Welcome
Welcome to the 2015-16 season of artistic events at Bedford
Modern School. The months ahead bring a packed programme of
music, drama, dance, film and exhibitions featuring students from
Years 3 to 13.
This Autumn’s exciting programme includes such perennial favourites
as the House Drama Competition, the traditional Christmas Concert
and the Service of Nine Lessons and Carols. Theatre In Transit, our
Year 12 and 13 Theatre Company, present a new production of The
Revenger’s Tragedy this November, while our youngest students will
be displaying their musical skills in the Junior School Concert and
their acting abilities in the annual Christmas Production. The School is
delighted to be hosting, and performing in, ACT! - a brand new drama
festival featuring schools from across the county.
Open Mic Night, Dance! and Speech and Drama Showcases return in
February followed by a spectacular staging of Little Shop Of Horrors.
This production, showing over five nights, features students from Years
11 to 13 and promises to sell out fast so be sure to book early! Finally
Film Night highlights the work of our Sixth Form Film Studies students.
The Summer Term sees the School Choir and orchestral musicians
perform in the Classical Showcase whilst students from Years 7 to 10
present their production of the Wild West classic Calamity Jane in May.
Finally, to finish the year, don’t miss the Summer Concert or the Art
Exhibitions from our GCSE and A Level students.
We look forward to seeing you and thank you for your continued support.

Little Shop of HORRORS
Down-and-out shop worker Seymour
becomes an overnight sensation when
he raises a plant that feeds on fresh
blood. Soon the plant is taking over
the world and offering Seymour fame
and fortune in exchange for feeding its
growing appetite. Will Seymour give in to
the plant’s demands and will he win the
heart of kooky shop assistant Audrey?
With a mixture of popular music styles
– including rock ’n’ roll, doowap and
Motown – Little Shop of Horrors is a
charming and funny boy-meets-girl,
plant-eats-world musical that never fails
to entertain. But remember… don’t feed
the plants!
