The Company HARIBO
• In 1920, Hans Riegel founded his own candy company
named HARIBO in the city of Bonn
• 1922 saw the invention of a figure of a bear made from
fruit gum, which was later to become famous as the
HARIBO Goldbär (Gold-Bear)
• Manufacturing of licorice products started in 1925
• Around 1935 Haribos slogan has been created:
“Kids love it so the happy world of HARIBO").
Later the “grown-ups” have been added.
• Today HARIBO has 17 production sites across Europe,
and the company exports its products to more than
105 countries
