System Overview
The SageGlass® Unplugged™ electronically tintable skylight system can
group multiple skylights into zones which are controlled together via apps for
iOS or Android. A single SageGlass Unplugged system can control multiple
zones. A zone is defined as a single skylight or a group of skylights that will tint
simultaneously. Automatic daylight control can also be achieved using only the
solar panels to monitor the intensity of sunlight.
The SageGlass Unplugged system consists of a SageGlass insulated glass unit
(IGU) with attached solar panel and a controller module that includes a
wireless controller and solar rechargeable battery ➊, one or more SageConnect
coordinators* ➋ which manage the wireless network, and WiFi router ➌ to
interface with mobile devices ➍. The WiFi router available with the system is
optional – you may choose to use your existing household router.

How SageGlass Works
SageGlass panes are coated with five layers of ceramic materials with a total
thickness of less than 1⁄5th of a human hair. When a low voltage is applied across
the coatings, ions travel from one layer to another layer causing the coating to tint
and absorb light. Reversing the polarity causes the ions to migrate back to their
original layer, untinting the glass.

and installation under “Solar Electric Property” expenditures when purchased and installed through
December 31, 2016.
What You Should Do
After Installation
• Keep your receipts for total price paid (invoice from contractor for product and installation) of the qualifying Wasco products.
• Attach receipts to a completed Manufacturers Certification Statement1 and keep for your records (Certification Statement can be
found at www.wascoskylights.com/uploads/federal_tax_credit.pdf).
When Filing Your Taxes
• Fill out the IRS Residential Energy Efficient Property Credit tax form 5695 (under “Qualified solar electric property cost”)
• Submit it with your taxes. Enter this tax credit off of form 5695 on your IRS tax form 10402 (tax forms can be found at www.irs.gov).
IRS Notice 2009-41 suggests the taxpayer is not required to attach this certification statement to their tax return. However, the taxpayer should retain this certification statement as part of their tax records.
As in all tax matters, the taxpayer is advised to consult their tax professional. Wasco Products, Inc. assumes no liability regarding the homeowner’s ability to obtain tax credits.

Hurricane Resistant (HR)
Wasco Skylights with hurricane resistant glazing meet Dade County, IBC/IRC/FBC
and other stringent state building codes for skylights installed in Wind Zone 3 coastal
applications. Hurricane resistant glass appears to be ordinary glass, but shields
against damage from wind-borne debris, accidental impacts, forced entry and even
unwanted noise.

Lumira is able to provide a tremendous thermal insulator that is also environmentally

MOTORIZED VENTING RETROFIT
WLS Motor Kit - $805
To motorize manually vented models EV (page 7) or GSV
(page 10), retrofit the hand crank casing with the WLS Motor
Kit. Includes electric motor, rain sensor and wall control unit.
The WLS is a hard-wired electric motor with wall switch
control. Each motorized window must have its own control
unit. WLS Motor and Switch cannot be ordered separately.
For factory installed wireless motor, choose model EVMS
(page 8) or GSVMS (page 11).

Wasco Skylights with hurricane-resistant glazing meet Dade County, IBC/
IRC/FBC, and other stringent state building codes for skylights installed
in Wind Zone 3 coastal applications.
Available for fixed E-Class deck mount, G-Series curb mount and
Architectural Series structural skylights, hurricane resistant glass appears
to be ordinary glass, but shields against damage from wind-borne debris,
accidental impacts, forced entry and even unwanted noise.
Wasco uses hurricane-resistant insulating glass made of heat strengthened
low-E lites permanently bonded with one or more interlayers of durable
SGP (DuPont SentryGlas® Plus). In exhaustive impact tests, broken glass
fragments have adhered to the bonded plastic vinyl interlayer, reducing
the risk of injury, shattered glass and breaching the building envelope.
