ENHANCED ZIO® PATCH REPORT
Continuous Improvement for Truth and Transparency
New enhancements to the ZIO Patch Report by iRhythm™ include:
•T
he ability to record and measure True AF Duration™ — the documented and validated length of
an episode of atrial fibrillation
•A
new front page design that provides additional insights plus a clear and concise overview to
help you manage clinical decision-making
True AF Duration:
An Essential Component of Arrhythmia Diagnosis and Management
True AF Duration can help answer many of the management
questions confronting a clinician evaluating an AF patient:
• The need for rate control or rhythm control
• The decision to use anti-coagulants
• Gauging the risk of stroke or thromboembolic event
• The need for other interventions
THE PROBLEM
When one long episode of AF is reported as multiple short
ones due to the presence of artifact or noise:
•T
he AF episode count number is erroneously presented
•T
he duration of the AF episode is therefore inaccurate
THE SOLUTION TO ACHIEVE TRUE AF DURATION
iRhythm has introduced Intelligent Bridging™, which allows artifact-interrupted segments of an AF
episode to be “bridged” and timed as a single episode. The precision of iRhythm’s beat-to-beat analysis is
combined with Intelligent Bridging for True AF Duration reporting. Only iRhythm can create this synergy
between our unique algorithm and quality assurance performed by our Certified Clinical Technicians
(CCTs) to bring you this strength in reporting.
AF Duration reporting can give you a more accurate picture of AF and the confidence that
you have selected the best ambulatory monitoring tool for the clinical management of
your patient.

C
an all your ambulatory cardiac monitors reliably meet or exceed gold
standard criteria for AF measuring and reporting?
» 30-second AF episodes or longer according to the AHA/ACC/HRS1 guidelines.
»D
evice patients, with no history of AF but with AF episodes of ≥ six minutes, were associated
with a 2.5 fold increase in the risk of stroke (ASSERT2).
» In a recent presentation at the 2016 Heart Rhythm Society annual meeting, by Allan Go,
MD, true atrial fibrillation burden was an important predictor of stroke risk and other arterial
thromboembolism3.
iRhythm’s enhanced ZIO Patch Report provides complete AF Duration statistics.
NOW ENHANCED TO INCLUDE TRUE AF DURATION
1. Episodes of ≥ 30 seconds
2. Number of episodes with duration of ≥ 6 minutes
3. Episodes broken down by relevant duration periods
4. N
umber of episodes in each duration period and their
average duration
5. Addition of strips showing the two longest AF episodes

ZIO Patch Report: Enhanced Front Page Summary
Because you need answers — all the most relevant information conveniently presented
The ZIO Patch Report front page now combines additional insights with a clear and concise overview
to help you manage clinical decision-making for your patient:
8. Streamlined arrhythmia summaries right next to the strips
9. Display of heart rate in sinus rhythm
10. Indication of ‘Patient Triggered’ events moved to a more prominent location
11. Inclusion of AF Duration in the Preliminary Findings
12. Enhanced design for Patient Event and Ectopy sections

True AF Duration combined with True AF Burden provides a
comprehensive approach towards AF detection and management.
“Quantifying an individual patient’s AF burden as well as the frequency and duration
of AF episodes is essential for us to provide tailored, maximally beneficial therapy.
As a provider, I rely on the enhanced ZIO Reports, which provide concise, clearly
presented data, enabling me to manage my patients more effectively.”
