HR 500
HR 500 CAST
Guhring further develops its successful HR 500 reamer
range: The high-performance reamers are now available with
Signum-coating as standard. It now enables the machining of
GG and GGG with only one tool.
The new Signum-coating excels thanks to extreme hardness and good coating
adhesion. These are optimal prerequisites for the application in grey cast iron
and spheroidal graphite iron. With this optimisation of the range the machining of
GG and GGG is possible with only one tool. For our customers this means easier
handling, less tools and subsequently lower costs. In addition, the Signum-coated
HR 500 Cast reamer achieves better surface qualities and a longer tool life.

A surface finish quality of Ra 1.6 in GG and Ra 1.2 in GGG is not a problem with the Signum-coated HR 500 Cast reamer.
However, prerequisite is at least an average casting quality with homogeneous cavity distribution.

The HR 500 Cast reamer produces
surface finish qualities that were previously not possible with multi-fluted
reamers. With a homogenous casting
quality a surface finish < Ra 1.6 in
GG is achievable without a problem.
Naturally, with the usual high cutting
rates. Diameter fluctuations are a
thing of the past, process reliability
and a reduction in process costs are
guaranteed. A surface finish quality
< Ra 1.2 is also no problem in GGG
thanks to the Signum-coating.
