JJEU Champions League
2013
ADRIATIC CUP JU-JITSU
Report for the JJEU Board
MARIBOR, Slovenia
13. 4. 2014
Introduction
On the initiative of Mr. Karl Kelc, supported by Slovenian Ju-jitsu Federation and JJE, Adriatic Cup
started in 2011.
This year the finals of the Adriatic
Cup Champions League took place
on the occasion of ECC Robi Rajh
Open in Maribor, Slovenia.
JJEU give this project a lot of
support as one of the more
interesting projects last decade for
ju-jitsu development. Adriatic Cup
continues in 2014 and beginning
of second division will start in
France in June 2014. This will give
us very good opportunity for
spectacular finals of JJEU Champions League 2014.
Federations are kindly invited to promote CHAMPIONS LEAGUE in their countries as it is a good
opportunity for promotion of ju-jitsu and promotion of clubs.
At the moment only fighting system is present in Champions League. For many reasons that was the
easiest way to start the process. But we wish for more. More clubs, and finally, we should introduce
duo system and ne-waza in the champion’s league.
And please, look beyond that – if we continue with this project on other continents with our
partners from other continental unions, we could have an excellent opportunity to do more for the
development of ju-jitsu around the globe.
Mr. Karl Kelc, Director of the Adriatic Cup, prepared a short briefing about activities in 2013.

The future
In year 2014 6 clubs will participate in the Adriatic Cup division of JJEU Champions League.
Schedule of the events:
1. Round: 10.5.2014 – Budva,
Montenegro
2. Round: 17.5.2014 – Aleksinac,
Serbia
3. Round: 14.6.2014 – Banja Luka,
Bosnia and Herzegovina
4. Round – FINALS: 15.11.2014 –
Novi Sad, Serbia
In June in France JJEU Champions League of division West will start (head of the division is Mr.
Christophe Brunet from FFJDA).
As we have established two divisions (south – Adriatic Cup and west – France) this will give us a
great opportunity that we can propose to JJEU Board to plan in the calendar the Finals of 2014
Champions League, with participation of best clubs from division South and West.
We encourage clubs to be active, take the initiative and propose to the JJEU Board and JJEU Sport
Director Christophe Brunet to establish new divisions (or to join newly established West). We have
doubts in start but now this system has proven as cost effective, with good media coverage and with
very good quality of performance.
Join us! You are Welcome!
Yours Faithfully
Karl Kelc
