JUBILEE YEAR OF MERCY: Pope Francis announced in an
Official Misericordiae Vultus Papal Bull of indiction of the
Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy beginning Tuesday
December 8, 2015 on the Solemnity of the Immaculate
Conception and closing on and with the celebration of the
Solemnity of Christ the King Sunday November 20,
2016. Pope Francis describes the Holy Year of Mercy as a
favorable time to heal wounds, a time to offer everyone
the way of Forgiveness and reconciliation. Pope Francis
recommends that it be characterized by Corporal Works of
Mercy in which we are to feed the hungry, to give drink to
the thirsty, to clothe the naked, to shelter the homeless, to
care for the sick, to visit the imprisoned and to bury the
dead. Spiritual Works of Mercy challenge us to convert
sinners, instruct the Ignorant, to advise the doubtful,
comfort the sorrowful, bear wrongs patiently, forgive
injuries and to pray for the living and the dead. This is a
time
to
heal,
to
help
and
to
forgive.

ADVENT OFFERING: Special Advent coin folders this
year’s Advent offering, Christmas flower envelopes and
cans are available in the back of the church. Thank you
very much for your generosity.
FEAST OF THE HOLY FAMILY. On Sunday December 27,
2015 we shall celebrate the Feast of the Holy Family of
Jesus, Mary and Joseph. A special blessing will be given to
all the families in our parish. On that day there will be a
Mass in English at 9.30a.m and 11.00 am Mass in
Spanish. Come and receive blessings as a family.
NEW YEAR’S EVE. On Thursday December 31, 2015, we
shall celebrate a Bilingual Mass at 7.30p.m. Come let us
thank God for the protection He gave in the 2015 year.

OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE GROUP. We sincerely wish
to express our deep appreciation for the marvelous
celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe feast which was well
organized by the members of Our Lady of Guadalupe last
Saturday here at our church. May Our Lady of Guadalupe
continue interceding for all of us. Amen

2015 CHRISTMAS RAFFLE. We wish to thank the Parish
Finance Committee members who successfully organized
our 2015 Christmas raffle which drew on December 13,
2015. We further thank parish council members,
devotional group leaders, parishioners, volunteers and all
those who supported this event in various ways to make it
a success. Thanks for the time and sacrifices you make for
the good of our parish. May God keep blessing you.

SUNDAY REFLECTION:
On this last Sunday before Christmas, the Church's
Liturgy reveals the true identity of our Redeemer: He is,
as today's First Reading says, the "ruler...whose origin is
from...ancient times." He will come from Bethlehem,
where David was born of Jesse the Ephrathite and
anointed king.
God promised that an heir of David would reign on his
throne forever. Jesus is that heir, the One the prophets
promised would restore the scattered tribes of Israel into
a new kingdom. He is "the shepherd of Israel," sung of in
today's Psalm. From His throne in heaven, He has "come
to save us."
NEW PARISH TRUSTEE BOARD MEMBERS. This is to
introduce Mr. Alberto Bravo and Ms Niurca Tiburcio who
have been confirmed and approved by His Eminence,
Timothy Cardinal Dolan Archbishop of New York and
Monsignor Gregregary Musticiuolo, as New Parish Trustee
Board Members for St. Angela Merici Church. Alberto and
Niurca are succeeding Mr. Richard H. Daly and Ms Denise
Cabrera who served with dedication. While congratulating
Mr. Alberto and Ms Niurca who willingly accepted in that
capacity we sincerely thank Ms Denise and Mr. Richard.
EDUCATION COMMITTEE OF THE OFFICE OF BLACK
MINISTRY. Education Committee of the Office of Black
Ministry wish to invite high school seniors in any Catholic,

Toussanint Scholarship Program-a program of support and

Today's Epistle tells us that He is both the Son of David
and the only "begotten" Son of God, come "in the flesh" .
He is also our "high priest," from the mold of the
mysterious Melchisedek, "priest of God Most High," who
blessed Abraham at the dawn of salvation history.
All this is recognized by John when he leaps for joy in his
mother's womb. Elizabeth, too, is filled with joy and the
Holy Spirit. She recognizes that in Mary "the mother of
my Lord" has come to her. We hear in her words another
echo of the Psalm quoted in today's Epistle Elizabeth
blesses Mary for her faith that God's Word would be
fulfilled in her.
Mary marks the fulfillment not only of the angel's
promise to her, but of all God's promises down through
history. Mary is the one they await in today's First
Reading - "she who is to give birth." She will give birth
this week, at Christmas. And the fruit of her womb
should bring us joy - she is the mother of our Lord.

noviembre 20, 2016. El año de la Misericordia acompaña
indulgencias, celebración del Sacramento de la
reconciliación y la peregrinación a basílicas principales. Por

HORARIO DE MISAS DE NAVIDAD. El jueves, 24 de
diciembre de 2015 en 7:30 tendremos nuestra celebración
bilingüe de vigilia de Navidad Misa. El viernes diciembre
de 2015 el día de Navidad, la Santa Misa será celebrada a
las 9:30 en inglés y en 11:00 en español. Misa de Navidad
en el hogar de ancianos Grand Concourse se celebrará a las
9:00 AM.
FIESTA DE LA SAGRADA FAMILIA. Domingo, 27 de
diciembre de 2015 vamos a celebrar la fiesta de la
Sagrada Familia de Jesús, María y José. Se dará una
bendición especial a todas las familias de nuestra
parroquia. Ese día habrá una Misa en inglés en
9.30a.m y 11.00 am Misa en español. Venga y reciba
las bendiciones como una familia.
MISA DE LA VIGILIA DEL AÑO NUEVO. El jueves, 31 de
diciembre de 2015, tenemos Misa bilingüe en 7:30 pm
vamos a dar gracias a Dios por la protección que nos dio e
el año 2015.
MISA DEL AÑO NUEVO 2016. El Viernes 1 de Enero
2016 tenemos misa bilingüe. Hora: 9:30 am. No
vamos a tener misa de 1:00 pm. La Rectoría esta
cerrado.

Este último domingo antes de Navidad, la liturgia de la
iglesia revela la verdadera identidad de nuestro Redentor:
es, como dice la primera lectura de hoy, la "regla... cuyo
origen es de... los tiempos antiguos." Él vendrá de Belén,
donde nació de Jesse el efrateo David y ungido rey.

Dios prometió que un heredero de David reinaría en su
trono para siempre. Jesús es ese heredero, los profetas
prometieron que restauraría las tribus dispersas de Israel
en un nuevo reino. Él es "el pastor de Israel," cantado del
Salmo de hoy. Desde su trono en el cielo, ha «llegado a
salvarnos».
La Epístola de hoy nos dice que él es el hijo de David y el
"unigénito" hijo de Dios, venir "en la carne". También es
nuestro "sumo sacerdote", según el rito de Melchisedek,
"sacerdote del Dios Altísimo," que bendijo a Abraham en
los albores de la historia de la salvación.
Todo esto es reconocido por Juan cuando él salta de
alegría en el vientre de su madre. Elizabeth, también está
lleno de gozo y del Espíritu Santo. Ella reconoce que en
María "la madre de mi Señor" ha llegado a ella. En sus
palabras escuchamos otro Eco del Salmo citado en la
epístola de Isabel hoy bendice a María por su fe que la
palabra de Dios se cumpliría en Ella.
María marca el cumplimiento no sólo de la promesa del
ángel a ella, sino de las promesas de Dios a través de la
historia. María es la que esperan en la primera lectura de
