1. HIKING IN MONTENEGRO
What makes this country very atractive is the
untouched nature, not enough developed area which
gives the real picture of former way of life in this area.
It's unexplainable experience to hike on the mountain
Bjelasica, Komovi, Prokletije, Durmitor, Hajla,
Lovćen....to rest beside the shores of Biogradsko,
Crno, Sisko, Hridsko lakes ...to meet with friendly local
people, to taste healthy home made food, to find out
something about their way of life so tourists can see
how the cheese or wine, or rakija or wool is made...
Itinerary:
Day 1. Podgorica- NP Biogradska Gora
Arrival in NP Biogradska gora.
Accommodation in Bungalows. Dinner- prepared in
nature. Overnight.
Day 2. Breakfast. After that visiting observatory in
NP-short hiking around the lake. ( 7 km). Traveling
to Kolasin, and lunch in restaurant (national
speciality ,,kacamak‟‟). Visiting botanic garden,
ownership of Daniel Vincek. At the afternoon (16:30)
travel to Petnjica. Break coffee near the river Tara. At
19h meeting with local people and accommodation.
Diner. Overnight.
Day 3. Breakfast and stay with family to research
way of life in local family. Meeting at 10 o‟clock and
visiting local mosque and office of Centre of
development, where people can buy souvenirs which
are produced by hand. Short hiking through village
Lagatore to the Assotiation of women ,,Vrijedne
ruke‟‟ where people can see way of producing
carpets. Lunch. After lunch transfer to Rozaje,
mountain Hajla. Hiking about 1.30-2h.
accommodation in mountain hut. This hut is situated
on 1900m above the level of sea, and there are daily
room and two rooms for sleeping- one for men and
other for women. Diner.Overnight.
Day 4.
Breakfast. Hiking to the peak of mountain Hajla.
Massif of mountain Hajla is situated on southern
border valley of Rozaje. Area ia characterized by
numerous peaks above 2000mnm., Canyons and
gorgeos mountain‟s rivers, and picture-sque conifer
forests and mountain pastu-res. The highest peak of
Hajla, 2403m, is located on the fell rocky ridge.

Lunch. Hiking from up hut to down hut. At the
afternoon leave Rozaje and trip to Bijelo Polje,
village Gu-bavac. Accommodation in private villa,
where is available 6 triple rooms, with own
bathroom. Diner.
Day 5.
Breakfast.Hiking tour to Bjelasica. The most
beautiful of Bjelasica, are the "mountain eyes", as
people call the mou-ntain lakes. There are 6: One
on the we-stern slopes (Biogradska) and 5 on the
northern sides (Ursulovacko, Sisko, Pe-sic,
Ursulovacko and small Sisko). The highest peaks
are Bjelasica: Black head (2 139 m), Zeko‟s head
(2 117) and Tro-glava(2 072 m). Lunch in nature.
At the afternoon return to Bijelo Polje. All day
hiking apr. 5-6hours. Transfer Po-brdje-Ravna
Rijeka( pincgauer), Ravna Rijeka-Gubavac by
bus. , 11km away from Bijelo Polje. Dinner.
Overnight.
Day 6.
Breakfast. Visiting village Bistrica. Bistrica is
village far from Bijelo Polje apr. 16 km. Area of
Bistrica village is very rich in water resources.
For hydro-graphic course, the most important
river is Bistrica, right tributary of Lim. Hiking 6km
- one way. By the way visiting local people who
are producing ,,rakija‟‟ and sampling it. Lunch in
nature. Return at the afternoon. Short walking
tour across village and contact with local people,
see way of their life… Dinner. Overnight.
Day 7.
Breakfast. Visit town Bijelo Polje. Bijelo Polje is
the centre of the munici-pality of the same name.
It is unofficially the centre of the north -eastern
region of Mne. This area is characterized by its
hills, mountains and rivers. Bijelo Polje means
literally “white field” in Monte-negrin. Visit plot
of ,,Rakocevic‟‟, where are made all
Montenegrins clothes. Sou-venirs are available
for buying. The most important witness that the
culture of this town developed over the centuries
is the Church of St. Peter dating from 1199. With
the arrival of the Turkish reign in 14th century the
name of Bijelo Polje was changed to Akovo.
Lunch in the resta-urant. Visit Free time. Return

Day 8 . Departure from Bijelo Polje

2. Day
Activity: Biking from Kolasin to Matesevo
thanTresnjevik and Jelovica, Path lenght is 50 km,
Difference in altitude +800/-600 Accomodation in
mountain hotel ,,Jelovica”.
Description: After breakfast, a start from Kolasin
(950mnv), road leads across Matesevo to
Tresnjevik (1572m) , alphalt road, after that across
mountain Bjelasica and beside katun Vranjak
(1750mnv) and further more to Jelovica – macadam
road. Hotel Jelovica has multi bed rooms with
sharing bathroom. Safe storage for bikes are
provided.
3. Day
Activity: Biking from Jelovica to Lubnice-KurikuceSisko jezero -Cmiljaca, Path lenght is app. 28km,
Difference in altitute is +800/-400, Accommodation
in mountain house Cmiljace,
Description: After breakfast we are starting from
hotel. Asphalt path to the village Kurikuce in lenght
of app. 13km, after that 7km of macadam road to
Sisko lake. Path futher more leads partly through
the village, slightly uphill, partly across a beaten
mountain paths and pasturages to the mountain
house. Mountain house is arranged under latest
standards , with double rooms, kitchen, liv-ing room
and sharing bathroom on a attractive location from
where the wondeful view on a city of Bijelo Polje .

Activity: Biking Cmiljace- Majstorovina-Ravna

Description: After breakfast start from mountain
house. Path leads to Bijelo Polje, macadam part is
9km long, and the rest is asphalt road – of which
20km is the main magistral road. Turkish house is
placed in village Gubavac, 11km from the center of
Bijelo Polje on attractive location beside the bank of
river Bistrica. House has 20 beds devided into seven
rooms. Each room has its own bathroom. Storage for
the bikes is provided.

Activity: Biking tour to village Korita and Bistica,
Transfer of people and bikes to village Crhalj (app.
30km) Path lenght is app. 50km Altitude difference

Description: Path leads through attra-ctive villages,
we will have short breaks on viewpoints from where
you can see mountains Bjelasica, Komovi, Prokletije
and Hajla. Major part of the path is on macadam road
35km. Returning to a house in late afternoon .

Activity: Transfer to National Park “Biogradska gora”
and Kolasin, Biking tour Kolasin- Matesevo –VerusaPodgorica, Path lenght app. 70km

Description: Transfer to Biogradsko lake is app. one
hour. The most beautiful part of national park is the
Biogradsko lake which is placed at the altitute of
1094m and the rest of rain forest where some trees
are old over 400years and over 40m high. After the
visit of the park, tran-sfer to Kolasin and starting of
biking from there. Although the tour is long it‟s not
strenous because it has no ascent but descending
toward Podgorica using old road.Whole path is made
of asphalt road. Bike storage is provided.

Description: Asphalt path with beautiful viewpoints
on Skadar lake and Podgorica on the way to river

Itinerery
1. day- meeting with the guide , transfer to hotel,
dinner. Overnight.
Description: hotel 4* is located in the center of
capital town Podgirica.
2. day– hiking tour to canyon of river Mrtvica,
accommodation in Kolasin. Dinner, overnight.
Description: Transfer from Podgorica to staring
place for hiking takes about 45 min. Tour is easy
level, with attractions ,,Mrtvicke grede‟‟, ,,Gate of
wishes‟‟, Old bridge built by king Nikola. Hotel in
Kolasin is 4*, diner, overnight.
3. day– rafting on Tara river.
Description: Transfer to the starting place for
rafting -duration about 2h 30 min. Rafting is
organized 12 km from place Sljivansko, in part of
National park Durmitor. Lunch is after rafting.
4.day- visit to National park Biogradska gora, lunch
in nature. Traveling to Rozaje-mountain Hajla.
Description: Transfer to National Pakr Biogradska
gora takes about 20 min. The most beautiful part of
National park is Biogradsko lake, situated at an
altitude of 1096m. Around the lake is pedestrian
path 3km long, where the visitors can see trees
over 400 years old and over 40 m high. Lunch is
prepared in nature– domestic specialties. After
lunch transfer to mountain Hajla takes cca 2h. Hajla
is situated near town Rozaje at the Border of
Montenegro and Kosovo and the highest peak is at
altitude 2403m. Overnight is in mountain hut, which
was built in 2009, has daily room, 2 bedrooms (one
for male and one for female) and WC. Hiking to the
hut is about 2h.
5 day– hike to the peak of mountain Hajla, traveling to
Bijelo Polje. Description: We start to hike after
breakfast and need about 2 h to the peak. From peak
you can see Kosovo, mountain Prokletije, Bjelasica,
Komovi. Returning to the hut for a lunch. After lunch
leaving the hut and hiking to the place where the bus
waits for us. Transfer to Bijelo Polje, village Gubavac,
where the overnight is - in typical Turkish villa. Villa is
located at very attractive and peaceful place near river
Bistrica ,has availability of 7 rooms, 6 triple and 1
double, and each of them has it's own bathroom. For
food- domestic specialties.

6. day– biking through villages Sipanje-Korita
Description: Transfer to the starting place for biking.
Tour is very interesting, because it passes through
different villages, through very nice view points and
gives you the opportunity to meet very nice people.
Lunch in local family. Biking is about 50km, moderate
level. At the afternoon return to Gubavac. Dinner.
7. day– speleology-canyoning to Djalovica
Description: In area of Bijelo Polje exists more then 70
speleology objects, but the most famous and the most
beautiful is Djalovica cave, but also it is the most
difficult. It is far from Gubavac cca 15km. All equipment
and professional guides are provided by Speleology
Club „Akovo“. Caves are not adapted for free entrance
and need some hours walking to the entrance. In cave
we will spend about 3-4 h. Canyoning through river
Bistrica from entrance of cave to the old church in place
Podvrh. Return to Gubavac at the afternoon.
8.day- hiking Bjelasica
Description: Transfer from Gubavac to Ravna Rijeka by
bus and continue transfer by pincgauer (army's vehicle).
Hiking through mountain Bjelasica, visiting local people
who live there during summer in catuns (authentic local
cottages). At the afternoon return to Gubavac.
9. day–Lovcen-Kotor
Description: Transfer from Bijelo Polje to Lovcen takes
about 3h 30 min. Visiting mausoleum on Lovcen and
continue to Kotor. Hiking 4-5h. Overnight in area of
Boka Bay. Dinner in hotel.
10.day- Departure

4. CULTURAL TOUR IN MONTENEGRO
Have you heard abut a country of „the black hills''?
Montenegro is a real pearl of the Balkans, located in the Western Balkans, along the Adriatic
coast. Cultural background of Montenegro, from prehistory to nowadays, is formed by the
influence of eastern and western civilizations. At the area of only 13.812km2, the diameter of
about 150km, one could notice the influences of Mediterranean, Central-European, East
European and Oriental civilizations and cultures. The diversity in architecture of cultural and
historical monuments, and richness of the museum, archives and library funds, material
evidence are proof of the specific cultural milieu of Montenegro. That Montenegro is worth to
visit, the two areas that are under the protection of UNESCO, Kotor and Durmitor National
Park that part of the Tara River canyon, will convince you.
ITINERARY
1. Day-Arrival on airport Podgorica. Meet and
greet by a guide, transfer to the hotel Princess
(Bar) Accommodation in hotel, dinner.
2. day– Transfer to Kotor, sightseeing the old sity
in Kotor, visit to Perast, island Gospa od Skrpjela,
Budva old town, Transfer to the hotel.
Description: Transfer to Kotor lasts app. 1h and
30min. Sity of Kotor is one of the prettiest towns of
Jadran which is under the protection of UNESKO.
Objects worth of attention are Saint Tripun
cathedral, church of Saint Luke, marine museum.
After visiti free time in the town. Then visit to
Perast, old town center, island Gospa od Skrpjela.
In the afternoon hours transfer to Budva and visit
old town. Return to Bar. Dinner in hotel.
3. day Visit Old town Bar, Old Olive, transfer to
Ulcinj , visit Old town Ulcinj.
Description: Sightseeing of the old city of Bar
and Old Olive ( Stara Maslina is one of the world's
oldest olive trees, located near Stari Bar (City of
Bar) in Montenegro. The tree is said to be over
2,000 years old. A side of the tree is completely
burnt . Transfer to Ulcinj, visiting Old town. Old
city of Ulcinj is the core of cultural-historic heritage
of Ulcinj. On the upper platou of the fortress, right
beside the northern gate is a museum compleks
of the city.
4. day Transfer to Cetinje, a visit to Monastery of
Cetinje, King‟s Nicolas court, Billiard
house ,panoramic view of Cetinje, transfer to
Budva. Sightseeing of the old town of Budva.
Returm to Bar.
Description: Cetinje is historical and today's
metropolis of Montenegro ( the capital city is
Podgorica). New city is named after small river Cetina
which was running through it. On Lovcen, on the
Jezerski peak is mausoleum of bishop and writer
Petar II Petrovic Njegos in which he is buried.
5.day Transfer to monastery Ostrog, a visit to
monastery complex Transfer to Kolasin.
Accommodation in hotel Bianka. Dinner.
Description: The most important center of religious
pilgrimage in our country is sanctuary of Saint Vasilije
Ostroski the Miracle worker. Monastery is the meeting
place of the followers of orthodox, muslim and
catholic religion. It was built by Saint Vasilije Ostroski
1666.year under the Ostrog shelf shelves. According
to folk talk , seven years after his death his whole
body was found.
6.day Transfer to Bijelo Polje, a visit to church of
Saint Peter and church of Saint Nickolas, a visit to
domiciliary museum. Lunch traditional food. Return to
Kolasin.
Description: Church of Saint Peter originates from
XII century, and first Cyrillic script – The Gospel of
Miroslav was written in this church and the original is
kept in museum in Belgrade but in church they keep
the copy. The script is under the protection of
UNESCO. During the rule of Ottoman empire they
changed this church in the mosque but after the
liberation it was returned into primary building and
consecrated again in 1918.year.
7.day Transfer to Pljevlja,a visit to Husein-pasa
mosque, a visit to Monastery of Saint Trojica,
Sightseeing of the bridge on Djurdjevica Tara and the
Tara river canyon, visit to national park Durmitor
(under protection of UNESKO), Transfer to hotel
Description: Transfer lasts for two hours. The
mosque of Husein-pasa is under protection as a
culture monument of the state, with the 42 meters
high tower and it‟s the biggest in Balkan. The bridge
on Djurdjevica Tari is 365 meters long, it has a five
arches and its high 172 meters. It was built from 1937
-1940 in the Kingdom of Jugoslavija. During the World
War II the bridge was destroyed so that enemies can
be disabled to pass on the other side.

5. RELIGIOUS TOUR
ITINERARY
1 Day airport-hotel
Activity: Meeting with guide at the airport Transfer to
the hotel Dinner, accommodation
Description: if the arrival of the group is in the
afternoon hours, overnight is planned in the
Podgorica suburb.
2. Day (Podgorica-Bijelo Polje 120km)
Activity: Transfer to monastery Moraca
Visitation of monastery Transfer to Bijelo Polje
Accommodation, dinner
Description: Monastery Moraca is one of the most
monumental orthodox middle centuries monuments in
Montenegro. It building was supported by Stefan –
son of King Vukan. It was built in XIII century, on a
natural plateau along the right side of the bank of
river Moraca. Complex consists of a church ,
quarters and wide yard. Church is dedicated to
assumption of the Holy Mother. Transfer from
Podgorica to Bijelo Polje lasts for 2.5 hours ( not
counting visits and stops). During transfer beautiful
view stretches over the canyon of river Moraca
(Platije) and surroundings of river Tara. If group
requests we can visit national park “Biogradska gora”.
Hotel in Bijelo Polje is with 3*, placed at the entrance
of the city.
3. Day (Bijelo Polje)
Activity: A visit to church of Saint Peter and church of
Saint Nickolas A visit to monastery of Saint Nickolas
in village Podvrh
Description: Church of Saint Peter originates from
XII century, and first Cyrillic script – The Gospel of
Miroslav was written in this church and the original is
kept in museum in Belgrade but in church they keep
the copy. The script is under the protection of
UNESKO. During the rule of Ottoman empire they
changed this church in the mosque but after the
liberation it was returned into primary building and
consecrated again in 1918.year. Church of Saint
Nickolas is mentioned first in XVI century and the
interior of the church is preserved almost completely.
It was the center of amanuensising. Monastery of
Saint Nickolas in Podvrh dates from XVII century and
stands out with it‟s architecture. In this monastery
was written the Gospes of Dives which is nowdays
kept in the chamber of Monastery of Cetinje. Rood
screen which is kept in the church was presented at
the exhibition “ Art on the ground of Jugoslavija from
prehistory till today” in Sarajevo and Paris.
4. Day Activity: Transfer to Prijepolje, A visit to
monastery Milesevo, Transfer to Pljevlja, A visit to
monastery of Holy Trojica, Transfer to Zabljak
Description: Monastery Milesevo is made in Ras‟s
stile , King Stefan Vladislav ( 1234-1243)built it in
the first beginning of the XIII century as its endowment , he is buried in this church. Frescoes from
monastery are among the best European works
from 13.century and best known of them is the
fresco “White Angel”. Monastery of the Holy Trojica
is mentioned first time in the middle of XVI century.
From the middle of XIX century there was a school
in it. Old manuscripts and printed books are kept in
the wealthy treasury.
5. Day Zabljak-Monastery Ostrog
Activity: Transfer to monastery Ostrog
A visit to monastery complex
Description: The most important center of religious

6. Day Podgorica-Cetinje-Budva
Activity: Transfer to Cetinje, A visit to Monastery of
Cetinje, Transfer to Budva
A visit to monastery Rezevici, Transfer to hotel.
Description: The Monastery of Cetinje is dedicated
to the birth of Holy mother. It was built by Ivan
Crnojevic in 1484. and in that year had become the
center of the episcopacy of Zeta. After 1493. the
bishops in this episcopacy were called
„montenegrin and coastal” . The mona-stery is
destroyed to it‟s basement 1692. by the Turks, and
it was rebuilt by Bishop Danilo, in the place not so
far from the original destination. On this occasion
the rock from the old monastery was built-in the
new one and the plate with the crest of family
Crnojevic and the inscription of Ivan Crnojevic was
carried over to the new monastery. Before 1714.
monastery was burnt , and it was recovered somewhere about 1743.by Montenegrin metro- politan
Sava Ivanovic Njegos. It was up- graded several
times and present appe-arance dates from 1927.

In the monastery is the church of Holy mothers birth
in which are also the relics of Saint Peter
Cetinjskog, hand of Saint John the Baptist and the
particle from the Honorable Cross of the Lord.
Transfer from hotel to Cetinje is app. 45.minutes
and from Cetinje to monastery Rezevici is the same
duration
7. Day ( Podgorica-Kotor 85km )
Activity:
Transfer to Boka-Kotorska bay

A visit to Perast , island “Gospa od Skrpjela”,

Description: Kotor is one of two regions in
Montenegro which are under the protection of
UNESKO. Famous buildings in Old Kotor are –
Cathedral of Saint Tripun, Church of Saint Luke,
marine museum… Perast is 12 km away from Kotor
and represents the best saved baroque commonalty

6.2. WINE TOUR
The combination of climatic conditions, selection of
good technologies and varieties of grape vines
qualified the production of quality wines in Montenegro. Mostly cultivated are autho-chthonal brands
Vranac and Krstac, as well as other world known
brands. For wine production the best conditions are
in the basin of Lake Skadar. The biggest and most
beautiful vineyards in Europe is “Cemovsko field”,
which covers an area of 2310ha and has 11 million
grape-vines.
The largest producer of wines is 13.jul Plantation,
who owns vineyard Cemovsko field. There are
several wine cellars , but the largest is,, Sipcanik”
with about 28,000 bottles of various wines aged
over 10 years, the hall for tasting and specialized
stores. To preserve quality, harvesting is done
manually by 94%, whereby is employed about 2,000
workers. Except this giant, there are more end more
Crmnica local people engaged in viticulture, who
produce top quality wines in smaller quantities,
which have retained the tradition of wine production
more than 100 years.
There are many registered small wine producers
and it is possible to visit during the program, ”the
wine roads”. Festival ” Days of wine and bleak” is
held every year in December at Virpazar and brings
together all wine producers from this region.

About 3,000 species and subspecies In Montenegro
grow, of which 212 represents the Balkan endemics,
and 22 are represented only in Montenegro. Only in
Lake Biograd place 86 species of trees grow. The
diversity of plant life in Montenegro has always
attracted the attention of domestic and foreign
experts, so many travelers during their expedition
discovered a lot of plant species.
One of them is Daniel Vincek -Slovenenian, who
could not resist the beauty and diversity of plant life,
and remained to live in Montenegro. Thus, in 1983
he founded the first botanical garden in Montenegro,
in Dulovinama at Kolasin. There are plants from the
mountains Bjelasica, Komovi, Hajle and Prokletija in
his garden.

Skadarsko lake is home to 281 species of birds,
representing about 50% of all European species
and one of the richest wetlands in Europe.
In almost wild marshy areas of the Skadar Lake is a
mixed colony of pelicans, cormorants, terns, herons
and other bird species. Birdwatching on the Lake
can be arranged from the canoe, or a specially
constructed platform. The best time for bird
watching in winter or autumn, because then fly over
Lake Skadar large flocks of migratory birds.

This drink, which locals are producing is a real elixir,
but very strong, 40-50% vol. of alcohol.
Depending on region in this country , it is made of

famous for it's grape brandy (Loza), northern part
for it's plum brandy ( Sljivovica) and pear brandy
(Viljamovka)...it is made in the special boilers,
mainly during winter and in the spring, depending of
the sort of the fruit.

trail from the late summer to the first winter

was built by Duke Petar Karadjordjevic, kings sonin-law , but king purchased it from him in 1885.
The building has big and small castle, winter
gardens, guardhouses, dancing room,
mediterranean park… The castle is now days a
museum.

Notes:
This program is made according to present train
schedule but it is possible to adapt program if
some changes in schedule happens. Trains do not
offer comfort , do not have a restaurant and delays
are possible.
Turning back is planned with train, as a night ride
from Bar to Belgrade, but it is possible to turn back
from the airport from Podgrica, if the group is
coming with airplane.
