changed the format and layout and added new things,

We’ve added some new headings and drop-down boxes to make it easier to

Health Care Reform and the Affordable Care Act
Wisconsin Association of health Underwriters along with the Clintonville
Chamber of Commerce, Waupaca Chamber of Commerce, and others are
sponsoring U.S. Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson and Rep. Kevin Petersen on
Tuesday, April 15, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Waupaca Ale House & Conference
Center. Topic will be Health care reform and the ACA. Now what? How is the
ACA affecting employers and consumers?
Learn about the impact of choices that have been made; what issues related to the ACA are on the horizon; what ongoing efforts are underway to reduce taxes so Wisconsin and US can better compete internationally an how
the value of competition and the marketplace is a driver for cost and quality.

Navarino Nature Center Trail Fun Run/
Walk & Earth Day Open House
Navarino Nature Center will be having the
annual Navarino Trail Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, April 26. There will be a 10K run, a 5K
Run/Walk, and a 1 mile kids fun run. This
event will be professionally timed by
“Tortoise & Hare Race Management”. Cost for
the 10K run is $40 before April 10, and $45
after April 10. Cost for the 5K Run is $30 before April 10 and $35 after April 10. Cost for
5K Walk is $20 before April 10 and $25 after
April 10. Cost for the 1 mile kids run is $10.
Early registration is encouraged, however you
may stil l register Saturday morning from 78:30 a.m. The 10K and 5K start at 9 a.m. and
kids run at 10:30 a.m. Register at active.com

All participants registered before April 10
will be guaranteed a sports performance tshirt. Unique acorn medallions will be awarded to the top three men and women in each
age group. Medallions will only be awarded to
10K and 5K runners.
Following the Fun Run, from 11 a.m. to 2
p.m. will be the annual Earth day Open
House. This includes family oriented activities
such as pond study, wild flower walk, nature
crafts, face-painting, bird house building, nature exhibits and food.
This event helps to serve as a fundraiser for
the Navarino Nature Center. Event proceeds
will support educational programs for local
elementary and middle schools at the nature
center.

Shredfest Week
Fox Communities Credit Union is taking proactive
steps to fight identity theft by inviting you to shred
documents at any of their locations from April 7
through April 12. This is a safe way to destroy all unwanted tax returns, credit card information, utility
bills, statements and anything that has information
you wouldn’t want someone else to find.
There will be locked bins in all of the locations for
you to deposit your personal papers to be destroyed.
They ask that participates only bring in two grocery
bags of paper to the branches during the week.
On Saturday, April 12, here will be a truck at the
Clintonville location to destroy personal papers, onsite, especially for those that are bringing in large
amounts (up to 10 grocery bags) to be shredded.
Shredfest is free and open to the public. I f you have
questions, contact Kristin Cates at 920-993-3792.
Public Library Schedules Events
Retirement Planning and Savings will be presented
at the Clintonville Public Library on Thursday, April
10, 6 p.m. in the Library Meeting room. The UWExtension Waupaca County Family Living Educator
Sandy Liang will present a session on how best to plan
and save for your retirement.
Become a Better Photographer with Tim Sweet will
be held on April 22, 29, May 6 and 13, 6:30 p.m. at the
Library.
Do you enjoy digital photography? Would you like to
learn some tips and techniques that could help you to
become an even better photographer?
Registration is required to join the class and can be
done at the Library or by phone at 715-823-4563. Registration ends on Tuesday, April 15.

St. Rose & St. Mary’s Spaghetti Dinner
St. Rose and St. Mary’s School will hold their Spaghetti
Dinner this Saturday, April 5, 4-7 p.m. at Northwinds Banquet Hall, Marion.
Dinner tickets are $7 in advance and $8 at the door. Children are $4 and 4 and under are free. The tickets are
available by calling St. Rose School at 715-823-4360.
The evening consists of DJ and talent show, silent auction, theme raffle baskets and raffle prizes. First prize is a
John Deere Riding lawnmower; second prize, Propel Malibu
Moped; third prize, iPad Mini and four prize is $200 gas
card.
St. Rose and St. Mary’s Parishes will present Frank
Runyeon, a soap opera star turned Biblical witness.
Shows will be Monday, April 7, 6:30 p.m., “Sermon on
the Mount”; Tuesday, April 8, 7 p.m., “Afraid! The Gospel
of Mark”; and Wednesday, April 9, 6:30 p.m., “Hollywood
vs. Faith”.
All performances will be at St. Rose, 24 7th St.
Both events are open to the public.

The recent Business Connection at D. Mitchell Interiors was a success with several Chamber members
and their families attending to tour the facilities and a chance to meet with the family. Grand prize of a

UW Varsity Band Rescheduled
The University of Wisconsin Varsity Band performance has been
rescheduled for Friday, April 11, 7 p.m. at the Clintonville High
School Fieldhouse due to the fact that they have reached the Final Four! GO BADGERS! The event is being hosted by the Clintonville Lions and Rotary Clubs.
Tickets are available at the Chamber of Commerce office, 9
a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday and at B&H Fashionwear,
Mon.-Wed. and Sat., 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and Thursday and Friday, 9
a.m. to 7 p.m. You may also purchase tickets online at http://

Christ Congregational UCC and the Clintonville United Methodist Church will be focusing on the spiritual discipline of service to others. Community service projects will be offered
through April 12. All community members are welcome. Projects being considered include repairing picnic tables for Greentree health & Rehab, preparing
“thank you” cookie packages for the police/fire department personnel and nursing home staff, visitation with residents, preparing bedding for the animal shelter, and other acts of service. There will be opportunities for people of al ages

Lorraine Steffens Named farm Woman of the Year
Results Broadcasting’s Family of Radio Stations announced
that Lorraine Steffens, Black Creek, was the recipient of the
30th Annual Farm Woman of
the Year at a luncheon held
recently in Seymour.
Results Broadcasting’s
four local radio stations
gave their listeners an opportunity to nominate area
farm women who they
thought would be most deserving of the award.
Steffens was nominated
by her daughter. Steffens
operates their dairy farm
along with her two sons after the passing of her husband in
2004. They raise and milk 65 dairy cost along with young
stock. She has five children: Joseph Jr., Steve, Tim, Dan and
Vicky. They farm over 560 acres.
