TEAM SAFSA (MINDEF) WINS NAIL BITING FINALS
TEAM SAFSA, competing as MINDEF in the Public Service Badminton Championships 2012
conducted throughout Feb/Mar 2012 at the CSC Tessensohn Clubhouse emerged overall Champions
for a record 11th time edging out MOE. The teachers being the long-time rival of ours had previously
beaten us on two occasions and we were joint champions on five other occasions.
Victory was therefore undeniably sweet on the night where the result of the championship
went down to the wire after our Men Open team lost to MOE (0-3). It was then up to our Men
Seniors and Active Agers teams to anchor our charge towards the championship title.
Not wanting to disappoint their supporters (made up of the ladies team players, wives and
colleagues), our Men Seniors and Active Agers triumphed over MOE (2-1) and HDB (2-1) respectively
and successfully defended the overall championship for yet another year. It was really “A NIGHT
BELONGING TO THE OLD GUARDS!”
Our sincere gratitude to all the Commanders of the players who had understandingly
supported the players in their training and competitions.
