“firsts” that we have realized.
The most significant “first” that
took place in the second half of
2013 is the “Maiden Flight” of our
“Basic Trainer Aircraft HÜRKUŞ”,
realized on August 29, 2013. You
will have a chance to read about
the first flight and latest
developments of HÜRKUŞ in the
following pages.
“New Year” means “New
Horizons” for Turkey’s center of
aerospace TAI that exceeds the
boundaries with its indigenous
products and modernizationmodification programs.
While our journey continues in
new horizons, we would like to
take this opportunity to thank
everyone that helped us to come
this far and wish all of you the
best in 2014.
EDITORIAL BOARD
From the Management
Distinguished Readers and
Members of TAI,
As I have mentioned in our 94th
issue, we are carrying out studies
for an initial public offering (IPO). It
is our intention that by offering
some of our shares to public, we hope
that our success will be jointly shared by our donators as
well as our employees as they will be co-owners of our
company.
Following the restructuring process that started in
2005 and with the contracts undertaken after 2005, I
can state that TAI has moved up to the “Prime
Contractor” status from the “Subcontractor” status
which I define as “First Step Period.” TAI is now a worldwide
“Main System Supplier” not only with the financial results,
exports and employment volume; but also with its
indigenous products.
Our new slogan with my esteemed team for the new
period will be “To Accomplish the Second Step.” Here is
what we should do to achieve this goal:
• We will continue challenging development projects with
our experienced personnel,
• We will deliver these products
to national and international
customers on time and provide life
cycle support,
• We will continue to increase
our international partnerships and
export activities in aerostructure
programs,
• We will become a more transparent, systematic world
brand that is also considering mergers and acquisitions
with other companies outside Turkey.
By achieving the above goals, we will continue our
journey in peace for having done our duties for the 100th
Anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of Turkey. I
believe that we will keep our promise as TAI family and
continue to work with high ambition. I offer my gratitude to
all of you for your contributions.
I would also like to take this opportunity to wish you a
successful and a happy new year with your loved ones.
Kind Regards,
Muharrem DÖRTKAŞLI
President & CEO
