To kick off Healthy Virginians Week, the annual Fit Night PTA
meeting & Title I program was held at Woodberry Hills on September
24th. A special guest from Get Fit Dan-River Region started off the
program with some simple stretches anyone can do to get their body
moving. Students and parents enjoyed rotating through fitness stations,
celebrating the importance of having a healthy body and mind. The
stations included scooters, jump roping, hula-hooping, sit-up/push ups,
and a pull-up station. Door prizes were given away at the conclusion of
the event. The event was coordinated by Mr. Jay Rojas, physical educator teacher. Many events are planned for this year to emphasize the
importance of good health and fitness. Students look forward to Jump
Rope for Heart that will take place in February. The event raises money
each year for the American Heart Association.
