is a range that can be used
for
interior,
residential

commercial applications and

product
performance of a Plascon
premium paint, but offers you
a solvent-free and zero VOC
green
solution,
giving
you

your paint selection.
Plascon Professional Evolution Water Based
Plaster Primer
A primer commonly applied in new interior cementbased surfaces. For interior application, new cement and
concrete walls, plaster, ceiling boards and bricks.
Plascon Professional Evolution
Super Matt White
A high opacity matt acrylic paint commonly applied
in interior walls and ceilings. For application to suitably
primed new cement plaster walls, fibre-board, ceiling
board and wood.
Plascon Professional Evolution
Premium Satin
A sheen paint that is fully washable and stain-resistant.
For application to suitably primed new cement plaster
walls, fibre-board, ceiling board and wood. It dries to a
durable coat that is stain-resistant and will withstand
repeated washing.

Premium Matt
A matt paint that is fully washable and stain-resistant.
For application to suitably primed new cement plaster
walls, fibre-board, ceiling board and wood. It dries to a
hard, plush matt that is stain-resistant and will withstand
repeated washing.

Water Based Enamel
A gloss paint for interior trims and walls. For application to
interior trims - doors, windows, skirting boards. This product
is suitable for wall applications that are of high wear areas.
This product is fully washable and stain-resistant.

LOW VOCs VS NO VOCs
Products with a high Volatile Organic Compound (VOC)
content may release these compounds in high dosages
over a period of time, making the potential exposure
high. For the conscious, the solution would appear to be
simply in the purchase and use of low VOC products.
While we classify environmentally-friendly paint as Zero
VOC and Solvent-Free, it also means that we do not use
APEOs, CITs, Formaldehyde, Glycols or lead.
AVERAGE WATER BASED PAINTS:
Contains between 25g/l and 100g/l VOCs
LOW VOC:
The paint contains less than 25g/l of VOCs
ZERO VOC:
The paint contains less than 5g/l VOCs

What does this mean?
In the production of paints,
we use a variety of chemicals,
which allow us to obtain the
desired properties we want;
for example resins, pigments,
a variety of additives, solvents
and water.
VOCs
A VOC is commonly defined as a compound that
has a boiling point <250 degrees Celsius and is of an
organic nature. Volatile means that the compound
evaporates easily. Organic means that the compound
evaporates easily. Organic means that the compound is
always made of molecules that contain carbon-based
bonds. Hence water is not a VOC and not all solvents
are VOCs.
Volatile Organic Compounds are described by the Green
Building Council in the following way: “VOCs are normally
given off in the form of gases by new products and
materials (e.g: paint, adhesives).”
APEOs
Alkylphenol Ethoxylates (APEOs) are nonylphenol
compounds. APEOs are non-iconic surfactants with an
emulsifying and dispersing action, which makes them
suitable for a very large variety of applications. APEOs are
normally used in aiding dispersion of colourants in paint.
FORMALDEHYDE
Formaldeyhde is a very strong-smelling chemical in
paint. It is used as a preservative. Formaldehyde may be
associated with asthma and respiratory agitation.
CITs
Chloroisothiazolinone (CIT) is a chemical compound
used as a preservative in a diversified range of products,
including household cleaners, cosmetics and paint.

Professional Water Based Gypsum & Masonry Sealer
Suitable on both gypsum and masonry
surfaces with the additional benefit of
reduced odour which is GBCSA VOC
compliant for interior use.
Plascon Cashmere and Double Velvet
These products have a maximum TVOC
of 16g/l when tinted and meet the
criteria of the Green Building Council
of South Africa. Plascon Double Velvet
and Cashmere have a Breatheasy™
formulation which releases fewer
harmful chemicals into the air.
Plason RemovAll
Offers a range of different products
that remove coatings, clean surfaces,
restore wood and prepare surfaces to
be recoated. Plascon’s RemovALL has
specific coatings removal technology
called Hydro2, which uses oxygen to lift
the paint off the substrate, so it is tough
on paint, but easy on the environment.
