1 1 Boundary is the latest addition to the ev er
growing list of new boutique stores in
Shoreditch. Fou nder Debra Winstanley ,

Robert Mapplethorpe: Night work curated by the Scissor Sisters
Robert Mapplethorpe w as an av antgarde Am erican artist w hose work explored
ideas of desire, transgression and identity . His
influ ence ov er the art and cultu re w orld has
continued since his untim ely death in 1 9 89,
and now pop band Scissor Sisters are curating
an exhibition in his honour, exhibiting
Mapplethorpe's original photography and
scu lptu re works alongside a host of the m ost

Photographer Bill Hale spent the best part of
his career on the road and w as m ost fam ou sly
one of the only photographers w ho got cau ght
up in the Californian m etal scene in the late
7 0s. His u niqu e access to the inner-sanctu m of
one band in particu lar - Metallica (he was a
frequ ent guest at the “Metali-Mansion’)
resu lted in som e of the m ost candid shots of
the band and the m etal lifesty le ev er taken.
This exhibition focuses on a tw o-y ear period
betw een 1 982 -84 w hen m etal w as just abou t
to tip ov er into the m ainstream ; captu ring
Metallica in all their v ary ing states of excess,
