Reason for Optimism for LIFE
Following South Dakota's enactment
of the most pro-life law in America,
Roe v. Wade may well be revisited in
the not too distant future
As a result, USA Today recently published an article (based largely on data
from the pro-abortion group, the Alan
Guttmacher Institute) which predicts
what would be likely to happen if Roe
v. Wade were overturned and abortion became a state-by-state issue
again.
The results are quite surprising and
positive for LIFE. Only 16 states are
likely to continue abortion on demand
---any time, any place, for any reason--if Roe v Wade were overturned.
This would include seven states on
the West Coast and almost every state
in the Northeast, but only a third of
the U.S population.

By contrast, at least 22 states containing half of all Americans would almost definitely enact either complete
or near-complete abortion bans, recognizing that the unborn child is a
person, deserving of basic human
rights like the rest of us.
This is very encouraging and underlines the importance of using our influence to enact laws like the Unborn
Child Amendment in South Dakota.
Please, remember
to pray the Rosary
for an end to abortion.

TRADICIONES DE NUESTRA FE
Hoy celebramos la Pascua de Pentecostés. Esta es una de las tres Pascuas
que celebramos los cristianos. Las
otras dos son la Pascua de Resurrección (o Pascua Florida) y la Pascua
del Nacimiento de Jesús. Estas tres
solemnidades cristianas celebran tres
momentos claves en el plan de
salvación: la Encarnación del Verbo
Divino (Jesús), su Pasión, Muerte y
Resurrección y el descenso de su Espíritu Santo sobre la Iglesia. Pascua
viene siendo el nombre de la principal solemnidad del calendario Judío
y recuerda la liberación del pueblo de
Israel de la esclavitud. Los cristianos
hemos tomado ese nombre por
reconocernos como descendientes de
Abraham y porque en nuestras tres
pascuas celebramos que Jesús viene a
salvarnos, o sea, a liberarnos del pecado y sus consecuencias tanto personales como sociales. En muchas
partes el titulo de Pascua se ha dejado para hablar de la fiesta de la Navidad y la fiesta de Pentecostés. Esto es
una lástima ya que el recordar la Pascua debe impulsar al cristiano a obrar
por la liberación de todos para que el
mundo se salve por Jesucristo.

LA PLENITUD DEL ESPÍRITU SANTO
La Iglesia se despierta esta mañana
con un asombroso mensaje. Mira a
tu alrededor a ver quién ha sido
llamado. Escucha las voces de los
que proclaman que Jesús es el Señor.
Encontrarás que ningún pueblo ni
raza ha sido excluido; ningún idioma
del mundo es incapaz de proclamar
la gloria de Dios. Decimos que el
Domingo de Pentecostés es el
"cumpleaños de la Iglesia". En diversas maneras, la Iglesia todavía está
naciendo. Sólo cuando todos conozcan la paz que Jesús ofrece en el
Goldsboro, N. C.
Evangelio de hoy es que de veras conoceremos la plenitud del Espíritu Santo.
San Pablo nos asegura en la segunda
lectura de hoy que "a todos se nos ha
dado a beber del mismo Espíritu". Cuando pasamos nuestra mirada por la
Iglesia, deberíamos de ver a todos.
Pero no es así. Todavía no, ¿qué barrera nos impide abrazarnos en un solo
Cuerpo de Cristo? ¿Cuándo vamos a
reconocer que nuestras diferencias son
manifestaciones de un mismo Espíritu
Santo?

Año Jubilar de la Misericordia

Solemnidad de Pentecostés
Al anunciar el Año Jubilar de la Misericordia el Papa Francisco nos desafía a
proclamar la misericordia de Dios "a
todos, sin excluir ninguno . . . una vez
más con nuevo entusiasmo y con una
renovada acción pastoral" Misericordiae Vultus, 12). Pentecostés proclama
que la puerta cerrada por cincuenta
días finalmente se abre. No más encierro en sí misma, la comunidad habla
a las multitudes con diferentes
orígenes, de tierras lejanas, exóticos
lugares. Cada uno los escucha en sus
leguas nativas. El Espíritu no restaura
la uniformidad de Babel, pero fragua la
unidad en la diversidad del idioma, de
la raza, de la nacionalidad, incluyendo
a todos sin excepción. Durante este
Año Jubilar de la Misericordia, el Espíritu de Pentecostés nos convoca de
nuevo desde la mediocridad y la soledad para compartir la misericordia de
Dios con el mundo. "¡Esta es nuestra
misión!" lo dice el Papa Francisco. "Se
nos dio el don del 'idioma' del Evangelio y el 'fuego' del Espíritu Santo,
para proclamar a Jesús resucitado, vivo y presente en medio de nosotros y
para alentar los corazones de las personas, acercándolas a Jesús, el
Camino, la Verdad y la Vida" (Rezo

Razón para el Optimismo por la Vida
Siguiendo la promulgación de Sur Dakota de la ley mas pro-vida en América, el
caso Roe versus Wade bien puede ser revisado en un futuro no muy distante.
Como resultado, el USA Today recientemente publicó un artículo (ampliamente
basado en la data de el grupo por-aborto, el Instituto Alan Guttmacher) en el
cual se predice lo que pasaría si el caso Roe versus Wade fuese revocado y el
aborto se convirtiera en un problema estado por estado otra vez.
Los resultados son bastante sorpresivos y positivos para la VIDA. Solamente 16
estados parecen continuar con demanda de abortos – cualquier momento, cualquier lugar, por cualquier razón – si el caso Roe versus Wade fuese revocado.
Esto incluiría siete estados de la costa oeste y casi todos los estados en el noreste,
pero solo una tercera parte de la población de Estados Unidos.
