1995
Emme Italia is born
In 1995 Maurizio founded Emme Italia to
produce elevation and inclination systems
for drafting tables. The first HQ is a small
300 m2 warehouse with a very small
office. Emme Italia is more a lab than an
industry.
The Team
In 1995 the team was made of 3 people: Maurizio Barison,
the founder, Angelo and Carlo. In 2008/2009 the team is
made of 7 people: Maurizio Barison, the founder, Paola,
his wife (Account), Alessandro, his son (Design and
Quality), Samia (Customer care), Carlo (made to measure
production), Andrea (drafting equipment production) and
Fabio (assembling and packaging).

2001
A new HQ
In 2001 Emme Italia has a new HQ of
1000 m2 of warehouse and 100 m2
of open space office department. The
new HQ is in a old 60’s building made
of red bricks.
Since the beginning, Emme Italia is more a family than a
Company. In the company still working all Barison family,
Maurizio, Paola and Alessandro. We have not really
a meeting room. When we need to discuss important
decisions, or a new project is going to start, our meeting
room is a big table with pizza margherita at our friend
restaurant Giordano’s Pizza. Also Giordano is involved
in the discussion, like old retired people of the company
and other friends and consultats. But all decisions are
made in front a Naples and Amalfi specialty on Giordano’s
tables.

2004
2006
Starting from 2004, Emme Italia quality system is
certified UNI ISO9001/2000 for manufactoring and
supply of furnishing for offices and equipment for
technical drawing.
Maurizio, before Emme Italia adventure, in the 80’s was
bieffe and bieffeplast prototypes developer and worked
with best worldwide designers like Sottsass, DeLucchi, Ib
Rasmussen, Matteo Thun, Citterio. In the early 90’s was
Zucor Tecnigrafi Chief Technical officer. In 1995 founded
Emme Italia to produce elevation and inclination systems
for drafting tables. Alessandro started to work for Emme
Italia in 1997. From 2006 to 2009 studied creative design
at SID Institute of Padua, following design projects for
international companies like Whirlpool, Aprilia motorbikes,
DeLonghi Home Appliances. In 2006 and 2008 some
design prototypes for artshop and bookshop were part
of DAB Design exhibitions in Modena and Rome.

Tradition and Innovation
A certified organization
In 2006 an important step is done: the planchest
M200EXP is born. The world is full of metal furniture,
metal filing cabinets and metal chests of drawers. But
our customers are not like the others, our costumer
wants to file in a planchest that have to be in important
public spaces, like Triennale Archive in Milano, La
Fenice Theatre Archive in Venice, Larry Gagosian
Gallery in Rome, Royal Dutch Army Cartographic
Archive in Ede.
The philosophy of Emme Italia is to have traditional
products with innovation. Innovation is technology,
innovation is flexibility, innovation is made to meausre
solutions, innovation is customer care, innovation is
design. Simple but limited edition projects, timeless
furniture where each single piece keeps its uniqueness
through handmade details skilfully combined with the
industrial process.

is one of the reasons why it’s so easy to find us. Our

Results
2009
Two steps forward: Emmesystem
In 2009 Alessandro graduate in creative design at
SID Institute in Padova. Emme Italia is ready for the
last driving change throught design: the new brand
Emmesystem is born. A new line of products, the best
selection of Emme Italia’s technology and philosophy.
Metal furniture dedicated to creative people, museum,
artshop, bookshop, coffee shop. The new line of
products is immediately a best seller with important
international customers like Vatican Museums in
Rome, Jewish Museum in Rome and Giorgio Armani
Company in Milan.
We started in 1995 with elevation and inclination systems
for drafting tables. In 2009, thanks to a continuous
research, Emme Italia with his new brand Emmesystem
is one of the best european producer of made to measure
planchest filing for museums and special furniture for
bookshop.
Future Strategy
Our goal is to go on with simple but open minded projects,
involving as many people is possible in our ideas, old
and young, professionals and not.
