zimut Yachts shipyard which is part of the Azimut Benetti Group has resumed its working relationship with naval architect Stefano Righini who was also responsible for the
new Azimut 84 which was presented at the International Yacht Show in Genoa October last
for the first time. The Azimut 84’s hull which is just short of 24 metres is the largest in Azimut’s Flybridge Collection. It is mainly aimed at satisfying the requirements of ambitious owners who are unwilling to sustain the extra costs of a small ship of over 24 metres which is
made up of the 88, 95, and 100’ Leonardo of the same “collection”.
For some aspects the new 84’ takes after the 82’ its now out of production predecessor. As
for design it boasts the Avigliana yard’s latest lines, innovative sinuous flowing window panelling in the superstructure, a lovely living area forward and the unmistakable ever sporty hard
top over the fly bridge. Azimuth Yachts’ in house team worked with architect Achille Salvagni for the interior layout design who was already working on the 88’ which

features an elegant sober interior decor which is richly furnished but not excessive. The styling of the new 84’in some ways recalls the 88’s layout with its partitioning which clearly wishes to separate night quarters from the convivial day sections. The lower deck hosts a generous full beam suite conveniently situated at amidships for the owner. It is made up of a king
size bed brightened by ample ports in the top sides, a dressing table, a lounge corner a walk
in wardrobe, a bathroom with separate shower cubicle. The interior decorating features a
wistful play of light and darks shades made up by kotò wood for the lighter ones and eucalyptus for the darker shades. Lacquered furniture and fabric lined ceiling panels complete the
picture in which natural and artificial light play an important role, as for the first type which
abounds thanks to numerous and well fashioned ports and window panels, while at night fall
a dedicated software produces specific lighting among a range of options. Still along

there’s a small landing with a set of stairs leading below to the lower deck, a day head and
to the galley which is equipped to be operational also in demanding conditions. The dining area seating eight is amidships and an adjacent living area looks out onto the cockpit en
suite, where one can lounge on a divan or simply choose to step down onto a hydraulically operated and well equipped beach platform
which can also host a 3.85 metre tender for a
total load of 500 kg,
To enjoy the sun and relax while cruising or for
added privacy in harbour the Azimut 84 sports
a comfortable bow area with a sofa facing the
bow a coffee table and large sun pads., but to
best let the sun soak in, dedicated tan fans will
probably opt for the flying bridge which is the
ideal place with an all round view, a second
helm/controls station, several large sun pads,
a barbecue cabinet and a round shaped hydro-massage tub.
