The story of RockPointe Church
goes back to March 2001, when
Ron and Allison Holton began
to pray and dream of planting
a new church. At the time,
Ron was serving as the singles
minister at Prestonwood Church.
As this process began, Ron and
Allison were encouraged to pray
specifically about the newly
developed Lantana area. This
began an incredible journey of
seeing the Lord direct, provide
for and clarify the vision of
RockPointe. After meeting
at several different locations
throughout the years and even
changing our name, the story
continues to unfold today in
ways we couldn’t have imagined.

OUR MISSION
WHY ARE WE HERE?
RockPointe Church exists
“to love God with all that
we are while making
more and better
followers of Christ.”
Our love for God
is simply a response
to His amazing love
(Romans 5:8). We want to
share that good news with
everyone. We strive to fulfill
Christ’s Great Commission
(Matthew 28:18-20) while loving
and leading people in order
to build His Kingdom
via the local church.
HOW DO WE ACCOMPLISH OUR MISSION?
FOUR ROCKPOINTE FAMILY VALUES:
Different families have different priorities and values. We believe there are four key elements when it
comes to being part of the RockPointe family as we fulfill the mission set before us:
SPIRITUAL
DISCIPLINES
Connecting with God
Praying and studying
God’s Word are essential
to growing in our faith.
Giving our attention to
what God has to say
and yielding our lives
to His instruction leads
to a purposeful and
meaningful life. It’s the
“abundant life” Jesus
talks about. “I came that
they may have life and
have it abundantly”
(John 10:10b).
PAGE 3
SMALL GROUPS
Connecting with
each other
God has wired us to
enjoy relationships with
others. At RockPointe,
small groups provide a
way for us to connect
with others in a safe,
genuine environment.
Groups meet at
different locations and
times while providing
a variety of topics and
activities for people in
all seasons of life.

SERVING
Connecting with
needs of others
Serving at RockPointe
means we give our time
and talent to glorify God
while benefiting others.
We believe God has
provided every member
of the body of Christ
with certain gifts and
talents to serve Him
while meeting the
needs of others.
SHARING
Connecting with our
community and
the world
When we talk about
sharing at RockPointe
we mean three things:
1) Sharing our life
2) Sharing our resources
3) Sharing our faith
OUR VISION
WHO ARE WE HOPING TO BECOME?
The dream of RockPointe Church is to continually:
Receive
Equip
WE ARE A RECEIVING CHURCH
Jesus said, “Come to me, all who
labor and are heavy laden, and I
will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
It is common to be weary and
burdened—to have struggles and
baggage. We are broken people.
At RockPointe, it’s okay to come
just as you are. You don’t have to
clean yourself up first or pretend
that everything is perfect. We
care about you and are glad to
share life with you.
WE ARE AN
EQUIPPING CHURCH
Do you expect a carpenter to
build a house without a saw or
a set of blueprints? Wouldn’t it
be better if there were someone
to help out with the heavy lifting
instead of trying to do it all by
himself? In the same way, we
want to come alongside and
help you develop the skills and
wisdom needed to live a life of
meaning and purpose. Our goal
is to help you know God’s best
for your life (Hebrews 13:20-21)
while helping you discover the
freedom of knowing and living by
the truth of God’s word (2 Timothy
3:16). Experiencing the peace that
comes as you depend on the
power of God is our desire for
believers (Galatians 5:22-25).
Impact
Send
WE ARE AN
IMPACTING CHURCH
One of the greatest blessings of
the Christian life is watching God
use us to serve and to encourage
those around us. We want to use
the gifts and resources God has
given us to minister to children,
students, men and women.
There are a multitude of
impacting opportunities right
here within the RockPointe
Church family, as well as in
our local neighborhoods
and communities. RockPointe
Church wants to be a church
that positively impacts the
life of every person who
enters our doors, as well
as those living nearby.
WE ARE A
SENDING CHURCH
Jesus said, “Go therefore and
make disciples of all nations”
(Matthew 28:19-20). We are
probably not going to become a
mega-church, although there’s
nothing wrong with that—it’s
just not our calling. Instead,
a unique part of our vision is
to send people out, releasing
leaders and families to start
new churches, encouraging
and supporting those who are
mission-minded and partnering
with those who have a passion
for loving and serving the
neglected and needy.

HOW CAN I GROW
MY WALK WITH
JESUS CHRIST?
Our heart’s desire is to see you
enter into a personal relationship
with Jesus Christ. In order to grow
into a relationship with Jesus Christ,
one must be spiritually “born again”
(John 3:3), repenting from a lifestyle of
sin and selfishness, accept Jesus our
Redeemer as Savior and enter
into a new life in Jesus
Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).
AM I TRULY A CHRISTIAN?
BEGINNING MY PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
God’s Beautiful Plan for Mankind
God created every person on the earth in His wonderful image. We were
created for fellowship with God. God wants a genuine ___________________ with you.
“We love because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19). “I will walk among you and be your
God, and you shall be My people” (Leviticus 26:12).
Mankind’s Problem: Sin and Separation from God
Unfortunately, our sinful nature and our sinful choices separate us from a holy and
righteous God. Sadly, our relationship with God is broken because of sin. “For all
have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
We are _________ __________________.
“For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become accountable
for all of it.” (James 2:10).
Because we are all guilty, we cannot ______________ ourselves (good works, going to church, being
“good,” being baptized, obeying the 10 commandments—none of these can save you).
God’s Outward Dilemma: To Punish Sin or Forgive Sin?
Since God created us for relationships, we have a real problem due to sin. Yet, the Bible declares,
“God is love” (1 John 4:8). The God of the Bible is a forgiving and loving God!
God is ____________ so He doesn’t delight in punishing you. “I have no pleasure in the death of
the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live [God pleads:] turn back, turn back
from your evil ways” (Ezekiel 33:11).
The Bible also declares “The Lord…does not leave the guilty unpunished” (Exodus 34:7).
God is ____________ and just, so He must punish sin. God cannot invite any sin into His presence.
So how did God solve this dilemma involving your life and mine (eternally)?
PAGE 7
God’s Answer: His Own Son, Jesus
God sent His perfect Son to live righteously (fulfill the Law), to be tried, convicted, tortured and
killed—so that in Jesus’ life and death, He took our punishment for sin.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… and the Word
became flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:1,14).
Jesus Christ is 100% ______ and 100% ______. As God and Man, Jesus’ life and death provided a way of
salvation to the world. He was resurrected to demonstrate that He is God.
“We like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on
Him the iniquity of us all” (Isaiah 53:6).
Jesus Christ became your ____________________ and paid your death penalty.
“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that He might bring us to God,
being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the Spirit” (1 Peter 3:18).
Jesus Christ rose from the dead and now offers you a ______ ________!
Our Response: Faith
Since Christ paid for the penalty of sin, asking Christ into your life, so that He would apply that penalty
(His substitution) to your life personally, is the necessary response.
Faith is more than simply knowing the right ______________________ about Jesus. “You believe that God
is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!” (James 2:19).
Faith is transferring trust from ________ to Jesus Christ alone for a new life with God.
“Saying ‘Jesus is my Master,’ is to embrace with all your heart God’s work for you in His Son.
You’re not ‘doing’ anything; you’re simply calling out to God, trusting Him to do it for you—that’s
salvation. With your whole being you receive God, setting things right in your
relationship with Him” (Romans 10:9-10, The Message).
God’s Gift to us: New Life
“The free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).
New life with God is a ________ ________. “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this
is not your own doing; it (grace) is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast”
(Ephesians 2:8-9). New Life with God is not ____________ or deserved!
Perhaps now is the time to invite Christ into your life, once and for all-time: “Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I
am a sinner and need your forgiveness. I believe that you died for my sins. I want to turn from my sins. I
now invite you to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow you as the Lord and Savior of
my life. Lord, have mercy on me, save me now in this moment, I pray. I humbly ask this in your name,
Jesus Christ, Amen.”

WHAT DOES ROCKPOINTE BELIEVE AND TEACH?
Our Core Doctrines:
The following doctrinal statement represents RockPointe Church’s foundational beliefs. It is intended to
summarize, but not comprehensively review, the basic doctrinal beliefs of our fellowship. We hold the
following statements to be true according to Scripture.
1) Concerning the Scripture:
We believe God breathed out the original writings of both the Old and New Testaments to human writers
by means of the Holy Spirit, who chose the words employed according to the personality and background
of the human author. We believe that these writings are without error and are of supreme and final
authority in the lives of believers in any age (2 Timothy 3:16).
2) Concerning God Expressed as a Trinity:
We believe that there is but one true God, who eternally exists as three distinct persons: Father, Son and
Holy Spirit. Though God is One and we worship Him as such, He has revealed Himself within a Triune
expression (three-in-One), which we refer to as the Trinity. Each person of the Trinity exclusively shares in
the work of creation, providence (maintenance of the universe), redemption and judgment—and is
to be revered as God (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
3) Concerning Jesus Christ as God and Man:
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Eternal Son—He entered the human race, was conceived by the
Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary—and that He is fully God and fully man. He lived a life of perfect
obedience to the Father and voluntarily fulfilled the will of God by laying down His life as the atoning
sacrifice for humanity’s sin. Having fully satisfied Divine justice, He achieved salvation for all who place
their trust in Him. Raised from the dead by God, Jesus ascended to heaven and is currently interceding
for His own. We are awaiting His return to consummate God’s kingdom and redemptive plan
(Matthew 1:22-23; John 1:1-5; Romans 1:3-4).
4) Concerning the Holy Spirit as God:
We believe the Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to
make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of
conversion. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth and guidance
in doing what is right. The maturing Christian seeks to live under His control daily
(2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13; John 14:16-17).
5) Concerning Humanity:
We believe that man was created in the image of God, but was separated from God because of Adam’s
sin. As a result, the image of God in man became damaged—defaced, but not erased. Therefore, all
human beings are born with a sinful nature and are unable to function in moral responsibility before God.
We need spiritual regeneration before we can become what God meant us to be
(Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; 59:1-2; Romans 3:23).
PAGE 9
m
6) Concerning Salvation:
We believe that Jesus died upon the cross as a sinless substitute for sinners of all
ages and times, and that the Father was thus, by means of the Spirit, reconciling
the world to Himself. All who receive the risen Jesus as Savior and Lord,
by grace through faith, are spiritually born into permanent membership
in the family of God. Salvation is accomplished by God for the glory of God
and the benefit of man. A converted Christian cannot lose his or her salvation
(Romans 5:1; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6; 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26).
7) Concerning the Church:
We believe there is one true universal Church, consisting of all who recognize Jesus Christ as Savior and
Lord. The body of Christ finds expression as local churches, where those who have been regenerated
by the Spirit come together. Operating under the direction of Jesus as Lord and Head of His body and
through godly servant leadership, believers devote themselves to worship, prayer, teaching of the Word,
observance of baptism and communion, fellowship, service to the body and outreach to the lost
(Matthew 16:18; 28:18-20; Acts 2:42-47; 20:28; 1 Corinthians 12:7-12; Ephesians 4:7,11-13).
8) Concerning the Resurrection and the Future:
We believe in the imminent, bodily and visible return of Jesus Christ to this earth to bring to completion
His redemptive and kingdom plan. All people who have died will be raised from the dead, and those
who have been redeemed will participate in eternal life in the presence of God, but all those who have
rejected Christ will suffer eternal punishment and separation from God (1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13;
Matthew 25: 31, 34, 41; 1 Corinthians 15:50-56; 1 Thessalonians 5:1-2, 3-4, 8;
2 Thessalonians 2:1-3, 8-10; Revelation 3:5; 20:12; Revelations 21:1-5).
9) Concerning the Family:
God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society. It is composed of persons
related to one another by marriage, blood, or adoption. Marriage is the uniting of one man and one
woman in covenant commitment. It is God’s unique gift to reveal the union between Christ and His church
and to provide for the man and the woman in marriage the framework for intimate companionship, the
channel of sexual expression according to biblical standards, and the means for procreation of the human
race. Children, from the moment of conception, are a blessing and heritage from the Lord. Parents are
to demonstrate to their children God’s pattern for marriage (Genesis 1:26-28; 2:15-25; 3:1-20; Exodus 20:12;
Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Joshua 24:15; 1 Samuel 1:26-28; Psalms 51:5; 78:1-8; 127; 128; 139:13-16;
Proverbs 1:8; 5:15-20; 6:20-22; 12:4; 13:24; 14:1; 17:6; 18:22; 22:6,15; 23:13-14; 24:3; 29:15,17; 31:10-31;
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12; 9:9; Malachi 2:14-16; Matthew 5:31-32; 18:2-5; 19:3-9;
Mark 10:6-12; Romans 1:18-32; 1 Corinthians 7:1-16; Ephesians 5:21-33; 6:1-4;
Colossians 3:18-21; 1 Timothy 5:8,14; 2 Timothy 1:3-5; Titus 2:3-5; Hebrews 13:4; 1 Peter 3:1-7).

WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE
OF BELIEVER’S BAPTISM?
1. What is the meaning of water baptism?
Water baptism depicts a picture of an inward
spiritual reality by means of an outward physical
act, as a display that a person has accepted
Christ as Savior. When we trust Jesus as Savior,
we become an immediate participant in the
death, burial and resurrection life of our Lord
(Romans 6:4). The person we were before trusting
Christ (i.e. dominated by the sin nature) has
died, and we have been raised as a new person
with new life (i.e. with a capacity for spiritual
things and a permanent relationship with God).
Every believer is “baptized” by the spirit at the
moment of salvation. Water baptism depicts and
publicizes this conversion as they join the Body
of Christ.
2. In order to receive salvation, is it necessary
both to believe in Jesus and to be baptized?
The New Testament clearly teaches in over 200
instances that salvation is based upon personal
faith in Jesus Christ alone—apart from any other
action. Water baptism, then, does not contribute
to personal salvation. As stated above, baptism
represents and serves as a public testimony
to what has already occurred in our lives at
salvation. Baptism is the outward symbol of the
inward change that has occurred.
3. Why should a person receive
water baptism?
1) CHRIST COMMANDS IT While the words we read
in Matthew 28:19-20 were initially directed to his
disciples, certainly Jesus intended that all who
would later believe in Him should receive water
baptism. Clearly the apostles understood Him,
because water baptism immediately became the
public sign of a believer’s entry into the Christian
community.
PAGE 11
2) CHRIST EXEMPLIFIED IT Jesus,
himself, was
baptized, giving it special significance. In Greek,
baptism can be translated as “identification” or
“association.” Jesus’ own baptism served as His
public identification with the Heavenly Father, as
well as His association with the message of John
the Baptist. As we follow the example of Christ
in baptism, we identify ourselves with the One in
whose name it is done (Colossians 2:12).
3) CHRIST IS HONORED BY IT
He is honored by this
clear testimony of our belief and submission.
The book of Acts illustrates when nearly 3,000
God-fearing Jews accepted his message and
were saved, they were baptized as a symbol of
their new commitment. This was no small thing
in their case, since it often meant disinheritance
from their families, ostracism and persecution.
Being baptized truly signaled a new way of life
for the converted Jew.
4) BAPTISM HAS BEEN PRACTICED SINCE THE
BEGINNING OF THE CHURCH In the early days
of
the church, baptism and belief were so closely
tied together that the references don’t always
say that converts believed, but simply that they
were baptized (Acts 8:12). In that day and time,
there was no separation of the two, because no
one would consider being baptized unless there
was a solid commitment to his or her belief.
4. Should infants receive water baptism?
Since water baptism pictures a spiritual
relationship which begins at salvation, and
since salvation occurs through personal faith in
Jesus Christ, we believe a person should not
receive water baptism until he or she is able to
understand and respond to the Gospel. Christian
parents have a natural desire for their children
to receive salvation, but water baptism cannot
bring about this salvation. We do, however, offer
“baby dedication” (different from baptism).
