By adding classically distinctive appointments and
new high-performance features, the new Renown
Series is poised to continue the rich legacy of
legendary Gretsch drum sets.
NEW Round Renown badge
To make tom mounting quicker and easier, the redesigned
hinged GTS tom bracket/memory lock system is now lower
in mass and features the classic easy-to-handle Gretsch
“T-Wing” wing screw.
NEW Gretsch G1-9035 hinged brackets/memory locks
NEW Low-profile Gretsch GTS
The T-Wing screw design is also incorporated
into the adjustable telescoping bass drum
spurs, the floor tom brackets and the clamshell ball-and-socket tom clamps, which are
included with all Renown sets.
SOME CHANGE IS GOOD
The concept of the Renown redesign was
to give the series fresh visual appeal and
enhance sonic performance, while preserving
its classic Gretsch vibe and spirit. The newly
designed round, two-toned badge features
gleaming silver artwork embossed over a
black nickel background.
SOME THINGS DIDN’T NEED TO CHANGE
The Renown has always been revered for its rock-solid
craftsmanship and excellent sonic performance. Gretsch
still uses the proven and unique Renown formula that
combines North American Rock Maple with a slightly
softer maple species. Each drum is expertly completed
with smooth 30º bearing edges and Gretsch’s exclusive
Silver Sealer interior finish. Heavy-duty Gretsch die-cast
hoops are fitted to all tom and snare shells and classic
Gretsch lugs adorn each drum. This Gretsch-engineered
shell/hoop combination produces explosive attack and
power that is rich with warm, low-end timbre.

The Renown’s re-engineered GTS
system represents a huge advance in tom
suspension technology. Not only is the new
design significantly lighter in weight and
allows greater visibility of the shell,
the new GTS does an even better
job at maximizing resonance.
All Renown kits are equipped
with Remo® drum heads for
powerful, penetrating tones.
With this incredible combination of head, shell and
hoop, the new Gretsch Renown sounds, feels and
plays distinctively Gretsch.
