We Have Moved!
Celebrating 45 Years in our Community!
St. Albert Family and Community Support Services
(FCSS) have provided preventive social services to
the residents of St. Albert since 1968. FCSS is a
partnership funded by the province, grants and the
City of St. Albert. We collaborate locally to develop
preventive social initiatives that enhance the well being
of individuals, families and communities.
St. Albert FCSS includes:

• CommunityResourceCoordinator
• NeighbourhoodDevelopmentCoordinator
We share information about programs and services in
the community and provide supported referrals.
The Staff of FCSS collaborate with community
members to build on strengths and generate solutions
to community concerns.

Assistance Program
Available to residents of St. Albert, the
subsidy is provided through provincial
money the City of St. Albert received to
help address homelessness and affordable
housinginthecommunity.Throughthe
generous support of United Way, an
Outreach Coordinator has been hired to
assist in the implementation of this program.
Tobeeligibletoapply,applicantsmustmeet
all the following requirements:
• 18yearsofageorolder
• ResidentofSt.Albertforaminimum
of six months
• Currentlyrenting
• Paymorethan30%ofgrossmonthly
income towards rent and heat

“We didn’t realize there were so many kids until we saw them all at the Block Party. There will be many play
dates being planned.”
“After talking to people one-on-one, I realized everyone had something stolen from their vehicle or their
neighbour’s. We have now started informing people to lock vehicles and keep garage doors closed.”
“Everyone was very happy to come out and meet new neighbours. We had a close neighbour bring out his band
members and they played on his driveway. They were awesome!”
“Neighbours re-connected and others got to know each other. There is a real sense of community now on

Early Literacy Preschool Storytimes
Our half hour preschool programs run for 5 weeks. Sessions include a variety of stories in combination
with finger plays, songs, poetry and /or puppetry. Children must be the stated age for the program by
April 30, 2013. Each child may attend one storytime group per session and they must be pre-registered.
Parents of preschoolers are expected to remain in the Library while their child attends a program.
Donations for these programs are welcome and we provide tax receipts if required.
