The best investment for a first-time user of
CNC grinding technology. Recommended for
regrinding. The machine enables quick and
reliable grinding of all current tooth shapes.
The Woodtronic C4 can be equipped with
an optional automatic D-axis so you can
automatically grind axial (shear face) angles in
one pass.
The Woodtronic C5 is recommended for
regrinders and manufacturers that produce
small runs or one-off jobs. The machine grinds
both the face and top of the tooth in a single
setup due to the automatic B axis. This saves
valuable time by minimizing set-up time.
The Woodtronic C5 can also be equipped to
automatically grind axial (shear face) angles.
The measuring probe positions the saw blade
accurately and automatically and measures all
the relevant parameters, such as kerf, grinding
length, saw body thickness, rake, and top
clearance angle. The probe also compensates
for wheel wear during a production run using

accordingly. This is more accurate than
calculating based on wheel measurements.
WALTER’s probe is also more accurate than
typical acoustic sensors.
Both the Woodtronic C4 and the Woodtronic C5
feature a solid cast iron base for high stability
and top grinding quality. As an option, the
hollow-tooth unit can be permanently installed
in both machine types. This greatly reduces setup time, especially for grinding small quantities
of saws.
Option: Switch between standard flatface blades and hollow-tooth blades without
changing setups
WALTER’s permanently installed hollow-tooth
grinding unit (optional) lets you top and face
hollow-tooth blades in one setup. The spindle
rotates up to 60,000 RPM for excellent quality
and finish. Recommended.

Characteristics
With 6 CNC axes, the WMC 100 CNC control,
and WALTER grinding software, the CNC
5D manufactures and sharpens circular saw
blades with any tooth geometry and tooth
combination. Plus the CNC 5D can regrind any
blade it can manufacture. It’s also the most
efficient machine on the market. And it’s the
first machine in the world that can grind top,
face, hollow-tooth, chip breaker and side (for
repair) in one set-up.
Option: Side grinding while
topping and facing
Until now, a broken tooth had to be replaced
and then ground on at least two different
machines - one for the side profiles and another
for the face and top. The Woodtronic CNC 5D
makes that history. Now you can grind new
teeth completely in one set-up. The machine
automatically recognizes the newly brazed
tooth and activates the regrinding option for the
sides. Another world-first from WALTER!

Grinding anti-kickback teeth and steel
relieving
A key option that increases productivity when
sharpening saws with large spacing or antikickback teeth. Because the Woodtronic CNC
5D has a double-ended grinding spindle, you
can use a diamond wheel to grind the carbide
tooth at optimum feed rates, and then swing
the head to use a CBN wheel to relieve the
steel saw body behind the tooth shoulder with
a higher feedrate. Depending on the saw, this
can reduce the usual processing time. The
machine can also use the CBN wheel to grind
anti-kickback teeth quickly and efficiently. You
simply define the desired difference between
cutting diameter of the sharpened carbide teeth
and the anti-kickback teeth.

Characteristics
With eight CNC axes and two independent
grinding spindles, the Woodtronic CNC 6F
offers previously unknown levels of freedom.
All kinds of side clearances or radial angles and
virtually any conceivable side profile are now
possible without manual setup. Plus the CNC 6F
can service any blade it manufacturers, thanks
to sophisticated auto-probing.
The side profiles are crucial for achieving a
smooth cut with a circular saw blade. The
Woodtronic CNC 6F’s independent grinding
spindles give you the required precision and the
flexibility to achieve the latest geometries.

An integrated measuring system transfers the
grinding data directly to the control and saves

for manufacturing and regrinding
Characteristics
Our 3-pallet loader fulfills a long-standing desire
in the industry: the ability to automatically
sharpen a diverse batch of blades in an
arbitrary sequence.
You can now put up to 120 saws onto the
pallets in any sequence and the machine
will grind them all automatically. You can
even setup your next batch of blades while
grinding, so the machine is always productive.
A novel magnetic and pneumatic gripping
device automatically adjusts to varying saw
blade diameters

And “setting up” a blade requires just
two parameters. The probe does the rest
automatically. You can even setup offline. Just
connect a computer monitor and keyboard
to the machine from your office. About four
hours of setup time yields 20 hours of grinding
time, so you can be making money while you’re
sleeping!
Depending on the equipment, you cover a
diameter range from 4 - 29.5 in. (100 - 750 mm)
with one loader. Larger diameters possible in
certain applications.

The WALTER Window Mode (WWM) user interface stands for operating
convenience and grinding intelligence worldwide. You’ll immediately
see that this software is designed by grinding pros for grinding pros. It

The new Windows-based software includes oscillation and spark-out

WMC 100 digital control and drive system

The WMC 100 PC-based digital control and
servo drive system combines high grinding performance with minimal non-grinding time.
