Statement of Condition 2013
MACHIAS SAVINGS BANK
Statement of Condition 2014
At Machias Savings Bank,
we believe that life,
especially in Maine, is full
of great moments that
are truly exceptional.
And, it’s our belief that your
banking relationship should
be equally exceptional.
Exceptional Moments.
2014 was another Exceptional year for Machias Savings Bank.
We grew assets by $70 million and finished the year with $1.1 billion in
assets. We continued to expand our statewide presence and experienced
great results with our new locations in Northern and Southern Maine.
We ended the year with respectable profits and, in spite of one-time
acquisition and expansion expenses, expect to place in the top third of
all Maine Community Banks.
We were honored to be in the Top 10 Best Places To Work In Maine and,
for our peer group, we were the number one bank! Our management team
takes tremendous pride in providing an awesome place for our employees to
work. Employee engagement and satisfaction continue to be a top priority.
In 2014, we made a difference in our communities with
thousands of hours of volunteer service and contributions
to many worthy causes including: youth athletic programs,
animal shelters, YMCA programs, hospitals, homeless
shelters, Project Graduation, food pantries, after school
programs, Special Olympics, Cub Scouts, art museums,
education, United Way, Red Cross, Troop Greeters,
conservation, Ronald McDonald House, and many
economic development initiatives. We helped numerous
healthcare initiatives including: Cancer Care, Multiple
Sclerosis, Autism, Alzheimer’s, Diabetes, Parkinson’s,
Veterans’ Homes, dental programs, American Heart
Association, and Hospice. We also worked hard to help our
students learn the financial literacy skills needed to make
successful financial decisions. Whether reading Bunny
Money, teaching coin recognition, or how to balance a
checkbook, it is our commitment to our communities that
we continue to improve the level of financial literacy.
A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT
In 2015, we will continue to focus on enhancing and
promoting the unique and thriving culture that has made us
successful for many years. We will look through the lens of
the customer in our daily effort to provide the best customer
service in the business. We will provide a challenging,
engaging, and rewarding environment for our employees
with ample opportunities for growth, development, and
advancement. Finally, we will continue to focus on making
a difference in our communities.
If you are not a customer, I encourage you to experience
the Machias Savings Bank difference. Come visit one of
our locations and experience a warm greeting or call our
exceptional Customer Service Center at 1-866-416-9302
and experience a real person answering the phone! Contact
