“READY TO FLY” – One of the
first signs of Spring; baby
birds ready to take wing.
After a long winter, we will be
looking to paint signs that
Spring is just around the
corner, and these delightful babies will be great
fun and give us assurance that winter is nearly
gone. There will be a template for the baby
bluebirds, so original drawing is not a requirement
and beginners can join right in and learn to paint
in watercolor. You will be taught many watercolor
techniques and go home with a finished painting.
Please bring your paints and brushes, and you can
purchase paper at class. Come and join us and
paint signs of Spring and be “Ready To Fly.”

The Friends Update
written by Toni Anand, FOSC Board Member
The Friends of the Oshkosh Seniors Center hosted a wonderful Spaghetti Dinner as a fundraiser which
was open to the public. Many hands made for a delicious and fun time.
The food aromas coming from the kitchen for two straight days gave everyone in the building a clue
that something was indeed cooking! The aromas from the spaghetti sauce were to die for! The fall
theme used for the tables was beautiful. The volunteers, made up of Friends, Board Members and
University students, were kept busy serving, clearing tables and washing dishes. It was fun! Working
with other seniors is always a joy-we have so much in common.
The Friends raise funds to supplement the needed monies that are not funded by the City. We host
approximately 8 fundraisers a year. You may remember the Fall Family Fun Fest, Night on the River,
Touch a Truck, and Breakfast with the Bunny. These are all family events—NOT just for seniors! We
even did a Festival Brat Barn!
Our Annual Appeal has begun. Letters have gone out to our community. Your much needed financial
support may be mailed in the envelope that was provided in the mailing, or, you may stop by with your
donation in person. We love to make new friends!
