Playing Fields from April 1 - October 31. Additional information

Park Rules
1. Damaging or removing park property, natural features and wildlife is prohibited.
2. No littering or dumping.
3. Loud and disruptive behavior is prohibited.
4. Advertising or commercial enterprise requires permission from the City Manager.
5. No camping without a written permit from the City Manager.
6. No fires except in designated areas. No wood provided.
7. Hunting and trapping is prohibited.
8. The only pets allowed in parks are domestic dogs and cats which must be controlled at all
times and secured to a leash no longer than 6 feet. Pet owners must clean up after their pets
and carry a device for this purpose.
Weather Cancellation
Parks and Recreation classes and programs that are held in a school are cancelled on days
when Pickerington Local School District schools are closed due to inclement weather.

Each week coaches will teach lively and
positive classes that help children build sports
skills and coordination such as throwing, kicking, jumping,
balance, and agility. In each class we will feature different
athletic activities, with lively music, colorful sports and
fitness equipment, and plenty of exercise for your child.
This program provides excellent preparation for organized
athletics for your child. Children should dress to be active
and all equipment is provided.

Youth Drawing
Class is designed to have fun and be creative as we draw
and finish a piece each week. Students will learn drawing
skills in cartooning, still life, graphics and art history and
more. Sessions are independent of each other and new
material is always taught. All supplies are included.

Hummingbirds Soccer
Children ages 3 - 6 have fun and learn the basics of
soccer: dribbling, passing, trapping, shooting, defense,
and positioning. Each session consists of instruction in
each aspect of the game, participation in fun drills that
are designed to teach fundamental skills to such young
children and low-key, non-competitive games. Players will
be put into age-appropriate groups. All coaching will be
conducted by Jump Start Sports staff, but parents may
assist. Classes will be one hour between 4:30 - 6:30pm.
Parents will receive team schedules one week prior to first
class.

Room to Run Stables Horse Camp
Summer Camp was a huge success, so we are excited to
announce a Fall program! We are offering a mini version
of our Summer program. Come out and enjoy the farm
from 5-7pm on Monday - Wednesday. Daily horseback
riding, grooming, hayrides, games, crafts and bonfires
are just a few of the things your child will enjoy. Fall
is a beautiful time of year at the farm so reserve your
spot today and get ready to make some memories! We
recommend wearing jeans and sunscreen. Please no flip
flops or sandals.

On guard! Have you ever wanted to be Zorro,
D’Artagnan, the Dread Pirate Roberts, Captain
Jack Sparrow, Robin Hood or a Jedi Knight? Learn the
noble art of fencing, including information about swords,
moves, competitions and future opportunities for Fencing
Sport Scholarships from the best colleges in the country.
Fencing equipment is provided. This course is specially
created for participants of all fencing and athletic levels.

Zumba Fitness
Zumba is a Latin dance-inspired fitness program. It
incorporates samba, mambo, meringue, hip-hop,
Bollywood, etc. Some upper body conditions are also
included. The main goal of Zumba is to have fun while
moving to easy-to-follow dance moves. It will burn
calories and assist with weight loss. Bring water to drink
and light hand weights are optional.

Pilates
Pilates is a body conditioning routine that helps improve
balance, coordination, flexibility and strength. It enhances
core strength by working your abdominals and back.
Exercises can be modified in range of difficulty from
beginning to advanced. Bring a comfortable mat for floor
work. Some classes will use resistance devices that will be
provided by the instructor and can be used if desired, but
not required. Bring water to drink.
Ages:
Based on traditional yoga principles
and modern fitness movements, this program is safe and
effective for all age groups and fitness levels. Arrive on
an empty stomach. Bring a yoga strap or bath towel and
a yoga mat. This is an ongoing class; no pre-registration

Volleyball information and team applications will be
available online at www.pickerington.net and at the
Parks and Recreation Department by September. Games
will be played Sunday afternoons, beginning in early
December. Schedules will be distributed after all teams
have been formed. Games will be held at Pickerington
High School Central Field House. The department also
maintains a free agent list for individuals who would like to
join a team. Player contact information will be distributed
to team managers; however, placement on a team is not

Cancellation of Activities
The Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel activities due to low
enrollment. Decisions to offer activities are based upon pre-registration numbers and made
48-72 hours in advance of the start date. Register early to help avoid a cancelled or closed out
activity. If class is cancelled or closed, you will receive a full refund in the form of a check; no
cash refunds. Refunds take about 3 weeks.

Refund Before the Activity Begins
Refunds will be made only before the start of the activity for one of the following circumstances
and a $10 processing fee will apply:
• When the refund is requested at least seven (7) days in advance (except where otherwise
noted) of the first activity meeting, provided it does not reduce the participation level
below the required minimum.
• When a Refund Request is completed and approved by the Parks and Recreation Department.
• No refund will be given for activities under $10.
• No refund will be given for materials purchased.
No refunds will be given after the start of the activity.
