SO Festival
Various locations - see table below
SO Festival is East Lindsey’s biggest celebration of art, culture and sport - offering an array
of free family events, and something for everyone. Visitors can enjoy everything from
street theatre, live music and dance performances through to large-scale fire and light
spectaculars.
SO Festival was born in 2009 as an outdoor two-day arts festival on the East Coast of
Lincolnshire to what is now known as an East Lindsey district wide festival spread across
11 days.
With Skegness as one of the first traditional seaside resorts in the UK, and the home for
the culmination of the SO Festival, the theme for 2015 is traditional entertainment.
Come join us from 25th June – 5th July, as SO Festival 2015 is yet again set to bring a
fun-packed and exciting programme of spectacular visual art, street theatre, world-class
performers and dance acts to Lincolnshire’s coastal district of East Lindsey.

Sunday 4th October
Mablethorpe Marathon & Half Marathon
Start/Finish Monks Dyke Tennyson College – Mablethorpe Campus.
Route through Mablethorpe, Trusthorpe and Sutton on Sea
The 9th running of these races gets under way on the evening before event day with
a pasta party evening at The Dunes Complex which will enable competitors, marshals,
volunteers and fans of the event to meet up and mingle in a friendly atmosphere.
The races themselves start at 9.30am on the Sunday morning with any wheelchair
competitors going off five minutes before. The half marathon (and first lap of two for
the full marathon) takes runners through the town centre of Mablethorpe before they
find themselves in the contrasting scenery of the countryside which leads them into
Trusthorpe. The lap is completed as competitors enter Sutton on Sea for the unique
run along the promenade that takes them back to the college. The second part of the
marathon differs from the first by using a longer route through the streets of Sutton.
Whether you come to run or to watch, there will be a great day waiting for you. There
is ample car parking on site or nearby. Food, drinks and ice cream are readily available
and there are ample opportunities for photographs around the course or at the start/
finish. This event lives up to its reputation as ‘the friendly run’.
