Objective:
According the guidelines and the commitment of Minister of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment, Dr
Abdelkader Amara, during his speech at the launch of the national road map for the development of geological
and geothematic mapping 2015-2025, the Direction of Geology organizes «The geological days of Morocco», from
10th to 12th May 2016 in the Ministry of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment, Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco.
These geological days, emblematic event in the history of the Geological Service of Morocco, is a moment of
meeting and exchange between national and international geologists, engineers, university and academic
researchers, operators and partners of the Ministry of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment.
To support the national strategy of development of the mining sector, whose dynamic is part of the government
program, this edition of Geological days of Morocco, will be particularly oriented towards geology applied to
mineral exploration.
Themes :
The topics that will be discussed are:
Geoscience (A):
• Studies and fundamental research Geoscience: stratigraphy, structural geology, magmatism,
metamorphism, sedimentary rocks, geochemistry, geophysics, hydrogeology, etc.;
• Works of geological and geothematical infrastructures.
Economic geoscience (B):
• Studies, research and works on :
– Mineral exploration;
– Mineral resources:

Evolution of concepts in metallogeny;

Mineralization in their geodynamic settings;
• Mineral resources other than mining;
• Geoheritage: identification, assessment and saving;
• Natural hazards and infrastructure safety.
Geoscience of the information (C):
• Geoscientists documentation;
• Geoscientific Database;
• Geographic information system.
