Sharp and Dangerous: A Katamari Boardgame
Sharp and Dangerous: A Katamari Boardgame Sharp and Dangerous: A Katamari Boardgame is a multiplayer experience where one player takes the role of the “GameMaster” and the rest compete to build the biggest Katamari ball and send it into space. Watch out though, all the game pieces are sharp and dangerous! RULES: 1. First, the 3 players must pick which color they’d like to play as. All colors play on an equal playing field. 2. Each player is responsible for placing the tacks of their respective colors on the board. The GameMaster has veto power over where the tacks are placed, as well as being responsible for placing the white and yellow tacks. 3. Each player must pick where on the border of the main game board they place their small starting/ending boards. Meanwhile, the GameMaster secretly assigns point values to each tack. One color must have each of the following values: -‐50, -‐10, 0, 10, 50. He must write it down on the included game sheet so as not to show favoritism later in the game. 4. The game begins. The GameMaster goes first, and the game proceeds in a counterclockwise direction from there. He rolls a six-‐sided dice which determines how many times the main game board will be rotated at 90 degree angles. Meanwhile, during the players’ turns, they roll the dice and move the number of times in whichever direction they please. For every space they roll over, they must pick up the tack on that space. Therefore, it is possible for a player to get 6 tacks in one turn. 5. The goal of the players is to collect as many positive points as possible. However, the players do not know which color equates to which point value until the GameMaster decides to reveal it to the players. 6. The game ends when one player returns to the end of his/her starting board, or the main board runs out of positive pieces, or the 15 minute time limit runs out. At the end of the game, whoever has the most points wins.
