Blue Notes Week of October 26, 2015
Jacobs School Blue Notes
Notes for the week of October 26, 2015
A Note from the Principal
The fifth grade had a wonderful local field trip on
Wednesday, October 21st. The students visited Hull Wind
2 for an up-close look at the wind turbine, as well as the
beautiful view. They also visited the Estuary Center to
explore and discuss leaves, acorns, and nuts. With the
help of the Hull Police Department, the classes crossed
George Washington Boulevard for a hike through the
Weir River Woods. Our tour guides helped them locate a
variety of leaves, discuss who eats what, and see five
different kinds of ecosystems. Thank you to Judeth Van
Hamm and her band of volunteers who provided such an
enriching experience for our students. It was truly a great
day for everyone!

Preparations for The 7th annual Turkey
Trot are in full swing and the anticipation
has never been greater. Mr. Green and
the 4th and 5th grade Physical Education
classes have been working diligently,
practicing the famous Turkey Trot start as
well as practicing running greater and
greater distances. The intent, as always, is
to have each individual student learn what
their own running pace will be on the fun
filled day before Thanksgiving. All students
are encouraged to continue their own
running regimen at home in a safe area
that has been checked by their
parents/guardians.
Students on Bus F won
last week’s Golden Bus
Award for being the
most respectful bus.
Great job boys and girls!

clothing & Barrett’s will get you ready to haunt!
Email Jen Olivieri at [email protected] if you can

Gratitude & Mindfulness Experience for Parents Workshop has been rescheduled to
Monday, November 9th 7 p.m. at the Hull Family Network, Rm C101. This unique program is
for parents of children of all ages who would like to learn how to incorporate mindfulness
techniques into their daily life. Mindfulness helps children cope with stress and anxiety,
enhances concentration and communication, as well as compassion and more. If your child
participated in the programs at Hullistic Health this summer this is a wonderful
opportunity to hear how you can support your child’s continued practice. Debbie Lyn
Toomey will have you both learning and doing activities to share with your children. Preregistration is requested and a minimum number of participants is required by November
5th in order for us to host this workshop, so register now.
