Elmo's Gold Lion is a network-based, multi-axis machine motion
controller that operates in conjunction with Elmo’s ExtrIQ servo drives, as
well as the Gold Line of intelligent servo drives, to provide a comprehensive
and efficient motion control solution for the entire system. See the
system diagram later in this catalog for how the Gold Lion and Elmo's
servo drives can be integrated in a complete motion control system.

The Gold Lion is based on the most advanced, easy to use and cost effective distributed motion control architecture which enables the motion
processing tasks to be shared. It contains a rich feature set that combines sophisticated motion control and advanced communications with
full programming capabilities. The Gold Lion uses standard protocols over its various communications channels (Ethernet, EtherCAT, CAN
and USB), combined with IEC and C programming, and the PLCopen motion interface.

Elmo Motion Control’s Gold ExtrIQ Line of PCB-mounted digital servo drives enables you to develop motion control solutions that
offer outstanding performance with military grade ratings.
As with all Elmo Motion Control servo drives, the Gold ExtrIQ Line offers very high power density in compact, lightweight packages.
For example, the Gold Panther supports up to 7 kW of continuous power and up to 700 VDC.
The Gold ExtrIQ Line supports the standard implementation of the new EtherCAT communications protocol, which shortens the
development process and allows for interoperability with other motion control systems.
Our ruggedized motion control solutions are compliant with all the leading military specifications and industry standards. This gives
you the confidence that your application will operate in extreme conditions, with the high dependability required in unpredictable
battlefield situations.

The diagram below shows how Elmo’s motion control solutions can be assembled into a complex motion control system with up to
100 axes. The devices can be programmed using Elmo’s Application Studio (EAS) or other systems, which connect to the Gold Lion
network controller over Ethernet.
The Gold Lion can control a wide variety of networked digital servo drives using standard protocols such as EtherCAT and CANopen.
This provides utmost flexibility and interoperability.
