The first annual Belin Film Festival is designed to allow emerging and independent
filmmakers to showcase their movies to a live audience for critical review, allowing the public
to screen a variety of unique, original films written, produced and directed by independent
and emerging filmmakers from around the world as well as this corner of Northeast
Pennsylvania. Please visit the website belinfestival.com for more information on
submitting a film, joining the BFF Challenge, sponsorship oppportunities and more.

ON THE COVER: The ComnKids After
School Program is now accepting
registrations for Fall. The program
provides children with a safe, supervised
and structured environment in which they
do homework, interact socially with other
children, play indoor games and have
outdoor recreation time. The program is
open to students in Kindergarten through
Sixth Grade as well as children who are
home-schooled.
Two sessions are offered — the
traditional After School Program (from
2:30 to 6:00 p.m.) and a Morning
Kindergarten Program (11:30 a.m. to
2:30 p.m.)
Half day sessions, to coincide
with school district schedules, will be
available throughout the year.
Transportation is available. Call
the CommKids Office (570-586-8191,
extension 6) for transportation options.

NEWS FROM THE
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
At its May 23rd Board of Trustees
meeting, the Waverly Community
House honored retiring trustee, Diane
Lenahan, for her many years of service.
In addition, Diane was recognized for
her countless hours as a volunteer with
the Volunteer of the Year award which
was presented to her at the Annual
Meeting by Lauri and Bill Chickillo (2015
recipients of that award). Outgoing
President, Lou Houck, recognized
Executive Director, Maria Wilson, for
11 years as Comm Director and newlyelected Board President, Patti Thomas,
introduced new Board Trustee, Malcolm
MacGregor.

hors d’oeuvres and light fare.

Cocktails for the Courts raises money for the
maintenance and preservation of our tennis courts,
so that we may continue to provide a place for our
community and beyond to play!

TENNIS CLINICS
to coincide with Comm Camp
(June 27 – August 5)
with Instructor Gabriella Horchos
Fee: $60 per week
Beginner: 1 to 2pm
Advanced Beginner: 2 to 3pm
Tennis campers may stay for extended camp
and will be escorted to and from camp.
PRIVATE LESSONS
Six weeks beginning July 12
6 to 8pm in the Scout Room

Private lessons for all experience
levels, Monday through Friday from
9am to 12 noon & 4pm to 5pm
Fees:
Private: $35 (1 hr) and $20 (½ hr)
