Look Inside My Personal Disney “Go Bag”!
18 Essential Items I Never Go to the Parks Without
Plus my suggestion for the best bag for the job! -Kat
Pain Reliever Nobody plans on being in pain at the most
Magical Place on Earth, but unfortunately, it happens. Do
yourself a favor and slip a few tablets of your pain reliever of
choice in your bag. You’ll be glad you did.
Hand Sanitizer I love the Walt Disney World Resort as if it
were my own home, but it’s a petri dish of germs! Be sure to
use hand sanitizer often, especially before you eat anything.
Band Aids No matter how well you may think you have
“broken-in” those new shoes, a blister will form somewhere.
Never forget the band-aids. Scrapes and cuts can happen
anywhere, too and you may be far from the First Aid center.
Ziploc Bags Even if you have a waterproof cellphone case,
you may have some other items you don’t want to get wet if
it rains or you ride on a water attraction. Put your electronics
and other vulnerable valuables in water resistant bags for
extra protection.
Sunscreen The Florida sun is strong, hot and you are going
to be exposed to it for long stretches of time. Be sure to
start your day with sunscreen on and bring extra to touch
up. Don’t forget your ears! (Your actual ears)
Lip Balm With an SPF or without, dry lips are not fun. I
prefer Burts Bees.
Personal Misting Fan Especially in the summer months you
do not want to be without this, particularly if you have small
children. Waiting on long, hot lines becomes a lot more
bearable with a misting fan. O2 Cool has small, inexpensive
models that attach to bags and belt loops by a carabiner.
Hair Accessories I know you want to look good in photos,
so you may go ahead and do your hair in the morning, but
by the afternoon, all the work will be for nothing. Trust me, I
know this from experience. Bring something to put your hair
up and keep cool.
Nail File If you’ve ever broken a nail and had it catch on
everything all day because you didn’t have a nail file, you’ll
understand why this goes in my bag.
Rain Poncho No brainer. Rain storms=less people. Throw on
the poncho and enjoy the low crowds and short lines. Also
helpful to stay dry on Splash Mountain and Kali River Rapids
when you really don’t feel like being soaked.
Disney Visa/Annual Pass/ID Magic Bands are awesome,
but if you are looking to get a Disney Visa or Annual Passholder merchandise discount, you’ll need to show proof.
And if you plan to partake in adult beverages, you’ll need
your ID to get served.
Snacks I love nothing more than snacking on Mickey
Pretzels, Churros, Dole Whips and Mickey Ice Cream Pops,
but it gets kind of expensive. I pack some light snacks to
take the edge off between meals. Granola bars, almonds,
pretzels, etc.
Gum By now you probably know you cannot purchase gum
on Disney property, but you can chew it. Bring some with
you from home and keep it in your bag. Sometimes a little
gum is all you need to put the pep back in your step.
Sunglasses Even if it’s overcast, bring your sunglasses.
Florida weather changes rapidly and believe me, you don’t
want to purchase pricey sunglasses on property.
Autograph Book & Retractable Sharpie® My daughter is
still an autograph collector, but even if she wasn’t I think I
would still carry these items. Sometimes you catch a rare
character and you just want a memento. The retractable
Sharpie® pens work best. Easy for characters to grip and no
cap to lose!
Quarters & Pennies Pressed coins is a tradition in our
family, so we are always prepared with a few shiny pennies
and some quarters. But also, the Frontierland Shootin’
Arcade works on quarters. I don’t think I’ve ever been to the
Magic Kingdom without testing my skills there.
Tissues Bring them. A small travel pack weighs next to
nothing and you will use them for something, I guarantee it.
Cellphone For the love of Pete don’t forget your cellphone.
Most people use it for everything, least of all to talk on it!
Photos, texts, My Disney Experience, wait time apps and
killing time on attraction lines...in this day and age at WDW,
it’s a necessary evil. Gone are the days you could “unplug”.
So what bag do I use to put all
of these essential items in?
A Baggalini Cross Body! It fits
everything comfortably and has
many zippered compartments so
I can smartly organize the items
& find what I am looking for
quickly. It’s lightweight and
made of water-resistant nylon. I
love mine and have been using
it for 3 years and counting!
