one head of department, a
lead or support actor resident in the Canary Islands
• If co-production, the Canary producer must contribute over
20% of the production’s cost
• If financial co-production, the Canary co-producer must
contribute between 10% and 25% of the production’s cost
• The production company based in the Canary Islands has to
apply for the certificate and must be listed in the Canaries
Audiovisual Companies Registry

• Local production or service production company must be tax resident in the Canary Islands
• The Spanish film incentive 15% deduction with a limit of 2.5 million € is improved in the Canary Islands
