Even though we offer varying color options for your
selection, you may choose to let us send you a
selection of our best

Minimum Order
Minimum opening order on marbled silk accessories and marbled leather is $300. A minimum
opening order of ten pieces is required on SoLace
clothing items. SoLace recommends ordering a
minimum of 12 each per silk and leather accessory
and paper items to insure a good representation
and success with our products.
Terms
COD, prepay or proforma until credit is established.
Credit can be established by supplying three artists
references with whom you do business. Once credit
is established, repeat orders are net 30. Shipping
and handling will be added to the invoice.
We do our best to have product in stock and ready
to ship within two weeks of order. Clothing items
may be on a two to six week delivery time from
date of order. Completion date is a SHIP BY date
unless you specify an in store date.
Leather Care
The marbled pattern on SoLace leather is
permanent. The leather itself gets softer and the
shine increases with use. We recommend Apple
Leather Care® for cleaning and conditioning
leather.
Silk Care
The marbled pattern on SoLace silk is permanent.
All marbled silk products are hand washable and
preshrunk. A hot iron is ok to use on the silk if
necessary.

What is marbling?
The pattern on all SoLace products is
created using a technique called marbling.
Marbling was first created in the twelfth
century Europe. The technique is performed
by floating drops of ink on a thickened water
mixture similar to unjelled gelatin. A comblike
tool is pulled across the surface creating the
marbling pattern. Different patterns are
created by pulling the comblike tools in
different directions. The fabric or leather
is then laid on the surface, removed
immediately and a print is made. Only one
print is possible per inking.
The marbled pattern is permanent on the
leather. The leather products appear softer
and the shine increases with continued use.
The color is permanent on the silk clothing
as well. The silk clothing and accessories
are preshrunk and washable.
Where does the name SoLace
come from?
In 1991 a special friend was about to be
wed. For her wedding shower I created
a special piece of lingerie using vintage
handcrafted lace. The gift was so well
received I made more! I found the more
I sewed the more peaceful I felt. Then I
realized sewing gave me solace (or sew
lace) when I was sewing lace.
Thus the name and the rest is history.
