Welcome from the Artistic Director
One Voice receives dozens of requests to sing in the community each year but this fall
was a record! From Burnsville to Bemidji, community groups across Minnesota have
called weekly asking for One Voice to perform. We have responded with And Justice
for All, an inspirational, sing-along concert celebrating the music and courage of civil
rights movements across the ages with a special focus on GLBT rights and marriage
equality. Share your voice in your community and join One Voice in demanding a
world where all voices are valued!
– Jane Ramseyer Miller
One Voice Mixed Chorus: Minnesota’s GLBTA community chorus
One Voice Mixed Chorus unites gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender people and straight allies to build community
and create social change by raising our voices in song. As one of the largest GLBT choruses in North America, One
Voice is known for its musical excellence, diverse programming, and deep commitment to community outreach.
The 110 singing members range from ages 17 to 77, and the “Fifth Section” boasts more than 50 non-singing
volunteers. Whether performing in schools, at community events, or on stage for marquee concerts, One Voice
inspires transformation through passionate, vibrant, and creative performances. The award-winning chorus, under
the direction of Artistic Director Jane Ramseyer Miller, has performed for thousands of people throughout the Twin
Cities, Greater Minnesota and beyond and is described by Chorus America as “one of the region’s best ensembles.”
GALA Choruses
One Voice Mixed Chorus is a member of GALA Choruses. The
mission of GALA Choruses is inspiring and strengthening member

Artistic Staff
Jane Ramseyer Miller, Artistic Director
Jane Ramseyer Miller is in her 19th year as Artistic Director for One Voice Mixed Chorus and also serves as Artistic
Director-in-Residence for GALA Choruses. She holds a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University
of Minnesota and a BA in Psychology from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. Her compositions are
published by Yelton Rhodes Music and Pilgrim Press. She especially enjoys creative community collaborations
and opportunities to get communities singing together! In 2008 she received the GALA Choruses Legacy Award
for her innovative programming and commitment to community outreach. In 2010 she was awarded the ACDA
VocalEssence Award for Creative Programming and the ACDA Minnesota Advocate for Choral Excellence (ACE)
Award, and the Tikkun Olam (“Repairing the World”) Award from J-Pride.
J. David Moore, OVation Coach
J. David Moore has been in love with a cappella singing and the romance of word and
melody ever since high school. Since then, he has written over two hundred arrangements
of vocal jazz, spirituals, barbershop quartet, Celtic mouth music, civil rights marching songs,
early American hymn tunes, sixteenth-century madrigals, and folk music in Ukrainian, Gaelic,
Austrian, Brazilian, Portuguese, French, and Latin. His own compositions are shaped by his
voracious appetite for music of every era and style. He has written art song, oratorios, music
for percussion ensemble, string quartet, wind ensemble, baroque orchestra, and tuned
wine glasses. He has written music for worship, dance, and the stage, including the outdoor
spectacle Solstice River, created by choreographer Marylee Hardenbergh, which has been
performed on the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis every summer since 1997. His recent
projects explore music for lute quartet, the poetry of Sylvia Plath, raucous British drinking
songs, and the singing meditations of the Taize Community.
Earl Moore, Accompanist
Earl Moore is a full-time project management professional based out of the Twin Cities.
After studying piano and choral music education at Northern Kentucky University, Earl has
worked with choirs and instrumental ensembles in a variety of settings. He currently serves
as organist and choir director at North United Methodist Church in Minneapolis and offers
private piano instruction in the Northwest metro area.

Concert Partner: Minnesotans United for All Families
In May 2011, the Minnesota State Legislature voted to put a
constitutional amendment on the 2012 ballot in Minnesota that
will read: “Shall the Minnesota Constitution be amended to provide
that only a union of one man and one woman shall be valid or
recognized as marriage in Minnesota?”
Minnesotans United for All Families is a broad coalition of organizations and community and business leaders
having conversations with Minnesotans about why this amendment – which seeks to limit the freedom to marry
for committed couples in Minnesota – must be defeated. One Voice is proud to be a member of the coalition
which is founded on a strong belief in the power of marriage. We believe marriage and family are about love and
commitment, working together, bettering the community, raising children, and growing old together. We believe
in a Minnesota that values and supports strong families and creates a welcoming environment for all Minnesota
families to thrive. And we believe that marriage matters. To all.
