Fall 2014 Executive Committee
President
Hello!! My name is
Kelly Duong and I
will be your
president for this
upcoming
semester. First off,
I’m really excited
to see everyone’s
journey
throughout the
semester. I’ve been in Alpha Phi Omega
for about 3 years and I really enjoy
being around this organization. Despite
what most people will say, I’m really not
scary or intimidating. Please approach
me if there are any issues. I love going
on adventures with friends, even if it’s
just a small trip to the grocery store. I
enjoy listening to various types of music
and stargazing, although it’s hard in San
Francisco. I have met some really
awesome people in APO and some of
them have become my really good
friends. I really hope every one of you
[pledges and members] will find people
who enjoy being around. It’s hard to
write about myself, so if you want to get
to know me more, just strike up a
conversation with me!
Service Vice Presidents
Hi guys! My name is Michelle. Also known
as Meesh. Commonly known as Lord
Meesh. I’m 1/2 of your Service Vice
Presidents for fall 2014! The other 1/2 is
my big, Felipe. I pledged Fall 2013 and I
had the most memorable pledging
experience. I’m excited for this semester
to be able to give back to my chapter
(MZ is my chapter by the way ok). Please
work with my co & I in order to hold
some of the best service projects ever!

Alpha Phi Omega ~ Mu Zeta Chapter
Issue 1 :: Sept 23, 2014
You can always talk to me if you ever have a problem,
service related or not. Here’s to a great semester.
Hey Mu Zeta! My name is Felipe Lopez and I am ½ of Fall
2014 Service Vice Presidents, I along with my co will be in
charge of the chapter’s service events and what not. I
pledged two springs ago with the Melissa Dagdagan
pledge class. Well where should I begin? I guess I can start
by telling you guys that I’m from the city of Whittier, this is in
Southern California, it’s sort of near LA, I think. I’m currently a
fourth year student majoring in Cinema, hoping to
eventually work as a screenwriter or possibly an art
director/cinematographer, I still need to make up my mind
but if all else fails I can strive to live out my dream of being a
social media correspondent for some company. That was a joke, don’t take that
seriously, well sort of…no…not really. Moving on, some interesting facts about me are that
I’m interesting but I would like to think that I’m also lively and outgoing with a quiet and
reserved side, it just depends but I usually have a smile on my face, usually. I’m curious by
nature, I ask a lot of questions at times, I’m also indecisive like very indecisive. I like
exploring the city, visiting new restaurants and dessert cafes (if you know any places take
me, I’d be willing to chip in gas money, I’m serious about this). Some of my hobbies
include… well I don’t think I have hobbies, maybe I do I just don’t know it, well I like
reading, listening to upbeat music, mellow music is chill as well, I like taking pictures (for
instagram of course). I also enjoy foods that will possibly lead me down the path of
diabetes, but that sounds morbid and depressing so moving on I like cake,
macarons, frozen yogurt, bubble tea, and croissants. I’ve learned many many things from
APO, and I can literally write an essay but I don’t want to bore you guys, so to finish up
some things that I can give as advice is to appreciate time, be open minded, and to
simply have fun. I hope we’ll have a good semester! Meesh and I will work extra hard to
be good Service Vice Presidents.

Membership Vice Presidents
Hello! My name is Jordan
Santiago and I am one
of your Membership Vice
Presidents for Fall 2014. I
pledged Fall 2011 as part
of the Charles P.
Zlatkovich pledge class
and have been an
active member ever
since. I am currently a fourth year Computer
Science major, but I am also passionate
about literature, film, history, and video
games. I suppose you can say I'm a nerd at
heart, but I like it that way. My hometown is
Suisun City which is located near Fairfield and
Vallejo. There is really nothing out there so I
decided to come here to the city where it's
fun and stuff. Yeah. Anyhoo, some of my
interests are chocolate, dogs, exploring,
movies, and technology. Some of my dislikes
include germs, bugs, heights, and conceited
people. I love a good conversation so if you
happen to see me feel free to come up and
talk to me.
Hi Mu Zeta! My name is
Kevinjoeffre Angeles
Piguing. Buuuut... just
call me Kevin. I pledged
Fall 2013, David A.
Emery (Like what? Like
DAEM!), and I'm
currently 1/2 of your
Membership Vice
Presidents. I am a Health
Education major, and
currently in my fifth year of college. I
transferred to SFSU last year not expecting
much, but knowing that I wanted to get
more involved in school. I knew Isabella from
high school (we're from the same rinky dink
small Filipino town next to Vallejo), and I
Issue 1 :: Sept 23, 2014
wanted her to show me around. Little did
I know that she was also rushing
people.... So here I am today. LOL. I
wouldn't be the kind of person I am
today without APhiO, and the people in
Mu Zeta, and I am truly indebted to that
fact. Some things about myself, I like to
cook, eat, go out to eat food, gym, eat
more food, and gym some more. I also
work at Pinkberry, so I get to eat there
too. Wanna eat, wanna hit the gym? I'm
so down (but I'm more down for food).
Pledgemasters
Evan Calip is currently 1/2 of the
pledgemasters for fall 2014. He pledged
for Alpha Phi Omega back in Spring 2012.
Anyways, some of his interests include
knowing random basketball facts, such
as Kobe Bryant has been in the NBA for
18 years which is half his life, watching
standup comedy, like Dave Chappelle
YouTube clips, and thrifting for
windbreakers (they find me, I swear).
Evan was born and raised in the South
Bay, Los Angeles area but has lived in
San Francisco for over three years and
absolutely loves it. Evan’s wishful for a
world in which
racism doesn’t exist.
Evan also wants to
remind you to save
water because
California is in a
drought.
Hi there! My name is
Jaime Yasaki and I’ll
be ½ of your
pledgemasters this
semester. I pledged Spring ’13 as part of
the Jordan Ondoy pledge class with all
the lovely J.O.’s!! Currently, I’m a third
year studying Business Administration with
a concentration in Management. I’m
from SoCal so when I moved up to SF I

didn’t know too many people, but the people of Mu Zeta have definitely helped me come
to love SF and view it as my new home! I’m still new to the city though, so I would love to
go explore and find some hidden gems. If you know of some good places, let me know!
But for now, have a lovely day (:
Fellowship Vice Presidents
My name is Dennis, and I am 1/2 of the Fall 2014 Fellowship Vice Presidents! I pledged in Fall
2013, and am currently in my third year at SFSU majoring in Environmental Studies. I’m a San
Francisco native, and (even though I’ve been here for a while) I enjoy exploring the city
and finding new places to hang out with friends. Some random facts about me: I used to
work at Tpumps. Now I don’t. I’ve never taken a Spanish class. I speak Spanish. I’m lefthanded. Left-handed struggles. I enjoy playing soccer, video games, and music. I also
enjoy sleeping, an activity which you may find me doing
often. Over the last year that I’ve been with Alpha Phi
Omega, I’ve met so many new people and some pretty
amazing friends, and I’m excited for this upcoming semester
and all the exciting events that we have planned for
everyone!
Hello friends! My name is Sharon Diep and I’m 1/2 Fellowship
Vice President for the Fall 2014 semester. I’m currently a prenursing major, but am in the process of switching to Bio w/
concentration in Microbio. I was born in San Jose, but moved
to Glockton, Killafornia (Stockton, California) in the middle of
high school. On my free time you can find me either hanging
out with friends, going out for milk tea (or food, but it’s mostly
milk tea), playing video games, raving about videogames, watching Youtube videos
(about videogames), or sleeping. I consider myself to be rather awkward when meeting
new people, but I’m 99.9% sure that awkwardness will go away once we’ve become great
friends! I also tend to be extremely goofy if we become best friends, just a heads up. I
pledged for Alpha Phi Omega during the Fall 2013 semester for the David A. Emery pledge
class. Prior to becoming Fellowship Vice President, I served as 1/2 Historian for the Spring
2014 semester. Through Alpha Phi Omega, I have made some of the bestest friends that I
have ever had and hope to have for a lifetime. I have also had the opportunity to discover
the leader in me and learned how to give unselfishly of my time and enery to the
community. Furthermore, I am looking forward to another awesome semester with Mu Zeta!

Finance Vice Presidents
Hullo! My name is Izien Cabreza and I’m
half of Fall 2014 Finance VP. I’m a third
year econ major. I pledged Spring 2014
Katrina Harvey. I’ve become more
personable since pledging, but I still don’t
like talking to strangers that much. (I tend
to be awkward). I like taking pictures,
exploring, and eating food (which usually
end up just being some sort of
combination of those three). I’ve lived
around SF nearly my entire life but I haven’t
really started enjoying it until pledging.
Hopefully everyone
enjoys it as much as I did!
(I’ll definitely try to make it
so you do too.)
Hello, hello! My name is
Isabella Thompson and
I’m one-half of your
Finance VPs! I really don’t
know what to write about myself so I guess
I’ll start with the basics: I’m a 4th year here
at SFSU, I’m majoring in Linguistics, I’m from
a small town called American Canyon
(And if you don’t know where that is, it’s AOK because 99.99% of the world doesn’t
know either), and I pledged Spring 2012
Melissa Dagdagan! I never thought I would
join an organization when I first started
college, but here I am! Alpha Phi Omega
truly is AWE-MAZING and I am proud to
serve on this semester’s ExComm along
with my super awkward, cat-loving co,
Izien. When I’m not busy with school or
work I like to: read, people watch, watch
anime/Asian dramas/British television, play
video games, eat out with friends, eat with
my family, eat by myself, and spend a lot
of time on this thing called the internet.
Sometimes I’d like to think I’m a fun person,
Issue 1 :: Sept 23, 2014
or at least not a total bore. So don’t be shy
and come say hi! Really, even if you’re
awkward, I’m awkward too. So let’s be
awkward friends together. Okay?
Administrative Vice Presidents
Hi Mu Zeta!
I hope you decide to read my poem,
yeah?
I'll be 1/2 of your AVP this fall,
I'm one of the ones typing next to the wall,
A second year hoping to get into their
major,
if I get accepted, Wooot! Yay her,
I pledged for AphiO last spring,
my hobbies include
sleeping,
I'm from SoCal,
Let's be pals!
Hopefully this poem
helped you get to know
me.
I'm almost always happy.
Hey y’all my name is Sara
Joseph and I am a
sophomore majoring in
kinesiology with a concentration in exercise
and movement science. USC is my number
1 for grad school & I am pursuing to
become a physical therapist. To keep
things short, there are 6 things about me:
1) first things first I’m the realest
2) i love my family
3) i love my roommates
4) Krewella is my favorite artist <3
5) i love crepes. savory or sweet
6) I am a runner (XC) and swimmer
I crossed Spring ’14 and joining APO was
probably the best decision I made last
semester. My co and I can’t take decent
pictures.

Sergeant-at-arms
Hey! I’m Gordon and I am half of your
Seargeant-at-Arms for Fall 2014. I am a 2nd
year student at the moment who is
majoring in Microbiology. I pledged Katrina
Harvey last Spring. I’ve lived in San
Francisco my whole life. Some of my
hobbies are playing video games,
watching tv/anime/movies/etc, and
playing basketball once in a while. I never
expected to join a frat, and then last
semester
happened, and so
far it’s been a great
experience. I look
forward to serving
with Raymond as
your SAAs and
seeing old and new
faces!
Hello, my name is
Raymond Yu and I
am half of your
Seargeant-at-Arms
for Fall 2014. I am a
second year student majoring in
biology(physiology). I pledged spring 14′ as
part of the Katrina Harvey pledge class. I
was born and raised in San Francisco. My
hobbies include basketball, gaming,
anything really. My pledging experience
was amazing and I hope yours is too.
Alumni Advisors
What's up MZ?! My name's Alyssa and I am
one of your advisors this semester. This is my
3rd semester as advisor, and before that I
was president for a couple semesters and
Service VP for a couple semesters. I
pledged in Fall 2010, which is starting to

sound like a long
time ago (even
though it's really
not). I am fortunate
to be serving as
advisor alongside
two of my favorite
brothers, Kristin Lam
and Joseph Enriquez. A little about me - I
graduated from SFSU in 2013, and I currently
work as a full-time video editor/producer for
the San Francisco Giants. Essentially, I help
create the videos that go on the
scoreboard during games, plus stuff for
SFGiants.com, commercials, and
occasionally TV shows. It's a fun job but I
work ridiculous hours so I want to apologize
in advance if I'm a little MIA this semester.
With that being said, I look forward to
meeting all you new pledges and I
encourage you to ask me anything you
want to know about APO. I know a lot
about our chapter and the fraternity as a
whole, so feel free to pick my brain. APO
was my greatest experience in college so I
encourage you to take advantage of all it
has to offer. I would not be where I am
today without the skills, experiences, and
relationships that I gained through APO.
Good luck this semester!
Hello hello helloooo!
My name is Kristin Lam. I am
one of the three wonderful
Alumni advisors. I
graduated in Spring 2013
with a major in Health
Education and a minor in
Counseling. I am currently a
graduate student at San
Jose State University for an
M.A in Counselor Education.
I also work as a
paraeducator or class
support at an Elementary

school. My pledge class is James. L Chandler--Fall 2010 (JLC—WE CRAZY! WE FAMILY!
<3) From then, I was a pretty active member; some of the position includes being ½
Administrative Vice President, ½ Service Vice President and ½ Multicultural Aids
Awareness Day Chair. The reason why I decided to be a part of Alpha Phi Omega is
because I enjoy doing community service and I love connecting with people. The
service projects were great! It gave me skills to work in a diverse community and build
many friendships along the way. Being a part of Alpha Phi Omega was one of the best
change during my undergrad at SFSU. Some of the other things about myself is that I
looovee boba milk tea, sushi and long walks to a buffet in Vegas. They are the best
things in the world--haha! Also, If any of you have any questions or need a person to
lend an ear, I am always happy to help. Don’t hesitate! It doesn’t hurt to ask! <3.

Why did you decide to join Alpha Phi Omega when you
did?
Pledge Class: Fall
2011 Charles P.

Graduated: Spring
2013
Degree: B.S. Health
Education, B.A. Asian
American Studies
Currently: Pin@y

Fun fact: Loves super
heroes
Because I needed something to do. JK, SERVICE! My initial
intent [for joining Alpha Phi Omega] was for the service. I
knew a few people already in it. It was my 3rd year at State,
& I felt like I needed to break away from the stereotypically
ideas of what a fraternity (or sorority) was in my mind.
What is your favorite pledging memory?
Interviews! Fun to do! Pain to type! This is what could have
DP’ed me. Literally, for 24 hours on the last night, phew.
Yeah, I stayed at Kristen’s dorm; she slept while I typed. I
treat it like it’s a joke, but it’s no joke, folks.
What positions have you done?
I was Rush master, working with Nicol & Bev, was probably
the funnest in terms of all the creativity that goes into it!
Something I’ve realized is that you can do anything in the
chapter if you have creativity & passion for the fraternity.
You have to have the “best interest in heart” mentality.
Shout out to Lauren Bow!! The most challenging position, in
the best way possible, I took on was Pledgetrainer, but I
really enjoyed this the most because I got to be one of the
guiding lights for folks who are willing to learn about
7

Alpha Phi Omega ~ Mu Zeta Chapter
Issue 1 :: Sept 23, 2014
something completely new to them. I was also Rock
Head & Leadership Chair.
What is your favorite Α Φ Ω memory?
Service Projects! Knowing that you have made a
difference in someone’s life, even though the task may
have been small. That, I believe is the essence of Α Φ Ω.
How do you think Mu Zeta has grown?
Our presence on campus has grown exponentially, which is a good thing definitely. SF
State allows us to be here & they trust us, which is so dope. Mu Zeta is just such a lively
chapter, & that’s something that is pretty much consistent, which is good. The Α Φ Ω
experience is different all-around. I don’t mean that in a bad way, it’s different as in it has
gotten better.
What is your favorite thing about State?
The student life! I have a lot of school pride for any school that I’ve been to. I enjoy
indulging in the school spirit. It’s important to enjoy being a student, & I think some people
don’t really get it because maybe it’s not the “cool” thing to do, or they’re not like moving
up from So Cal & forced to make new friends in a way, but it’s definitely a big part of the
college experience; making those connections in the community.
What have you been up to since you’ve graduated?
Teaching 8th graders at James Denman Middle School as a volunteer with Pin@y
Educational Partnership (PEP). I only get to see the kids once a week because I commute
from home in Fremont, CA, but I love seeing their growth as they start to morph into little
adults & the kind of person they are going to be. Other than that, still trying to look for a
job, unless I make a decision to go back to school. Becoming more of an active
parishioner in my church back home, & teaching Confirmation and CCD there. I’m doing
good, doing what I want to do, & still transitioning from college life to real life.
How do you define “success”?
I’m an idealist! I define my success by how happy I am. If you’re
not happy doing something, you’re doing something wrong.
Do you think of yourself as successful?
I want to say, “Yes,” but at the same time I feel like I’m not there
yet. I’m still young, & there’s still a lot of world to see for me. I feel
like my life is just starting out!
