Barb Parsons (Vice President) for all she has done with the attendance and coordinating letters, cards, and gift baskets. Carol Jenkins (Secretary) for doing her
usual excellent job with the minutes. Janet Mohring (financial wizard) for keeping
us solvent. Thanks also to Pete Lileck, for keeping us informed and in compliance
with NCCC. Of course, I cannot forget the Board of Directors, led by John Kostick
Jr., for making decisions that kept us on the straight and narrow. Our newsletter
editors, Kevin & Michelle Minnich, had their hands full with some last minute
President’s letters. (We still have the best Corvette newsletter, bar none.) The
two Richards, DeLeon, and Ringhoffer, did a great job being our Ambassadors to
the NCM. Membership, what can I say about Marty and Laura Hegyi — our membership has climbed to almost 180 members, with 70+ now attending meetings.
Michelle Minnich, our fashion expert, keeps us well dressed and looking smart.
Bud Benton (Webmaster), our computer Wiz, keeps the world informed about us
via the clubs' website.
I am sure our new incoming officers will continue to keep AACC moving forward.

Plant Tour: Corvette America
Fri., Sep. 27 — We have been contacted by
Corvette America, manufacturer of
Corvette parts and accessories, to an open
house at their Reedsville, PA (5165 Old US
HWY 322, Milroy, PA 17063) manufacturing facility on Friday, Sept. 27. After the
plant tour, the Corvette America showroom is just up the street. There you can purchase a variety of parts, accessories and clothing for C1 through C6 Corvettes. (They may even have a few
C7 items already.) The plant is about a 2½-hour drive from Allentown, so
the 11 am tour would be the most feasible for us.
Each tour will last 45-60 minutes, with a maximum of 40 guests per tour. As
Corvette America's manufacturing facility is a working plant, all guests must
wear closed-toe, low-heeled shoes. Safety eyewear will be provided. Tour
group participants must be able to walk and stand for up to one hour.
Details for a meeting point and departure time will be announced at the
club meetings on Sept. 11 and 25.

EPDSC Buddy Walk & ‘Vette Display
Sat., Sep. 28 — AACC members are invited to display their Corvettes at the Valley Preferred
Cycling Center (“Velodrome”, Breinigsville, PA) as part of the annual Eastern PA Down
Syndrome Center “Buddy Walk.” Your $15 registration fee includes one (1) T-shirt and two
(2) meal passes (Domino’s pizza—cheese or pepperoni) per car. Display cars must be on-site
by 1pm; the event runs from 2-6, with the walk at 3pm. (Someone will watch the display
cars.) Learn more about this charity and the event on their website, www.epdsc.net.
Watch for a sign-up sheet circulating at club meetings during September.
Ride the Rails with EACC
Sun., Sept. 29 — AACC members are invited to join fellow Corvette
enthusiasts from Easton’s club for a scenic train ride aboard WK&S’s Hawk
Mountain Line. Rides begin at 1, 2, 3, and 4pm. Price for a ride ticket is $10
per person, but $1-off coupons are available. You can ride all day with just
1 ticket. The railroad will designate a (free) special parking area for the
Corvettes where “Quick Shade” tents can be erected. There are several
dining options on-site: a refreshment stand serving burgers & hot dogs, A General Country Store (at the far end of the
train ride), Kempton Hotel (easy 1-1/2 block walk from the station), or the traditional BYO. There are ample picnic
tables available. The ride begins at 42 Community Center Drive, Kempton, PA. Ernie Perna will advise of a meeting
location and time for AACC participants.
Shady Maple Smorgasbord (Lunch)
Sat., Oct. 26 — Our tradition continues for driving and food with another visit to
the Shady Maple Smorgasbord. The group will depart the north-side parking lot at
Cracker Barrel (Fogelsville, PA) at 10:30am. East Earl, PA is our destination — about
an hour’s drive from the Lehigh Valley.
Arrive hungry because their smorgasbord features 46 salad bar items, 3 soups, 8 homemade breads, 4 cheeses, 8
meats, 14 vegetables, 10 cold desserts, 3 hot desserts, 8 pies, 6 cakes, an ice cream sundae bar and many beverages.
Price for adults is $19.49 and seniors aged 60-89 $17.55. Visit www.shady-maple.com/smorgasbord/daily-menu-pricing
for more information on the menu, a listing of gluten free items, and additional pricing policies (including a gastric bypass surgery discount).
After lunch, everyone can do their own thing. Attractions include Shady Maple Farmer’s Market, Reading Outlets,
opening weekend of Oktoberfest at Stoudt’s Brewery (Adamstown, PA), and Renninger’s Antiques (Kutztown, PA).
Corvettes are always welcome, but this will be a rain-or-shine event.
Sign up at a club meeting or by contacting Laura Hegyi at 610-730-2697 or [email protected].

Lehigh Valley Wine Art Music Festival
Kevin Minnich (‘00)
Sat., Aug 3 — The inaugural event hosted by Upstate Wine Festivals was held
at the Schnecksville Fairgrounds. 12 AACC Corvettes were on display, with custom show boards detailing the performance of each. The Mauch Chuck Motorheads also displayed their vehicles in various
states of restoration. Attendance was light so
it was easy to maneuver the grounds and sample the wines and mead from eight PA wineries, cheeses from local organic farms, and
stroll through the crafters showing their handiwork. A jazz trio played on the main
stage throughout the day. Participating display cars were offered a choice bottle of
wine by host, Antler Ridge Winery. We anticipate an even bigger event in 2014.

Stoudt’s Corvette Show
Len Feinberg (‘13)
Sun., Aug 4 — A small group left the Easton Park & Ride and headed to Stoudt’s Corvette Show in Reading, where they
were met by the AACC Breakfast Club led by John Kostick. There was a record turnout of over 140 Corvettes covering
all generations packed into the small lot and adjacent field. Small dash cards and a commemorative dash plaque were
presented upon entry. There was no official judging or voting and Stoudt’s randomly drew car numbers for cash prizes,
ranging from $25 to $100. A pretty nice deal for a free show...

EACC’s Vettes For Pets
Len Feinberg (‘13)
Sun., Aug. 11 — Well it was a beautiful day in the neighborhood for EACC’s Vettes for Pets 16 held at Meuser Park in
Wilson Borough. It was a great show with a record turnout of 251 vehicles including motorcycles, pickups, a few Corvettes, a Bradley GT, and a very interesting $90,000 COPO Camaro. The park setting had everyone parked on the grass
with plenty of shaded areas. There was a Chinese auction, door prizes, 50/50, a car display by Chevy 21, and plenty to
eat. The Center for Animal Health and Welfare also had some of their 4-legged residents who were available for adoption. The Center brought some items for sale and was collecting food donations. One man even brought in a dolly with
four large bags of dog and cat food, which totaled over 100 pounds. There were awards presented for the top 25 participant choices. In addition there were three special awards: Best Paint, Best Engine and the President’s Award.
Marty Hegyi (‘69 Vette) was among the Top 25 winners. Dave Parsons won the handmade quilt made with past Vettes
for Pets T-shirts.

Bob Gredlics: a Celebration of Life
Kevin Minnich (‘00)
Sat., Aug. 17 — On June 14th, AACC founding member, Bob Gredlics passed away from Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD),
a rare, fast-moving and untreatable brain disease. His daughters, Melissa McCaverty and Michelle Kovacs,
arranged for a Celebration of Life ceremony at a fitting venue, the Macungie Memorial Park, in the afternoon preceding
a monthly cruise night. Over 30 Corvettes met a short distance north of the park with the intention of arriving in force
to honor Bob. Logistics soon became an issue at the meeting place, and we made a last-minute call to the Macungie
Police department for traffic control. They happily obliged and sent an officer within minutes, who first stopped traffic
on the busy PA-100 so we could all pull out, then raced ahead of the pack to stop traffic once again so we could enter
the Park. Bob’s beloved ‘59 and ‘63 were already parked by the pavilion when our Corvettes arrived.
O’Connell Funeral Home (Bethlehem, PA) coordinated the event which included a presentation by a Life Celebrant and
offered the opportunity for attendees to say a few words as well. The most poignient words came from Bob’s daughters and closest friends, including fellow-AACC clubber, Bob Wetherhold. It was a very nice service and even featured
photo boards, food and drinks for all to enjoy.

AACC Family Picnic
Len Feinberg (‘13)
Sun., Aug. 18 — The weather was nice (for the most part) for the large group of 80 AACC members, spouses, grandchildren, and a few special guests. The shaded pavilion atop the hill at Bicentennial Park (East Allen Twsp.) was the location for this meeting of food, games, and fellowship. There was plenty to eat and drink from appetizers that included
deviled eggs, shrimp, various chips, veggies and pretzels (with dips), at least three different salads, and much more.
The main course was catered by Dickey’s BBQ and featured pulled pork, beef brisket, shredded chicken, baked potato
casserole, BBQ beans, green beans, and honey rolls. Since the day was also Janet Mohring’s birthday, Jeff surprised her
with a special cake complete with candles and group singing. And there was still a little more to eat — cupcakes,
brownies, cookies, and fruit salads. If you went home hungry, it was your own fault! Members played various yard and
table games when not eating. Thanks to the Mohrings, Minnichs, and Hegyis for coordinating the day.

Carlisle 2013
Kevin Minnich (‘00)
Fri.-Sun., Aug. 23-25 — The Corvette community once again headed to Mecca (a.k.a. Carlisle County Fairgrounds) for
the 30th Annual Corvettes at Carlisle. While many club members were spotted walking the grounds during the 3 days
of the event, quite a few of us could not make it. Neither words nor photos do the event justice, but here are a few
teasers to hold you over until next year...

Jamison Publick House Luncheon
Sat., Aug. 30 — It’s not an AACC event unless there is food involved. Sometimes, the event is
ONLY about food. That was the case this day when 41 converged on the Jamison Publick House
in Pennsburg, PA. The historic restaurant is owned and operated by the sister of club member
Linda Roberts. Most everyone brought their Corvettes to enjoy the $16.50 meal (drink, tax and
tip included). Popular entrees included their fish & chips, pastrami sandwich, and chicken Caesar salad. After lunch, Marty Hegyi held a sign directing folks to “Hegyi’s Veggies” where Laura
distributed the bounty of her home garden to anyone wanting some freshly picked goodies.
Incoming President’s Address
Hello Corvette Enthusiasts,
Being Club President is something completely new to me. I’ve been a member of AACC for 10 years. During my ten
years of membership Kevin Minnich, Susan Hornung, John Kostick, and Frank Shuletsky served as our club leaders. In
my opinion each of these did a wonderful job as President. If it weren’t for their leadership, our club would not be in
the position we are today. I would like to say “Thank You” to these folks for their years of service and leadership. Without them, I would not be where I am today being the newly elected President of AACC. I would like to also thank the
membership for having the confidence in nominating me and electing me to this office.
It is my wish to have the same successes these folks have endured and I’m positive that with your help, patience and
guidance our club will continue to prosper and grow.
Regards,
Jeff Mohring

Caravan is Coming
Aug 22 | Starting from various cities throughout America, thousands of Corvette enthusiasts will converge on the
home of Corvette for three days of exciting Corvette lifestyle including the grand opening of the National Corvette Mu-
seum Motorsports Park.
Details for the 20th Anniversary Corvette Celebration are still in the planning stage, but over 2,000 have already registered for the event. The Caravan is being coordinated by Paul Mariano, National Chair of the 2014 NCM Caravan, in
collaboration with Karen Renfrow, NCM Events Manager. Information and details on caravan routes can be obtained by
visiting the 2014 Caravan website here.
Caravan registration is $5 per person. Anniversary Celebration registration is free for Museum Lifetime Members, $15
per person for members and $25 per person for non-members. "It is a spectacle not to be missed by any Corvette owner or someone wishing to be one," said Mariano.
Two Hall of Fame Corvettes Unveiled
Aug 29 | Each Labor Day weekend the National Corvette Museum hosts an
induction ceremony for the Corvette Hall of Fame - and for the 3rd year in a
row Chevrolet has created special Corvettes to commemorate the induction of
their shining stars.
This year Chevrolet created two special Corvettes - one celebrating former
Corvette Racing Driver Johnny O'Connell, and one celebrating former GM
Corvette Assembly Plant Manager Wil Cooksey.
Johnny's 2014 Commemorative Corvette is a Cyber Gray Stingray with new Jake emblem on the hood, "STINGRAY"
across the windshield, yellow calipers, and special Team Corvette and Hall of Fame graphics on the doors.
Wil's 2014 Corvette gives a nod to the 2008 Wil Cooksey Limited Edition Corvette bearing a Crystal Red exterior. Chevrolet Corvette Product Marketing Manager said there are some aspects of the car that they can't yet disclose.
