April 2012 - Simi Valley Education Foundation
Give our children
the means
to excel.
You can make a direct
impact on the future
of children throughout
our school district by
partnering with the
Simi Valley Education
Foundation. We have
supported our schools
since 1989 through grants
and scholarships. We
depend on the generosity
of our friends to continue
our work to improve
student achievement.
We believe that an
excellent public
education requires a wellinformed and supportive
community, caring and
competent educators, a
supportive and responsive
school environment, and
sufficient financing to
achieve educational goals.
We are committed to
providing all students
with the opportunity to be
successful by providing
resources to educators
for creative and innovative
teaching and scholarships
to students.
It is our belief that we
must have a superior
educational system to
ensure that our students
remain competitive in
an increasingly global
marketplace. Involving
the private sector in
our efforts to improve
education is vital
to our success.

Celebration of Education Brings in Much Needed Funds
We recently hosted the Mardi Gras Mystique -- Celebration of Education annual fundraiser
on March 10, 2012 at Lost Canyons Golf Club. With a magic of Mardi Gras theme planned
by Chairs Lulu Means and Michelle Scharf, more than 230 guests enjoyed an evening that
included photo booth fun, dancing, signature themed drinks and silent and live auctions.
Community support is vital to our success. Thank you to the entire community and
the hundreds of donors who support the Simi Valley Education Foundation and help
maintain excellence in the public schools of Simi Valley. It is with sincere gratitude and special thanks
to our Mardi Gras Mystique Sponsors...we couldn’t do it without you! (See photos on following pages!)
