Continuing Education Requirements for CSR License Renewal
Holly Moose, Antonia Pulone
Setting a minimum number of approved continuing education credits to a CSR’s
license renewal is an idea that has been discussed for some time now. However,
the idea has gotten closer to becoming a reality with the introduction of SB 671.
If passed, the bill would “require the board to establish, on or before July 1, 2012,
minimum approved continuing education requirements for renewal of a shorthand
reporter’s certificate, with certain exceptions, and would require the board to establish a procedure for approving providers of continuing education courses, as
specified.”
