all about hue
“Colour is conquering the tyranny of taupe,” laughs Rita Theil,
who owns JacKryn France with hubby Robert MacKenzie.
Named after their kids, Jack and Kathryn, the shop is stacked
with deliciously saturated colour in the form of Vent du Sud, Tissage Moutet and Yves Delorme Paris linens, French tableware,
opulent 18th- and 19th-century European antiques, and more.
french connection
Rita and her family escape regularly to their 300-year-old stone
farmhouse in southwest France. Not so lucky yourself? Take a
mini-European holiday at JacKryn France (located in a restored
house) and scoop up Provençal table linens, from $79; frilled
tuxedo pillows, from $39; or English design-ista Cath Kidston’s
toss cushions, from $45, or her shopping bags, from $40. And, of
course, you could always splurge on an Italian neoclassical
hand-carved buffet in dramatic dark oak, $15,500.

beautifully wrapped,” says Rita. Staff tie handsome, heavyweight boxes (designed by Rita) with organza ribbon and faux
