Cursive With Creatures
Handwriting Activities with Animal Facts,
Riddles, Poems, & Tongue Twisters
Grades 1-5
Dear Colleague,
Thank you for purchasing Cursive With Creatures. I use these activities with my students,
and it is my hope that they will enrich your classroom also. The packet contains 56 pages in
all. Included are practice worksheets for each letter of the alphabet, along with a “free write”
page where students can write stories, poems, tongue twisters, etc., for each letter. I have
also added non-themed creative writing forms which contain letter guides to assist students
with proper letter formation and size. Letters are written in the Zaner-Blosser™ cursive
format.
Please note that the text you see on the screen may vary as compared to how the fonts
will appear on paper. The ultimate goal is to print the letters on each worksheet, so they have
been optimized for printing purposes. In particular, small details such as arrows and dots, or
lines, will always display much better on paper. Some tall characters, such as f, g, j, may not
entirely show on the screen, but will on paper. In order to get a flowing text structure, the
font publisher has used a slightly modified character design, so the letters link naturally. This
means that some letters do not have the starting stroke - the small tail on the left. Please remind students to add these upstrokes where needed.
As a creative teacher, you are encouraged to build upon any of these activities, and I welcome your thoughts and suggestions in regard to additions or improvements. Please feel free
to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have.
Sincerely,
Tom Wier
