This is Sanctity of Life Sunday
On January 22, 1973 the decisions of Rove v
Wade and Doe v. Bolton legalized abortion in our
country. This weekend has been set aside to
recognize the sanctity of life and to remember
the 52 million children who have lost their lives
through abortion. After Mass, there will be
someone outside from the Ojai Life Choices Clinic
offering pro-life literature, information on the
many free services that they provide, and the
opportunity to support their good works. Please
stop after Mass and find out what part you can
play in giving the gift of life to the unborn.
Family-to-Family
On Wednesday members of our parishioners will feed
the homeless and low income people in Ventura. Family
-to-Family is a once-a-month commitment for our parish to feed over 200 people. With the rising price of
groceries, your financial assistance is always appreciated. Our thanks to those who work in this outreach
ministry.

Our parish is celebrating the feast
day of our patron St. Thomas Aquinas
on Sunday after the 7:30 a.m. & 10:30
a.m. masses. A special thanks to Ed Kurtenbach and
the “Chefs of the Parish” who are cooking
breakfast this Sunday morning for all of us.
It is time for our new parish

After all the Masses appointment will be scheduled.
Every participating family/household that selects a
pose for the directory will received a free 8x10
Portrait.
More information will be given at a later time.
St. Thomas Aquinas Dinner
St Thomas Aquinas Feast Day dinner will be held on
Sunday January 30. Cost is $25 per person with
proceeds going to the Family to Family program. Come
celebrate with great food, entertainment and
community spirit. Tickets available at the office and
after the masses.

Next Sunday morning January 30th the
coffee and donut sales will benefit our
parish Cub Scout Pack #3504. Our
thanks to the “scouts” and their parents
who have volunteered to serve.

Next Step
The Parish Survey results are now
online. Hard copies are available upon request at the
office or are posted on our bulletin boards. Priorities
of our parish include Adult and CCD education, communications within the parish, the quality of liturgies
celebrated, and the need for more social interaction
within our parish through a men’s group, summer cookouts, community builders in general that bring the entire parish together. As I have said before, this is
only one tool for parish planning. Other options will
always be looked at and tried. This was a good start
and from here the survey material will go a focus
group of eight parishioners who will help me plan the
next five years. We will prioritize and publish each
step of the planning.
This survey is only one option to get to know a
parish. Coming up to me after Mass, speaking to me at
the office, inviting me to a meal at your home are also
ways of giving me your options, suggestions, or criticisms. I have got a thick hide, but my listening skills
are pretty good and I do challenge. My reading skills
will improve, once I get my cataracts taken care, in
case you want to send an email. This is a beautiful parish community that has a lot to offer Ojai and much
beyond it. God has blessed us with many gifts and talents to offer others. Let’s help each other bring
these gifts to the light.

Los resultados de las encuestas ya
están en el internet. Pero si usted
quiere copias, puede pedirlas en la
oficina parroquial o leer las que están colocadas en las
pizarras. Las prioridades de nuestra parroquia incluyen: Adultos y Educación Religiosa; Comunicaciones al
interior de la parroquia’ calidad de las liturgias que
celebramos; y la necesidad de mas relaciones sociales
dentro de la parroquia a través de grupos de hombres;
comidas durante el verano; construir comunidad en
general para la unidad parroquial. Como he dicho en
ocasiones anteriores, estas encuestas son solamente
una herramienta para planificación parroquial. Otras
opciones estarán siempre a la vista y evaluando a su
tiempo.
Este ha sido un buen comienzo y desde aquí el
material de estas encuestas será revisado por un grupo de ocho personas, quienes me ayudaran a planificar
los próximos cinco años podremos las prioridades y las
publicaremos paso por paso de acuerdo a la planificación.

Familia- a- Familia
El miércoles un grupo de nuestros feligreses
alimentan a la gente sin hogar y de bajos ingresos
en Ventura. Familia -a -Familia en nuestra parroquia ayuda a servir el cuarto Miércoles de cada
mes. Se alimentan más de 200 personas. Con el
aumento del precio de alimentos, su ayuda financiera es siempre apreciada. Nuestro agradecimiento a las personas dedicadas que trabajan en
este ministerio. Te gustaría formar parte de este

Es hora de que nuestro nuevo
directorio fotográfico parroquial.
Los Sábados y Miércoles después de Misa estarán
afuera atendiendo a las personas que quieran hacer su
cita para las fotos. Cada familia participante/hogar
que seleccione una pose para el directorio recibirá un
retrato de 8x10 gratis. También pueden pasar a la
oficina y hacer su cita.
