Malin Hellkvist Sellén
Malin Hellkvist Sellén is one of Sweden’s most intriguing choreographers, with
pieces and projects for both adults and children on her resume. Often referring to
her work as physical reflections on a specific theme or topic, she alternates between
solo performances and larger group pieces. Her choreography is as clearly political
and philosophical as sensuous, physical and emotional. Hellkvist Sellén examines
choreography as a corporeal and linguistic practice. Pink promises is a solo for Marianne
Kjaserund, deriving from examinations of certain modes of social dancing and body
politics. In 2010 Hellkvist opened Within reasonable limits, a piece that emanated from
an open public call for non-professional and professional dancers. In November 2012 she
presented a new project, Ongoing, with long-time collaborator Minna Elif Wendin.
All productions are available for touring on request.

Memory Wax
Memory Wax is a dance and theatre company with a strong visual expression and
a naked theatrical movement language. Memory Wax was founded 2004 by Miguel
Azcue and Johanna Jonasson and has its base in Malmö, Sweden. Through simplicity
we experience and develop movement and ideas in a new perspective. Memory Wax’s
repertoire contains performances for children, youth and adults.
The piece Still Shivering twists and turns impertinent questions about our person. Still
Shivering is an absurd observation in a maze of emotions. A spectrum of human emotions
is reproduced and expressed through extreme or subtle changes in body and appearance.
The individual’s various personalities will be exposed between mask and reality and
our projections and prejudices will be challenged. When will the grotesque become
beautiful? Is the sad ever laughable? What do we see and perceive in a man?

Minna Krook Dans
Minna Krook Dans is a dance company that caters to both children and adults. The
company was established in 1999 and is run by the choreographer Minna Krook.
Based in Stockholm, the company tours frequently in Sweden and is well renowned and
highly appreciated throughout the country. The company has also made several guest
appearances abroad.
Minna Krook is one of the most well established choreographers of dance performances
for children. She has, among other things, created the first dance performance in Sweden
for babies, Oh, Hello Baby, with which the company received much positive attention.
Performed regularly since its premier in 2004, her performance All gone! has been
hailed by critics as “a classic”. The dance company’s productions are colorful, vibrant
and unpredictable, combining dance, text, visual arts and specially composed music. In a
subtle and humoristic manner, the performances point at the small, but vastly important
things in life.

moment:teater
Since the start 2000 moment:teater has been established as cutting edge of Swedish
culture, with the goal of spreading high quality art and open up for new perspectives.
Frida Strindberg – The Spider From Mars and the Cave of the Golden Calf is a play
where Frida Strindberg, the second wife of Swedish playwright August Strindberg, comes
back from the dead to tell her story. She meets David Bowie, with whom she is connected
not in time, but in space – at Heddon Street, London, where David Bowie posed for his
Ziggy Stardust album in 1972, and where Frida opened London’s first night club in 1912.
Frida herself was a complex figure, a female pioneer in the cultural field and a skilled
writer with a powerful language. Born in Austria, she lived and worked in Vienna,
Munich, Berlin, Paris, London, New York and Stockholm. The marriage with Strindberg
was short and intense.

New Tide Orquesta
New Tide Orquesta (formerly known as New Tango Orquesta) is a Swedish sextet playing
new music in the intersection of modern minimalism and nuevo tango. The band has
made a name for themselves worldwide through 16 years of touring and six released
albums. In a rock club in Moscow, a concert hall in Beijing, a jazz festival in Kiev or a
tango club in Buenos Aires. NTO always take the audience by storm and shows on and
on that genre is just a word. They are the constant outsider, and they love it! The album Bestiario was nominated for a Swedish Grammy award, and Vesper won
the “experimental of the year”-award at the Swedish Manifest gala. In 2010 they were
awarded “Group Of The Year” at the Swedish Folk- and World Music Gala. Their music
has been used in movies, theatre plays, dance performances and art installations.
NTO
has a big and loyal audience, and concerts with NTO always promise a touch of magic:
intense, concentrated, intimate and thrilling. The new album How To Climb A Mountain has just been released in Sweden and NTO

Niklas Barnö/Je Suis!
Finally the debut CD-release of the well acclaimed group led by Stockholm based trumpet
player Niklas Barnö: Je Suis! His music is honest and intense. Barnö was awarded the
Stockholm Jazzfest Prize in 2010. When he is not playing with Je Suis! you can hear him in
groups like SNUS (Ayler Records 2010), Kege Snö (Umlaut Records 2010) and Fredrik Norén
Band (Inside Up, Mirrors 2009).
Je Suis! (“I am!”) is on a continuous quest to search for the true answers of who You are. The
answers sound like bare naked jazz. An uncensored questioning slapped in your face. People
who experience Je Suis! are touched in one way or another, whether they end up wanting to
punch the band members in the face or shower them with hugs and kisses. The statement (“Je
Suis!”) ends up in a question: Who are You then?
Je suis! is: Niklas Barnö – trumpet; Mats Äleklint – trombon; Marcelo Gabard Pazos –
saxes; Alexander Zethson – piano; Joel Grip – bas; Magnus Vikberg – drums.

Nobody dansproduktion
Ann Lindberg graduated from the University of Dance and Circus in Stockholm 2005
and works as a choreographer. She is strongly dedicated to making people dance based
on each individual’s ability to move and express themselves.
In 2010 Lindberg & Anja Rühle, set/costume designer founded Nobody dansproduktion:
a dance company interested in creating and exploring situations that hinder the performer
and his natural impulse to be in control of action.
Their first dance performance Wannabe – so you think you can dance played in
Stockholm in 2011 received a lot of media coverage.
During 2012/2013 Nobody dansproduktion is playing their dance performance Hinder
– 6 shades of obstacles with an integrated dance ensemble. The performance is based
on the idea that (dis)ability is a social, cultural and political phenomenon. Nobody
dansproduktion has explored the topic of (dis)ability with three dancers and three
participants who have an impairment or diagnosis and who have the desire to dance.

Norrdans
Norrdans, based in Härnösand, presents high quality modern dance through the four
northernmost counties in Sweden. Since 1995 Norrdans has presented variety of works
by contemporary choreographers to audiences of all ages. With artistic director Mira
Helenius Martinsson, Norrdans continues to produce works by already established
heavyweights of modern choreography as well as searching for new, fresh talents and
possibilities of collaboration.
Doppelgänger by Forsberg/Nordberg (premier September 2012) tries to make ideas about
democracy and interaction visible and places itself in the space between reality and what is
performed. The dancers use choreography meant to surround and interact with six visitors
from the audience. These six participants are equipped with headphones and are given
instructions through them to create and participate in the common activities on stage.

Nylands Quartet
The Nylands Quartet is a group of four folk musicians who explore and combine musical
traditions from Sweden and the United States. The young musicians share a passion for
both tradition and the crossing of musical boundaries. Their fresh arrangements have
consistently moved and impressed audiences in Sweden and the group is ready to bring
its distinctive blend of styles to North America in 2013 and beyond.
While each of the four is a multi-instrumentalist, all are accomplished fiddlers with roots
in a wide range of regional styles of Swedish and American fiddle traditions, ancient and
modern. Together they create a sound with four fiddles that sings, drives, and bounces.
When they throw into the mix a cello, a banjo, or a Scandinavian mandola, their sound
spirals into unexplored territory that simply must be heard.

Olof Persson
Olof Persson, choreographer, dancer and visual artist works with moving images in
performances, installations and video. The project Me – every body, volume 1 consists
of nine sequences for the stage. It is a dissecting of movement in shape and time: Body.
Simple, and yet very complex. Everything we do, redefine and produce is occurring
directly or indirectly in relationship to the body. Our thoughts, motions, meetings and
life in general would not take place if we weren’t built after the present structure. Over a
long period of time nine different sequences have been created, extended and modified at
different locations in the world.
Me – every body is a collaboration initiated by Olof Persson, Dia Center for Arts, with:
Robin Rimbaud, Tate Modern, Helena Fredriksson, New York Fashion Week, Pierre
Proske, Ars Electronica Futurelab, Lina Räftegård, The Royal Theatre of Copenhagen,

Paloma Madrid
Dance Company
Paloma Madrid is a Stockholm based choreographer and dancer. She is currently working
with an ensemble of four dancers selected on their specific dance skills such as ballet,
flamenco and street dance. Her work is an exploration of the relationship between dance,
body, gender and movement as well as of the limits and the resistance of the dancer’s
body. Her work also investigates the possibilities of the mind to re-think what we as
individuals or as a society believe that choreography and dance are, can be and look like.
Dance For Apartment (D.F.A.), a concept invented by Paloma Madrid, is one of her
long-term projects. The main idea is a dance performance that you can borrow from the
library to your home, just like a book. The dance takes place throughout the apartment
and the borrower/borrowers become part of the work. D.F.A. adapts to each apartment
and is in constant development and transformation as Madrid’s and the dancer’s research
develops. The main question of D.F.A. is, who is the dancer?

Pantomimteatern
Pantomimteatern creates beautifully crafted shows which rise to the challenge of young
people’s imaginations. We believe that theatre for young people should have the same
high standards as theatre for adults and we’re committed to developing mime as an art
form.
In 2002 Pantomimteatern was awarded the Swedish Theatre Critics’ Association award
for the Best Children’s and Youth Theatre.
The stage adaption of Charlie Chaplin’s silent classic The Kid from 1921 allowed
Pantominteatern to make use of both classic and innovative theatrical techniques. In
creating the world of “Charlie” Pantominteatern uses mime, half-masks, an original
musical score, film projections and a set design full of imaginative solutions and props.
In 2011 The Kid received the price of the best mime play of the year at Stockholm Mime
festival.

Philippe Blanchard
Philippe Blanchard has created both independent and commissioned performances at the
forefront of Swedish contemporary dance for the past fifteen years, his works developing
into installation-like studies of human behavior and relationships. Suggesting rather than
telling, Blanchard’s finely layered pieces address the creative potential of each viewer
by making room for interpretation, uncertainty and wonder while consistently providing
subtle details to rely on.
His latest production How About You? focuses on the search for oneself in the other.
Performed by two identical twins, the piece unfolds as a journey through images of
intimacy, rejection, celebration, and loss.
The next creation – a new collaboration with the team behind How About You? – will
explore the subject of appearances and the elusive aspects of identity.
How About You? is touring throughout the 2013 season, while the new production is
expected to premiere in the autumn.

Pontus Lidberg Dance
“The human emotional experience is the focus of my work, rarely are my dances purely
abstract or intellectual. To create an emotional climate through an immersive aesthetic
whole is important for my creative process.” (Pontus Lidberg)
Hailed by the Swedish press early in his career as “one of our greatest choreographic
talents”, and with over 30 successful creations for institutions such as the Beijing Dance
Theatre, Le Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève, the Royal Danish Ballet in Copenhagen
and the Royal Swedish Ballet in Stockholm, he has now proved them right. Pontus
Lidberg works with a narrative form of dance theatre. He often involves contemporary
music and his collaborations with composer David Lang have been especially acclaimed.
Pontus Lidberg is also a prominent film director. In 2013 a major collaboration between
his own company Pontus Lidberg Dance and NorrlandsOperan will premiere his version
of Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring.

Poste Restante
Poste Restante makes interactive performances where the visitor’s individual experience
and active participation is the focal point. The works consists of honest yet unexpected
constructed activities, e.g. a daytime shelter for melancholic or an institution that
provides secular rooms for religious introspection.
In the pieces, visitors work personally with the performers to consider challenging life
questions and to face double moral standards. The activities aim to create acceptance
as opposed to solutions. Poste Restante’s pieces are made site- and situation specific,
approaching new contexts. There is no off and on stage, and every new space is selected
according to the demands of the constructed activity at hand.
Recent works include The Dinner Club at the Salzburger Festspiele and at the Zomer van
Antwerpen (2011), The Economy of Pleasure at MDT, Stockholm (2012), and Closing

Quarto
Quarto is a Swedish/Brazilian duo founded in 2003 by the director Leandro Zappala
and choreographer Anna Mesquita. They invest in a long-term research within
interdisciplinary art, deeply rooted in the interaction between theory and practice,
together with artists and researchers. Engaged in philosophical questions regarding
power relations and body, they seek to generate thought and subjectivity through a radical
experience of the body and imagery.
Their latest performance Beauty of accident challenges the following questions: What
happens to the body when dealing with a 500 m rope? How can movement originate from
the object? How to return to the object its subjectivity, once lost in order for it to become
an object and serve a logical use? How can the object be redefined? What is an object?
What type of forces do these bodies evoke? How can perception be provoked or affected
through the manipulation of the object? Will premiere 2013 at Inkonst in Malmö,
Sweden. Available for touring.

Rani Nair
What does it mean to inherit a dance? German choreographer Kurt Jooss made his last
piece Dixit Dominus in 1975 as a gift for Swedish-based Indian dancer Lilavati Häger,
who gave it to Rani Nair. After performing the reconstructed piece at Hanoi Opera House
and the Centre National de Danse in Paris in 2005–06, Nair returns to this work again
in Future Memory.
In both white-box and black-box iterations, Future Memory is a performance about the
economy of the gift, and the very personal terms of legacy and its responsibilities. At its
heart is the question of relationships between individual people, imagined dialogues,
dance styles, and times – and the solo performer who acts as mediator.

These media rarely ask the question “What if what I show here would be real?”
This addresses not only what is a robot, high technology and so on in a society where
everything’s copied and simulated a thousand times and where it becomes increasingly
difficult to distinct reality from fiction, but it also addresses the implications on
individuality and freedom in our daily – and theatrical – realities.

accomplished performer of lyrical jazz with indie-pop sensibilities.” All About Jazz
Vocalist/Composer Sarah Riedel has received much attention over tha last couple of years
for her personal compositional style and delicate, intimate vocal delivery. Sarah’s singing
is lyrical and she handles text with a minute care for detail. When Sarah sings, there are
no barriers between music, lyrics and the audience.
Sarah leads and writes for several bands among which Sarah Riedel Timeline can be
heard in New York during the APAP Conference in January 2013. In this band Sarah
brings together a string quartet and a jazz trio to form a sound that is warm – at once
youthful and timeless. Audience and critics have given her unified praise and the

Sebastian Lingserius
Sebastian Lingserius is a young upcoming choreographer based in Stockholm, known for
his sincere interest in linking philosophical concepts and bodily practices. He finished
an MA in choreography at the University College of Dance in Stockholm in 2010.
The piece alt. org, created in 2011 at MDT in Stockholm, presents a set of practices
that all attempt to re-imagine bodily construction. It’s a dance towards the inorganic.
It’s a place where decomposed bodies collide and new bodily organizations occur. The
audience walks around in a gallery space surrounded by hanging illustrations. A slow
transformation to a performance space, where bodies can practice, dance, and give
examples.
The press: “a philosophical work which cleverly twists the concept of evolution and the

Shake it Collaborations
Shake it Collaborations is an artist driven constellation dedicated to acting, dancing,

Roses & Beans – a performance about the private, the political and the pop aspects of
love. The performers invite you to a private party in an empty living room with twinkling
eyes, sharp elbows and soft hearts. Together we share a very special moment and a
sweetened cake of romance. Can we produce other stories, since we don’t want to live the
ones we heard before?
The performance has been touring internationally since the premiere in June 2010. It is
an easy set up in foyers, galleries, classrooms, conference halls, museums, livening rooms

just at one target: a constant, irresistible groove!
Simone Moreno came to Sweden in 2001 from Salvador, after four albums in Brazil,
where she is a well-known singer: in Rio where she sung the samba and in Bahia, where
she was a famed afro pop queen in the beginning of her career. She has performed in

Sirqus Alfon
Sirqus Alfon is a bustling and joyous feast for the senses and a musical phenomenon in
the disguise of a cover band. Years of experimenting have taken Sirqus Alfon to a unique
position in participatory performance using modern technology and visual effects. Sirqus
Alfon won the Audience Prize at the Berlin Lacht International Street Festival, they took
the Edinburgh Fringe Festival by storm with 21 shows, full houses and rave reviews and
they have performed all over the world with their interactive and humorous shows.
Sirqus Alfon is the story of a band that started out on the streets and ended up on the big
stages. Utilizing their eccentric personalities as a starting point for drama and physical
tension, these performers weave an infectious spell of unbridled insanity into the crowd.
60 minutes of overcharged and chaotic adventure with technical solutions that you have
never seen on the stage before makes Sirqus Alfon a unique experience. Nobody can sit
still and nobody can be unaffected by their tremendous love for the audience.

Stockholm Bach Society
Stockholm Bach Society was formed in 2009 by baroque violinist Katarina Bengtson
Dennis, to perform the music of J S Bach and his contemporaries. The latest addition to
our repertoire is a highly acclaimed version of Henry Purcell’s 17th-century opera Dido
& Aeneas, which we are now able to offer in two different formats.
1. During a weekend, Stockholm Bach Society will invite your choral society and/or
orchestra to participate in our semi-staged performance of Dido & Aeneas. We coach you
in historically informed interpretation, singing and choreography, and provide insights
into the life and music of Purcell.
2. We perform Dido & Aeneas in an intimate chamber format. 10 singers and players
create a painfully beautiful and multilayered opera that will touch everyone who’s ever
doubted love.
Katarina Bengtson Dennis performs regularly throughout Europe, with groups and
conductors such as the Academy of Ancient Music, The Sixteen, Harry Christophers and
Laurence Cummings. Janna Vettergren (Dido) is a mezzo-soprano, choral director and
voice coach and has extensive experience of both early and contemporary opera, working
with conductors such as Olof Boman and Emilio Pomarico.

take care of stones he finds. Some are big and some are small. One is sad and another one
feels cold. Every stone that gets to follow Aston home is greeted with a warm and cozy bed.
This story is about the ability to see and to appreciate the value in small thing. It’s about
love and empathy, there are no obstacles. For children, 3–6 years.
In 2012 the artistic director Peter Engkvist and the actors in Aston’s stones led a workshop

Teatr Weimar
Teatr Weimar is a performing arts collective in Sweden who explore the boundaries and
expressions of contemporary performing art. Teatr Weimar always deals with language,
power and identity in their artistic work. Since 2007 they have toured Sweden and
Europe with their critically acclaimed performances.
In Hamlet II: exit ghost (2010), the stage has turned into a TV studio, a laboratory in
which the actors take apart Shakespeare’s words and characters. A meditation on identity,
the weight of the past and death. Hamlet II: exit ghost is evocative of Scandinavian film
and television series as much as the legendary productions of this classic among classics.
Shakespeare meets Bergman meets The Killing. A Language at War (2011) takes the
philosophy of language as departure to investigate how communication works.
Next year their new production will premiere in Malmö. Arrival cities: killed by death
(2013) deals with migration in the shadow of the economic crises.

Valerie Solanas´ SCUM Manifesto is one of the history of literature’s most powerful texts.
It is world famous, infamous and yet unknown. It is hated and loved, often without even
having been read. For Turteatern it is something they cannot escape. It is a confrontation,
heavy exaggerations, crystal clear truths, feverish utopias, deep insights, parody, love
and rebellion. It allows itself to be high and low, possible and impossible. The SCUM

Unga Klara
Unga Klara was founded in 1975 by Suzanne Osten, artistic director, with a focus on
the conditions of children and young people. Unga Klara’s explorations of dramatic art
proceed from the assumption that a young audience is naturally entitled to the same high
level of artistic quality as an adult audience. Based on the conviction that we can best
express a positive outlook on life by speaking truthfully about its complexity, Unga Klara
has tackled serious topics in a playful form.
