 Dear Parents,
At Everest VBS, kids will embark on the coolest adventure of the summer! Everest VBS is filled with incredible Bible
learning experiences for kids to see, hear, touch, and even taste! Sciency-Fun Gizmos, team-building games, cool Bible songs,
and tasty treats are just a few of the standout activities that help faith flow into real life. (Everything is hands-on so kids might get
a little messy. Please send them in play clothes and safe shoes!) Plus, we’ll help kids discover how to see evidence of God in
everyday life—something we call “God Sightings.” Get ready to hear that phrase a lot!
The following include details about this year’s VBS:
General VBS Information:
Date:
- Monday June 29 – Wednesday July 1st, 2015
Time
- Monday – Tuesday, 10:00AM to 2:00pm; Wednesday, 10:00 am to 12:30 pm
- There will be a family concert featuring Jana Alayra at 1 pm on Wednesday, July 1
Check In
- Check in begins at 9:30 am each day
Lunch
- Lunch is provided for all three days of VBS.
Cost
- $60 per child (with $10 sibling discount), which includes a T-shirt, lunch, snacks, and a ticket for the
Jana Alayra concert.
Location
- Church of Southland and The Phoenix Club (for the Jana Alayra concert)
Groups
- Children will be assigned to a group according to his/her grade. Guests invited by Church of Southland
children will be placed in the same group as their friend, if they are in the same grade
Priority Registration:
We are so excited and thankful to God that more and more children are coming to Southland's VBS every summer! As a result,
in order to maintain the quality of VBS and to ensure the safety and security for the children and adults, registration will be for
up to 300 kids. There will also be a registration deadline.
Church of Southland will give priority registration to the following:
1. Children who are members of Church of Southland,
2. Children whose families don’t regularly attend church,
3. Children whose families are seeking a new home church,
4. and children whose home churches do not have VBS.
Any children who register (that are members of a different local church [that already have their own VBS]) will be waitlisted.
We will follow up with waitlist registrants during the week of June 14 - 21.
Registration:
Registration for VBS is open to children who are entering Kindergarten next year to children who have are graduating from
Grade 5 this school year (2014-2015).
To register, visit www.churchofsouthland.com/treehouse and click on the online registration link. Please pay with check or cash
on Sundays at church after 1st or 2nd service. Please pay at the registration table in front of the Education building, where there
will also be registration forms available.
Registration closes June 14, 2015 @ 11:59 pm!

For this year’s Everest VBS, we will wrap up with a Jana Alayra Concert! We highly encourage parents to attend the concert
with the kids to celebrate God’s amazing love.
There is free concert admission for:
• Children registered in VBS (Ticket fee included in the VBS registration).
• Parents and siblings of children registered in VBS.
• Children 2 years and under.
For children (non-VBS participants) and parents whose children are not registered for VBS, tickets will sell for $5 per person.
Tickets are available at the Treehouse JR and SR Room after service on Sundays!
Biography of Jana Alayra:
Jana Alayra is an artist with whom many can identify. She is a wife, mother, and friend, busy with the daily routine of tending to the lives of
her three daughters and producer husband, Ron. Together, Ron and Jana also answer the call to a unique ministry of leading worship, both
to adults and children. Whether leading a small group with her guitar, or singing for a thousand children and their families, Jana's enthusiasm
and love for Christ are evident, sincere and inspiring. When people leave one of Jana's concerts or testimonials, they often say that not only
were they entertained and encouraged, but they felt they made a new friend. Jana shares openly about the pain and sorrows in her life, as
well as Christ's victory through it all. Her humor and hope are truly encouraging. Hers is a unique ministry of sorrow, celebration, and faith.
To know her story and to watch her lead people in praise is a true testimony of God's power and faithfulness.
