BIOGRAPHY
Lisa Kline was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. From
an early age, she was interested in fashion and always knew that she
wanted to have her own clothing store when she grew up. Lisa began
working in retail at 15 years of age and then at 18 went to study fashion
design at Syracuse University. While studying there she often traveled
to New York City for fashion trade shows and ultimately realized that
her true passion was for buying and selling clothes. Upon graduating
cum laude, she moved back to Los Angeles and continued to gain retail
experience while scouting possible locations for her own boutique. Lisa
chose a location with no competition (at that time), known as a quaint
interior decorator’s street called Robertson Boulevard. After years of
envisioning it, her childhood dream became a reality in August of 1995
when she opened her first store. She always dressed very “LA”, sexy,
hip, casual, and fun; this is the premise for her store. Lisa Kline set the
tone for what would become not only one of the hottest streets to shop
in Los Angeles, but in the country, and after 19 years in business she’s
still going strong!
With the success of her women’s store, men would often ask, “When are you opening
up a men’s store?” In April of 1999 Lisa Kline Men opened directly across the street
from Lisa Kline Women. She mentioned, “I needed another challenge, there aren’t as
many choices for men as there are for women. Men need help and guidance when they
shop and I love to provide that, it can be life changing!” If the laid back attitude, sexy
staff, and killer duds didn’t draw in the men, the full bar surely did! The store was such a
huge hit that shortly after opening Los Angeles Magazine voted it “Best Men’s Store” in
their Best of LA issue and Forbes Magazine voted Lisa Kline Men one of the top 10
stores in the country. A few celebrities that shop the men’s store include: Jeremy Piven,
Rob Lowe, Jason Lewis, Jesse Metcalfe, Christopher Lloyd, Shawn Marion, Jason Witten,
Kellan Lutz, Barry Bonds, Nickelback, Dave Matthews Band, and Keyshawn Johnson.
In the midst of creating her empire Lisa was married in 2001 to Robert Bryson and
had two beautiful children, Dylan and Colt. She had always been interested in opening a kid’s store but didn’t really have an interest in kids fashion until she had children
of her own. After having a difficult time finding cute clothes for her daughter Dylan,
and being pregnant with her second child Colt, she was ready to embark on her next
adventure. Lisa Kline Kids opened in September of 2006. Many of her long time

women’s store clientele now had children and were able to dress their kids in many
of the brands they wore themselves. Celebrities that shop at Lisa Kline Kids include:
Denise Richards, Jada Pinkett Smith, Brittany Spears, Tori Spelling, Liv Tyler, and
Kate Beckinsale, among others.
In 2007 Lisa Kline was nominated Retailer of the Year, as well as presented a Vision
Award from the Friendly House. Cosmopolitan voted Lisa Fun Fearless Female, and
MR Magazine awarded Lisa the Fearless Leader Award for her Men’s store.
Having produced several fashion shows, Lisa created hundreds of cool looks for
men and women at venues like the Key Club, Hollywood and Highland and various
popular night clubs. Lisa Kline is known for putting brands on the map with her keen
eye. She has built up the following brands: Juicy, Joe’s Jeans, Rebecca Taylor, Paige
Denim, James Perse, Splendid, Ella Moss, Theory, Cynthia Vincent, Ever, Howe,
David Lerner, and Rich & Skinny, and many, many more. She has also designed her
own line of men’s and women’s clothing that has been sold in her store throughout her
career.
Lisa has been featured as a fashion expert on television shows
like Good Morning America, MTV, VH1, Style File, E! News,
Mel B’s It’s a Scary World, and Fox 11. She also appeared as
one of four panel judges on the popular Bravo TV show ‘Launch
My Line’.

‘Launch My Lineup’: bravo’s new fashion show has some familiar faces
July, 2009. Bravo’s latest attempt to fill the gaping hole left by
the departure of “Project Runway” is “Launch My Line,” a reality series that pairs10 professionals who dream of launching their
own clothing lines with 10 established fashion designers, with
the teams of two competing for both glory (the winning “professional” gets their line launched) and cold, hard cash (the established designer in the pair gets $50,000).
The hourlong show’s various permutations and personalities
have been rumbled about for months (first under the title “Celebrity Sew-Off”), but on Monday the full cast of contestants and
judges was announced, and anyone with even a casual knowledge of the Los Angeles style scene will probably recognize a
name or two from the SoCal-heavy list.
Twin Canadian designers (in my estimation, that description
alone qualifies them for a reality show) Dan and Dean Caten (of
Dsquared) are the co-hosts, with local retailer Lisa Kline as one
of the judges and Scoop boutique co-founder Stefani Greenfield
as the other.
Update*[12:27 PM: I forgot to mention that the eightepisode show was shot at several locations right here in the Los
Angeles area -- including one challenge shot on Venice Beach.]
Eight of the 10 contestants and nine of the 10 established
designers currently hang their hats in the Los Angeles area. We’ll
spare you the whole list (you can find them all detailed here)
but thought we’d point out a couple that caught our eye: fashion
scribe Merle Ginsberg, who used to sit a lobbed Louboutin’s
distance away from me at Fairchild Publications’ West Coast offices, where she
worked for W magazine and Women’s Wear Daily (and is probably the only contestant who has slept with Warren Zevon), and perennial hat-wearing fashion week
fixture Patrick McDonald (his bio says he’s known as “The Dandy” to fashionistas
everywhere, though I’ve always just referred to him as “the cat in the hat”).
Also in the mix are an architect, an event planner, a choreographer, a stylist and a
DJ. With that kind of lineup, it looks like the cast could build and launch a viable
Los Angeles Fashion Week all by itself.

WHoA, is sarah Palin’s stylist Also Paris Hilton’s stylist?
October, 2008 - UPDATE: Lisa Kline says not. I
spoke with Lisa Kline of Beverly Hills’ publicist,
who said that, while she wishes she could take the
publicity, it’s not her Lisa Kline. In fact, her Lisa
Kline has never even been to Minneapolis, and she
couldn’t have dressed Sarah Palin because Lisa Kline
boutique doesn’t sell suits. Also, if I wanted, she
could suggest some great items from Lisa Kline’s
baby store on Robertson for little Trig Palin for my
story. So I guess that clears that up.
I also just spoke with Jon from Pacifier again,
Lisa Kline provided
Paris Hilton with the
cut-out leopard-print
swimsuit she wore in the
parody response to John
McCain’s ad comparing
Obama to Paris Hilton
and Britney Spears.
[Britney’s also a client.]
and he’s still pretty sure that the woman he sold Trig’s outfit to looks and sounds like Beverly Hills Lisa in her MySpace
video. I guess we’ll wait for the real [sic] Lisa Kline to step forward and accept her accolades from the world’s media.
LATER UPDATE: Whoops, never mind? The NY Times’ Caucus Blog reports that they have attempted to contact the
Lisa Kline listed on the RNC’s forms. Also, she is Lisa L Kline, while Beverly Hills Lisa is Lisa W Kline. Also, BH Lisa’s
publicist Kate reiterated her Lisa’s denial of any involvement.
Alright, the Palin The $150,000 Shopper saga has officially taken a turn for the ironic.
It’s looking like the stylist who actually did the shopping for the Palin Family was a Beverly Hills celebrity boutique
owner who also styled Paris Hilton. And not just any Paris Hilton, but the Paris Hilton who made a parody political advertisement mocking John McCain’s ad that compared Barack Obama to--that’s right--Paris Hilton.
After the big Pacifier story this morning, I thought the baby store angle on this Palin thing was over, so I moved
some additional research I’d done to my personal blog, greg.org. But then The Pacifier Connection roared back in a big way,
and it turns out that our Champion of Small Town America is actually literally a creation of operatives from the GOP and the
Hollywood Celebrity Fashion Industrial Complex. Seriously. So check out this still-developing story after the jump.
According to the Republican National Committee’s monthly expense report for September, the payee for several of the
fashion-related “campaign accessories” receipts included in the $150,000 Palin Shopping Spree is listed as Lisa L Kine of
New York City. So far, I haven’t found any such person at the address given.
But there is Lisa Kline, whose Google result reads, “Lisa Kline boutique clothing has
hot designer jeans and dress shirts inspired by celebrity fashion style. High-end fashion in
Beverly Hills...” Indeed, Lisa Kline boutique is on Robertson Blvd, the, Ground Zero [sic]
of celebrity fashion.
LA/New York, totally different, right? Except that I forwarded this interview video
from Lisa Kline’s MySpace to the owners of Pacifier, the Minneapolis baby store. Jon, the
co-owner, recognized Kline as the “GOP aide” who he sold Trig’s little outfit to before
Sarah Palin’s speech. In an email, he said he’s “pretty sure it’s her! CRAZY!!!”
I’ve called Kline’s publicist several times today and am now awaiting her response.
[update: in a blog post, the NY Times now identifies the woman in the RNC report as Lisa
Kline, not Kine.]

Alyson Roth holds the 2009 Ms. Wheelchair California title and
was crowned on April 4, 2009 in Sacarmento. This was the same
day that marked the 41st anniversary that the great civil rights
leader, Dr. Martin Luther King, was shot. Both have done and
are doing great things in America on behalf of those seeking
equal rights. On august 29, 2009, she was announced 2nd runner
up in Ms. Wheelchair America in Rapids City, South Dakota.
Congratulations Alyson!
Lisa Kline and Peter Wilderotter were the hosts of a fundraiser at
the X Bar in Hollywood, CA. Lisa Kline has a beautiful boutique
to the stars on Robertson Blvd, and Peter Wilderotter is the President and CEO of the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation.
It was so good to see so many familiar faces and meet great new
people as well! There is definitely a wonderful community of

B
orn and raised in Los Angeles, Lisa Kline
opened her first store when she was 25
years old. She’s a mother of two, widow,
expert, visionary, innovator, trendsetter, entrepreneur, designer, Moluccan cockatoo owner, and TV
personality. Did you get all that? Well, she’s also
bold, courageous, passionate, social, hard-working,
playful, health-conscious, and creative. She put
Robertson Boulevard in Los Angeles on the
“fashion map”. Oh, and she happens to have the
most fabulous brand on the planet… Lisa Kline.
LR: Right now I’m coveting a million Lisa
Kline items! How do you choose your inventory?
Lisa: I like your style! Thank you! I choose what
I like and what’s true to the Lisa Kline customer. I
choose things that represent Los Angeles style. I buy
things you can dress up and down and have fun with.
LR: In addition to clothing and other goods,
what made you decide to sell artwork too?
Lisa: I have always bought that way. I love
cool art, promoting people and creative things.
The Pin-up Girl prints have some history. All
of them hung in stores in my dressing rooms, I
hand-picked them at the Rose Bowl and then
got them framed for the stores as display.
LR: So, you’ve created fragrances and
lotions in addition to your clothing and
jewelry. Can you tell me about them?
Lisa: I have always wanted to do a fragrance.
I have worked on the scents for over a year. I have
a day scent that is a fruity musk with blackberries,
vanilla, and pomegranate, as well as a night scent
which is a floral musk with water lily, cedarwood,
and jasmine. I am still working on the packaging
so the perfume isn’t out yet.
Lisa Kline
LR: Wow! So, tell me about how you
started it all.
Lisa: When I drove down Roberston Blvd.,
I knew that was the street I needed to be on. I
chose it off instinct and intuition, which is how
I do pretty much everything.
LR: You’ve recently made the decision to
close your brick and mortar stores and modernize by concentrating solely on your online store.
Tell me about “LK Presents” on your site.
Lisa: This is my way of endorsing the brands
I love and believe in.

Dr. Frank Ryan bony Pony Ranch Fundraiser Review
– Literally Malibu’s Hottest spot for a Good Cause
In the remote canyons of Malibu high near the Santa Monica Mountains, the
stage was set and provided a stunning backdrop for an event that has personal meaning for renowned plastic surgeon to the stars, Dr. Frank Ryan. His
non-profit organization, the Bony Pony Ranch Foundation, hosted a fun-filled
western round up filled with live music, tasty barbeque, relaxing spa treatments, exotic petting zoos and many more activities for all ages.
Dr. Ryan’s foundation is an organization that helps underprivileged and at-risk
youth flourish and maximize their potential in a positive and nurturing atmosphere. With a high temperature for the day of 107 degrees, the scorching
weather did not hinder the festivities from taking place as volunteer workers
and patrons of the ranch provided complementary spray mist, sunblock and
covered tents where one could relax and enjoy the festivities.
As one entered the ranch, various areas of interest were stretched out in a
bazaar-like style. Areas of interest range from a general store that sold various
merchandise such as cowboy hats, plush animals, t-shirts all embossed with
the Bony Pony Ranch logo to an exotic petting zoo with goats, ostriches, iguanas, pony rides, a California condor and alpacas.
The crowd enjoyed a vast amount of barbeque. From Angus style hamburgers to barbeque chicken to tasty side dishes and refreshing drinks, the BBQ
Express made sure that everyone did not go away hungry or thirsty.
This event would not be complete without a celebrity photo opportunity. Instead of your usual red carpet, the Bony Pony Ranch rolled out the hay, cactus
and cowboy hats. Celebrities attending included: Donovan Leitch (HEDWIG
AND THE ANGRY ITCH), Lauren McKnight ( UNACCOMPANIED MINORS and FOREVER STRONG), Tichina Arnold ( EVERYBODY HATES
CHRIS), Molly Ringwald ( SIXTEEN CANDLES), reality stars Spencer
Pratt and Heidi Montag (MTV’s THE HILLS), Kyle and Christopher Massey
( ZOEY 101 and THAT’S SO RAVEN), Lindsay Clubine ( DEAL OR NO
DEAL) and designer Lisa Kline just to name few.
On Bony Pony Ranch’s mainstage, the Deacon Jones Blues Band performed
with absolute perfection for the crowd. Their performance provided a bluesy
atmosphere that provided the icing on the cake.
And if that wasn’t enough excitement for one day, fashion designer Lisa Kline
provided a stimulating fashion show with summer appropriate inspired clothing. With hair done by the Kevin Josephson Salon to cowboy boots provided
by Boot Star and choreography provided by James Campbell Productions,
the Lisa Kline fashion show provided an unexpected and energetic jolt for the
afternoon’s event as models stomped the runway with music by DJ Kane.

When you’re talking about retail boutiques, Lisa Kline is one of the first names that
comes to mind. Undoubtedly a leader and innovator, she led the L.A. shopping revolution that is Robertson Boulevard. She helped transform it into one of the hippest
shopping streets by picking it as the location of her first Lisa Kline Boutique in 1995.
By handpicking much of the merchandise, her devotion and love for clothing is clearly
translated whenever you step into one of her boutiques, as well as online. You’ll catch
celebrities like Liv Tyler, Jessica Biel, and Eva Longoria shopping regularly at her
store…and paparazzi not too far behind. Obviously, Lisa has a pulse on the style scene,
and we couldn’t think of a better person to tell us what’s hot (and not) right now! She
let us in on what her latest obsessions are…all you have to do is click below to find out!
ONE. The Esperanza in Cabo — My husband
and I love going to Cabo. The Esperanza is the
most amazing, beautiful, and luxurious place.
There really isn’t anything more to say about it.
TWO. Vargas Girls — I am literally obsessed
with the images of Vargas girls. They represent
the quintessential woman – beautiful, sexy, and
feminine. Every woman should strive to have
a little Vargas in them. I scoured flea markets
when I was younger, and now I have a huge collection of framed Vargas girls that hang in my
office. They really inspired my logo of the sexy
mudflap girl.
THREE. The Thomas Crown Affair — I love
the entertainment, fun and the raciness of this
movie. I love that it portrays the high life with
tons of glamour and sexiness.
FOUR. My kids and my husband — I’m a working mom with an amazing family.
My two kids, Dylan, 4 and Colt, 2, are so cute, full of energy and so smart. They are
the models on my kids website, too! I couldn’t ask for a more supportive husband, who
never forgets to tell me how much he loves me.
FIVE. Sexy Clothing — I am obsessed with making women sexy. It is my job. It’s
what I do. It’s what I live for. I love making a woman feel confidant and good about
herself. Some of my favorite lines that make women sexy are skin tight LnA leggings,
Ingwa Malero dresses with sexy cutouts, and Kritik for laid back casual days.
Thanks so much for sharing, Lisa! For more information or to purchase some fabulous
new items to add to your wardrobe, visit www.lisakline.com.

Lisa Kline opens beverly Hills store With star-studded Party
If you’re one of the four people left in the Los Angeles area who haven’t yet
been to Lisa Kline, now you have another chance! The new Beverly Hills
Lisa Kline store opened last month with a gala celebration hosted by Lisa
Kline herself, Samantha Harris (E! News, Dancing with the Stars), and designer Rachel Pally.
The new 2,500 square foot store, which is located at 315 S. Beverly Drive (at
Gregory), was packed to the rafters with VIP guests, including Hayden Panettiere, Lauren Conrad, Stacy Keibler, Ian Ziering, Cheryl Burke (Dancing with
the Stars), Audrina Patridge (The Hills), and many more. Sadly for us, the
place was so packed that Ziering and Burke were unable to show us some of
their patented Dancing with the Stars moves (not that we didn’t ask them!).
Throughout the evening guests enjoyed cocktails sponsored by
Belvedere vodka and Chandon champagne, with hors d’oeuvres
by Adonis Catering. The huge crowd was no doubt due to the fact
that Lisa Kline stores have become so popular in recent years,
appearing in everything from E! specials to Queer Eye for the
Straight Guy to General Hospital and everywhere in between.
This is the fifth Lisa Kline store to open in the Los Angeles area
since Kline started the business in 1995 (when she was just 25
years old). In the twelve years since the first store opened, Kline
has been credited with building up Robertson Blvd into a celebrity shopping mecca which now includes Ghost, Kitson, and both
Lisa Kline and Lisa Kline Men (which opened in 1999). Lisa
Kline shops (both online and retail) feature an eclectic mix of
designers, including Kline’s own exclusive private label for women and men
as well as many others like Rebecca Taylor, Juicy Couture, Tracy Watts, Foley,
Cosabella, Ella Moss, Blue Cult, James Perse, Paper Denim and Cloth, Paul
Smith, G-Star, Smedley, Theory and Tse.
Another great thing about Lisa Kline stores is that celebrities are drawn to
them like magnets, so even though you might end up paying a little more, you
are almost guaranteed to have a good story once you’re done shopping. If
you’re not in the Los Angeles area, you can still get the latest designs worn by
everyone here by visiting Kline’s website, at www.lisakline.com.
A portion of the evening’s sales benefited the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer
Foundation.

A day at Lisa Kline Los Angeles July 2008
April 2010 - And here I thought it would be just another in-store event. Little
did I know it would be the event that would change my company forever!! It
was a beautiful summer day in Los Angeles when I had arranged to have an in
store event with the famed Lisa Kline Boutique (a trendy boutique on Robertson
Blvd. that carries my line, Geftaki Swimwear).
We started the event at 12:30 pm, it was a little slow at first and then the Saturday afternoon traffic started to pour in around 1:45 pm. Lisa had hired a model
to wear the swimwear for the event, her name was Brittany. She was tall, thin
with long blonde hair and the suits looked amazing on her!
I was busy for most of the afternoon introducing my
self to the customers and helping them find suits that
looked best for their body type. Around 2:30 I took
a break and stepped out side for a few minutes to get
some fresh air. I noticed a swarm of paparazzi in front
of Alice and Olivia (a boutique next to Lisa Kline) I
asked one of the onlookers who was inside. They said
“Paris and Nicky Hilton”. It just so happen to be when
my friend Rachel was meeting me at the trunk show. I
told Rachel who was in the store next to us. I quickly
put some Geftaki Bikinis in a cut little pink bag with
our logo on it and gave it to Rachel. Rachel broke her
way through the swarm of paparazzi and gave the bag
to Paris and said “here, they are swimsuits from the
designer”.
After and hour passed Paris and Nicky were done shopping at Alice and Olivia. Now there was less paparazzo
than before so I was able to get next to Paris and tell
her we are having a trunk show at Lisa Kline for my
line Geftaki Swimwear and invited her to stop in. I
also gave Nicky a bag of Geftaki Bikinis and told her “I
want you and your sister to have matching suits.” While
it was a brief encounter both the girls were very nice.
I was so excited!! Paris who was constantly in the
public eye now had some of my swimsuits. I could not wait to see if she would
wear the suits we gave her.
Apparently she loved the suits that we gave her so much that she went back to
Lisa Kline and purchased a few more. She donned Geftaki’s Animal Attraction
monokini in a political spoof she during the 2008 Presidential election. The
spoof was all over the internet and was seen by over 6 million people!!
This one trunk show changed our company forever.

AsHtoN KutCHER sHoPs At LisA KLiNE?
We just caught hottie Ashton Kutcher at Lisa Kline on Robertson
Blvd, but don’t let those shopping bags fool you! The punkster was
being followed by a camera crew, so presumably he’s shooting a
scene for his new movie Spread. However, we all know that Robertson is paparazzi central, so perhaps he’s doing something for Pop
Fiction. While we’d like to think he was shopping for Demi and
himself, we’re pretty sure he’s up to something else!

LiNDsAY LoHAN FLAsHEs HER LEGGiNGs
LiNE FoR PAPARAZZi At LisA KLiNE
May, 2008. Lindsay was at the Lisa Kline boutique on
Robertson Boulevard to promote her line of leggings with
two long-legged models, but it went from a great marketing
venture to paparazzi mayhem. The front of the boutique
became invisible to the hustle and bustle of the paparazzi
trying to get a shot of Lohan pretty much treating the two
models as props. Take a look at the mayhem below:

We all love Brad’s style –and that he is a concerned dad– so
we’re always interested in where he’s picking up his cool, casual
clothes. He snagged a couple shirts, including a buttondown
from Edun and a henley from Ever, from Lisa Kline Men, which
is a fast favorite of other well-dressed guys like Owen Wilson
and Jeremy Piven. Lost star Josh Holloway was just in and
picked up 575 jeans and an Ever hoodie, (while co-star Evangeline Lilly happened to be cruising Lisa Kline’s womens store
down the street). And if you can’t get there in person to shop–
and stargaze– check out the great selection on their website (and
bookmark it for the guy in your life).
