With over 25 years of industry experience, Brian Bode has immersed
himself in the world of hair, art and fashion, cultivating a true mastery
of the elements of style.
Brian began his career in hair design at the age of 18, learning his
craft as apprentice to industry icon Geri Cusenza. His family, creators
of the international hair product company Sebastian International,
provided his initial inspiration and taught him the nuances of the
industry. Brian then travelled for ten years as an international
platform artist for Sebastian, Joico, Icon and Fudge before settling in
Monterey, California.

In 1997, Brian founded Oya Salon as an extension of his industry
experience, passion for education and desire to contribute to the
betterment of his community. The salon quickly garnered local and
national accolades and has continued to attain recognition throughout
the country. Oya consistently offers the highest level of customer
service for its valued clients and in an effort to stay in tune with the latest
industry trends and styles, Oya provides continuing education for all its
professional hair designers.
Brian’s ongoing commitment and vision at Oya extends to his community.
He and his team continue to give back through numerous charitable
contributions and through their annual Eve of Hope & Day of Healing
events. To date, they have raised tens of thousands of dollars toward the
financial and educational support of women with breast cancer.

of interest to stylists everywhere.
