3D Virtual Fit System
The 3D Virtual Fit™ system features patented and proprietary technology that utilizes custom built kiosks to take three dimensional images
of a person's feet and then compares those to the three dimensional image of the inside of a shoe. Once a person has been measured,
their foot information is stored locally on the kiosk as well as remotely at the secure FormaLogix data center, making their information readily
available should they wish to purchase shoes at a store, online or through a catalog.
Obtaining a Virtual Fit ID™
Before a person can use the 3D Virtual Fit system, they first need to obtain a Virtual Fit ID. Virtual Fit IDs
are issued at every kiosk in the 3D Virtual Fit network and consist of a six digit barcode that identifies the
store where the kiosk is located as well as a randomly generated number uniquely identifying the card
holder - much like a credit card. This number is the Virtual Fit ID which is stored on all kiosks as well as at
the FormaLogix data center along with the card holder's foot dimensions.

Capturing the foot
The first step in capturing a person's foot is to measure them at a 3D Virtual Fit kiosk. Each kiosk uses
sophisticated digital cameras placed strategically around a person's foot that record length and width as
well a number of other characteristics such as the instep, heel, toe box, 1st metatarsal and arch area. This
process takes seconds and results in an accurate measurement of the person's foot which will be used to
compare to the three dimensional image (VForm) of a shoe. Once scanned the foot dimensions for each
person are stored on the kiosk and then later sent to the FormaLogix data center where they will be made
available to all other kiosks in the 3D Virtual Fit network as well as for any online and direct sales.
Creating VForms™
Central to the 3D Virtual Fit system is an extensive database of VForms (Virtual Forms). VForms are
proprietary to FormaLogix and are used whenever a Virtual Fit is performed, be it at a kiosk or over the
internet. VForms are generated by taking several horizontal and vertical "slices" from the original shoe last
which was used to manufacture the shoe. These slices only contain the information necessary to
recommend a fit and the manufacturer's original shoe last data is NEVER used during a Virtual Fit.
VForms were specifically designed in this manner in order to protect the intellectual property of each shoe
manufacturer and cannot be deconstructed or reverse engineered to recreate the original last. Once the
original shoe last is converted into a VForm, the last data is either returned back to the manufacturer or
stored at our secure, state-of-the-art data center.
Performing a Virtual Fit
Once a person has been scanned by the 3D Virtual Fit kiosk, they are ready to perform a Virtual Fit.
During a Virtual Fit, FormaLogix software compares hundreds of points and areas between the
dimensions of the foot and the three dimensional VForm of a selected shoe. The Virtual Fit software also
takes into consideration the stretch characteristics of the shoe, manufacturer defined fit tolerances and
the construction methods used during the manufacturing process. This results in a best fit
recommendation which determines the appropriate shoe size for the customer.

FormaLogix FormaSync™ Update Technology
3D Virtual Fit kiosks have been designed to function without requiring an always on internet connection. This has been made possible due to
proprietary FormaSync™ technology that works over an existing phone line, and performs nightly updates to the FormaLogix data center.
These updates include diagnostics on how the system is operating, as well as all new and changed Virtual Fit IDs and 3D foot images. At the
same time kiosks download any changes to the software, as well as new Virtual Fit IDs and 3D images from other kiosks on the 3D Virtual Fit
network. This ensures that every kiosk can operate independently of the internet and each other, while at the same time ensuring that no
matter where a person purchases their shoes, be it at a kiosk, on the internet or through a catalog, their Virtual Fit ID will always be available.

3D Virtual Fit Experience
The 3D Virtual Fit™ kiosk has been designed to provide the best possible customer experience. With an intuitive display and exciting
interactive graphics, each kiosk makes it easy for people to get their feet scanned and to choose the best fitting shoes. Highly configurable,
the kiosk software can be further customized to display store and/or manufacturer specific content and branding, providing a high degree of
personalization that ensures a great experience for the customer as well as for the store itself.

FormaLogix 3D Virtual Fit helps footwear retailers increase sales,
reduce returns and improve customer satisfaction
The FormaLogix 3D Virtual Fit system has been designed specifically to address the problem of size, and the resulting customer confusion,
concern and cost that arise from incorrect sizing. Problems which materially effect the bottom line of footwear manufacturers and retailers
and result not only in lost revenues, but also in lost sales opportunities. With the 3D Virtual Fit system footwear manufacturers and retailers
benefit from increased sales, reduced returns and greater customer satisfaction.

all these shoes fit the same person, which results in:
Confusion - when people don't know their size sales take longer and customers are left waiting
Concern - if people have no confidence in the accuracy of shoe sizes, they are unwilling to buy direct
Cost - if the shoes don't fit, they get returned, resulting in restocking costs plus missed sales opportunities
*actual shoes were purchased November 14, 2003 for a man measuring a size 12.5 on a Brannock device
The solution - 3D Virtual Fit by Formalogix
By solving the problem of size, FormaLogix is able to:
Increase Sales:
o Virtual Fits reinforce a sales person's recommendations or a shoe's fit, helping to close the sale.
o On-line and catalog sales will increase as customers are confident that their shoes will fit when they arrive.
o Virtual Fit IDs will increase people's willingness to order footwear as gifts, or on impulse, either at stores, online or through catalogs.
Reduce Returns:
o Better fitting shoes means less chance of returns and therefore greater retail profits.
o Online and catalog returns will be dramatically reduced as customers can see their foot inside the shoe before they buy.
Improve Customer Satisfaction:
o Customers are served faster as they no longer need to try on multiple shoes to find the right size.
o Customers will appreciate the effort that retailers go to ensure the best and most comfortable fit.
o Better service leads to more repeat buyers and greater customer loyalty.
